Thank you so much stuti for continuing with the story. Thanks to manasi too for posting the chapter. As usual it was a beautiful chapter very well written. You are one amazing writer.
Wanted to point out something, pls dont take it otherwise. I am an avid reader of your stories. I Know the reality of 16th century was completely different from 21st century. But somehow i felt cheap to read at the start of the chapter where jalal was with some random begum. I know this was the reality of those times, but on one side he is craving deeply for poornima bai. That part of him being with some random begum could have been avoided. It left a bad taste in my mouth.
I am really really sorry to point it out. But could not stop myself from doing so. I hope you wont misunderstand.
Hi Divya... 🤗 thank you so much for waiting, reading and then sharing your 2 cents here. It is very important for me...
About the point you mentioned here about the random Begam, I always knew it was a controversial part, and most will not like it. I could have avoided it easily but still I intentionally put that as I wanted to show a very small snippet of 16th century emperor's life style and the actual picture of harem. I understand it feels cheap because it is, but I believe it was a very common thing for those days that the emperor used to go to the different women for relaxation. I wanted to clear at some point of the story that Jalal is not different from those... Maybe it look like a bad time as he is craving for Purnima, but what I thought is Jalal is going through a dark time, utterly frustrated in love-life and also losing his loyal people from his side, so it is the time when he would want to forget his misery by applying anything- be it getting drunk or being with a woman. I had thought to give some insight of Jalal's mind in this particular part but skipped it for two reasons- one, I wanted to fast-forward the track without stretching, and two, it might have looked cheaper to read and affect the flow of story.
Take this part as a writer's experiment. 😛 I might have failed badly to show it properly, but don't worry, Jalal still loves Purnima.
