Don't think it's a filler track exactly. But I do think this track is more about KalMa than anything else. Kalyani doesn't know that Malhar is pretending (if he really is), so she will definitely be angry this time. It's going in the direction that she'll get seriously hurt saving Malhar and he'll confess his love for her. I think the big twist will be with Atharva.

In my mind, if he still doubts Kalyani, then I don't think there is much difference between him and Atul. Cause at the end of the day, they both don't respect their wives and easily willing to ditch them. And I'll think it's really hypocritical for Kalyani to tell Anupriya to leave Atul, while she stays with Malhar.
