If this were like any other show, I would give anything to see him as a man scorned in love. Ruining the Basus for the hell of it, letting Prerna go because he doesn't want a doll he wants the fiesty lively girl who has always defied him, sitting back watching his destruction unfold one beautiful chess play at a time. Cigar perpetually in his mouth, drink in hand. And then I'd also be blessed with all of his softer moments with Kuki. The lion's rawr at the thought of anything happening to his daughter. The: I may have loved you once Prerna, but none of that means anything if you could not love me back. I'd get the angst, the torture, the turmoil. I'd get the slow and subtle chess metaphors between Prerna and Rishabh, the outsmarting each other, outplaying each other. Her playing for freedom, him playing for her.
Woman, in an alternate universe (read in few of the wonderful stories here) we’d get the actual deal where Bajaj would have scorned at the ridiculousness the Basus display. He would’ve lounged back and let everything fall in place as per his immaculate plan. Kuki would have picked his side because she is HIS daughter. I don’t even know if he should play for her because it’s supposed to be a two way road and reciprocation of just not love but trust and respect should be mutual. She needs to reassure him that she’s worth fighting for..
