I strongly feel Anurag planned this accident upon himself by a fake car crash by another car to frame Bajaj. It must be that or he himself came before Bajaj's car only. He must be so desperate to get back Prerna's love anyway even if it meant he suffered wounds and they want to show this to show how great Anurag's love and his feelings and pain are? He wanted to frame the same man who saved him. Bajaj must have said it but it would create more tamasha there so he returned. He didn't hit him rather Anurag hit his car.
