Yes, but for me even if it's not connected to the present, it was the visualization of one of my favorites scenes of the show, when HS first tells Minnie about Imarti. I am so so relieved that the scene lived up to my expectations. It was already a masterpiece when narrated by HS and the chances of it being ruined now were high, but I am glad they touched the right cord with it.

Imarti may have died either due to alcohol (not her drinking but someone else being drunk) or domestic abuse.

Agreed. I have a strong feeling HS' father and Mirza Sahab are involved. If not Mirza, then what was the point of Sartar going to Naeem Bi's house? Or did he plan on getting Mirza to give his statement on what happened?

Whatever it is I feel it has to do with Imarti's outspoken nature and her willing Ness to fight against the world.

I can't wait to watch this fight. Mini and Imarti do share similarities, that's why HS loves her more than Babita too. And that's why we saw her first through Mini, as you'd said. Today when he told her that he has never loved anyone more than Imarti, his voice shook. Evidently, he currently loves Mini more than anyone else.

I could see the subtle pride in his eyes when she says jaisa baap waisi beti. He should be proud of her sherni!

I can't wait for Mini, HS fight it out against all odds. I've a feeling, she'll start addressing her directly as dad by the end. Also, I want justice for Imarti. Who ever it was, whether if it's NB's miyan sahab, I want justice for her.

@bold, OMG I thought exactly the same thing but I wondered if I was the alone one that saw it that way. Glad you see it too. Just those very words, he was trying to hurt her... He had previously told her he loved her more than her mother, and now he was trying to tell her that she wasn't that important to him either. I almost choked with emotion when he was pushing her away and said this because it was hurting him so much, and he knew she was hurting by seeing him suffer. He has missed this unconditional love in his life for so many years and finally when he has it, he feels he has to protect it from himself.

Minnie and HS have always had open communication which is why I think on some level he knew that no matter how harsh he was with her, he would not be able to get her to leave him. Even if she were to relocate to another house, her heart and spirit would still be with him. By choosing to stay with him in his haveli, she stood up for his dignity and also showed respect to Imarti. There was a scene where she stood in front of the photo and it looked like Imarti and she were side by side, kindred spirits. Right now, she is the manifestation of Imarti's philosophy and soul, standing by HS as Imarti would have, understanding and loving him unconditionally.

I really really hope she does call him dad, actually bapu.

It's another kind of love that is completely admirable and I'm glad Minnie will get to see this. Ashok never loved her. HS loves her a lot. But through Sartar she can see that a father's true love for their daughters extend beyond mortal bounds. It's absolutely unconditional and eternal. <3

Yes, all these things together are going to make up for everything that Ashok never did for Minnie, or what Dadu could never do for Ashok, and what Lovely could never do for Dadu.

As I said, not having a father had been a major hole in her life, which she was fortunate enough to have filled and how! It is important for her to also learn that HS and his FIL both loved Imarti. HS' love for Minnie is just like Sartaj's love for Imarti. Both men are right in their own places, even if on opposing sides. This will also help Minnie learn about the various shades in life.
