i am also feeling bad for Kane Williamson.....he deserve every bit of respect for the game he played and for the sportsmamship he showed throught the tournament. Can definitely understand that the loose might have devastated them as this was gonna be their first one. For the first time in finals i guess....one team did deserved the world cup but the other team was as deserving too and ofcourse loosing something from thos close is heartwrenching and they might be feeling horrible now.
Exactly . But I loved the way how calm and cool KW was during post mstch presentation . This itself speaks about the man otheriwse I bet you 95 out of 100 people would have been left frustrated and devastated after that kind of loss .

It happened in champions trophy .
Yeah but NZ took more wickets than Eng ? Then how come Eng are champions ? These rules are pathetic. That's why only 10-12 countries in this world follow cricket.
well wickets and 4s both are imp.
ideally get another super over.
or decide in terms of who was higher at the table. coming higher on the points table should mean something
secondly i like the ipl type playoffs. topping the table should have benefits
ideally this was a kind of match which should be a tie and trophy shared

It was already decided by the Big 3 (India, Australia and England) that England would win this WC. And, India would win the next one.
There is reason India didn't let Pakistan in the semifinals, England had lost to Pakistan in group stage.
There is a reason India lost to NZ. Otherwise, India was in a great form and NZ was struggling, so it would make no sense for Indian batsmen to perform badly.
The only reason it was a close match today, was so betters could make some money as most other matches were not that close.
England may have won the match and WC but it's really NZ that shined.
Waah Waah.. What a conspiracy theory đ
so what was NZ's role in this whole nautanki.. letting England win the title match?? and getting nothing in return?? đ
its a dead ball according to new icc rules for this year world cup.....thats what i have read till now. I havent seen the rules myself though.Originally posted by: -Sunshine
in that case it was a no ball, not dead ball
and a batsman can be run out on a no ball...

đ some logic .
the shcked dejected players of both teams india and Nz after their loss in respective matches tells you its not lost on purpose
âIt certainly wasnât one extra run. There were so many moments that couldâve gone either way, but congratulations to England â theyâve had an incredible campaign and they deserve it,â WIlliamson said at the gala post match presentation ceremony.
i agree kohli was devastated after india loss ....he was sad....shaken while kane williamson still wore a smile on face. Kane williamson is like dhoni in this aspect......he knows if he will be devastated....who willl handle the team....for them....he had a smile....so they can feel better.Originally posted by: Heart-Hacker

London, July 15 (IANS) New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, who was adjudged player of the tournament, said his team showed great heart to reach their second consecutive World Cup final, adding the players are shattered to come so close to winning their maiden crown.
Electing to bat first New Zealand put up 241/8 in 50 overs. Chasing the target, England rode Stokesâ unbeaten 84 off 98 balls with Jos Buttler also scoring 59. The pair added 110 runs for the fifth wicket to tie the game at 241 all out and take it to a Eliminator.
In the Eliminator, Stokes and Buttler helped England post 15 which New Zealand matched but in gut-wrenching fashion fell behind due to inferior position in the points table.
Williamson, who finished with 578 runs and received the award from batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, became the captain with most number of runs in a single World Cup. But nothing could wipe the gloom from his face in the end as the Kiwis lost by the faintest of margins.
âIt certainly wasnât one extra run. There were so many moments that couldâve gone either way, but congratulations to England â theyâve had an incredible campaign and they deserve it,â WIlliamson said at the gala post match presentation ceremony.
âThe pitches have been different to what was expected. No 300+ totals as expected. The NZ side showed a great amount of heart to get us to this point, but it just wasnât meant to be.
âThe guys are shattered at the moment â it is devastating. Itâs pretty tough to swallow at this stage. But a fantastic effort from our guys,â he said.
During the run chase, the ball hit Stokesâ bat and went for four for which Stokes apologised to Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson.
âIt was a shame that the ball hit Stokesâ bat, but I just hope it doesnât happen in moments like that. I donât wish to nitpick, just hope it never happens in such moments ever again,â Williamson said of the incident.
Stokes immediately got up and apologised with both his hands raised. He lated said he would forever be sorry about that to Williamson.
