I dont watch serials.. I get to watch a few only when I come to India as my mom watches serials. So sometimes I get the interst to follow up to know the story line and like that I started watching chinna thambi for sometime and I stopped it when the story moved to city from village.

Just by looking at promos, I get to understand stories and most of vijay tv serials are made for 1950-60 crowd. Mamyiyar torture, racism, stupid superstitions, Cheating husband..forced marriage.. mostly stories that are not for the current era. I feel there is too much of negativity in them.

All the more.. I dont get time. I have an obsession with books and I read mostly police procedurals and thriller genre books.

Same thoughts . Most of the serials has this forced marriage concept, how that new girl adjusts and win hearts .

I too like police procedural and thriller books. I too watched Rizzoli and Isle serial after reading the books. But the thrill in the book was missing in the serial and stopped watching.

very true.. the thrill in the book is missing in the series.. i watched elementary 2 seasons.. to some extent they had tried to bring the original characterization of holmes and watson.. but .. it had too much of personal lives of the protogonists and after that i didnt get time.. bosch series was good.. did u watch them?
