Veena is stubborn but she doesn't have ego....and she hasn't reached the stage yet where she feels fully guilty of her behavior towards RB so she's not acknowledging him....the teensy bit of gratitude she might have felt in being free from the case has been shown in the form of agreeing to her sons'helping RB in his time of need...
And in our country elders show their respect to higher officials like Judges in the form of folding their hands only....Just my two cent explanation....I'm getting inspired by so many gyaani writers in this AT....and that is a compliment in case anybody MUs me....I respect every interpretation given here....
