Palak Tiwari, the VICTIM, has clarified on few things.
EDIT: So much for link snipping, lol.
Abhinav Kohli has never physically molested me, or touched me inappropriately. Before spreading something of this caliber or even believing it, its imperative you as readers know the veracity of the facts that you’re blindly divulging endlessly.
I'm glad she clarified that the media was wrong regarding the molestation bit, but I disagree with the latter portion.
In many cases, it's quite burdensome to wait for the facts to come through before blindly divulging in things. That's why we have to take the word of the victim of such a horrible crime (and it annoys me that the media farks up reporting such an important issue) as evidence until further evidence contradicts or counters the allegation. Now I agree the media did a horrible job at reporting this -- however, how can an average person verify these facts?
Let's say the average person verified these facts, claimed the media got it wrong, and posted their own version. Let's say another person made up facts and posted their version. Who do I believe? I'd have to do the research myself for absolute confirmation, which means everyone interested in this case would have to do the same.
We can't have that social outrage if we waited to verify the authenticity of the media's claim that leads to public support in these matters.
Finally, should I verify Palak's facts that Abhinav is a sleazebag pervert (my words) too or should I believe what she's saying because she's the victim (in which case ... shouldn't I still verify?). It's noble what she's trying to say, but it doesn't work in reality - not in India, and not anywhere in the world.
