“So how was thestory” Ruhaan asked his little daughter
“This islike…”Ishaali counts through her fingers and finally says “Many times Boring,Ihave heard this for…”ishaali again counts her fingers murmuring numbers andsays “ 10 Many times” with a pout
“But its yourstory,wouldn’t it be great to hear your story”Ruhaan asked looking at his smartdaughter
“Yes,But I want tohear other stories too like of dora” said ishaali questioning ruhaan on why hedoesn’t tell any other stories
“Hmmm…Dora?Who’sdora” asked ruhaan completely clueless on who dora was
“You don’t knowpapa…She comes in TV With map and there is fox and bag and….”as ishaaliexplains who dora is ruhaan fondly looks at his daughter and caresses her hair…

It had been 3 yearsof their marriage,all good and happy but mishti always felt that something wasmissing in their life,unknown feeling of surrounded her every night andwhenever she saw kids play she yearned to have one….
What could be thelongest time period of women’s life,it’s probably the time when she waits tohear that news
“Should I,No…Lasttime it was a negative” Mishti thought as she stared at the pregnancy kit..
“Maybe this time itwould show positive…I hope its positive” she said as she took the stick andwent inside the washroom
After few minutesMishti comes out and looks at the stick,Her anticipation just grew stronger andshe started to tremble…Looking onto the stick felt like the longest time of herlife
Mishti patiently heldonto the stick her heart beat faster than ever and her fingers trembled,”Please2 lines,2 lines” is what came out of her mouth,Slowly the lines began toappear,scared that it would be negative she closed,but slowly opens her eyesand looks at it..Her eyebrows raised as she saw the lines…Yes it was a positiveone….
Looking at thestick,mishti just froze ,all her yearning ended that moment only happinesssurrounded her and tears began to escape her eyes…the most beautiful feelinggrew inside her..
“I am going to be amother….Ruhaan and my baby” mishti said ,excitement just started to grow andshe began to walk here and there before finally picking up the phone to callruhaan
“No,No…I think Ishould wait for him to come home…in meanwhile I will confirm with the doctor…Yesits better I will confirm with the doctor and tell him” mishti said she pickedher bag and left for the hospital
*Telling Ruhaan*
Mishti had checked withthe doctor and they confirmed that indeed she was 2 months pregnant..Afterreaching home mishti wonders how to tell this to ruhaan,she comes up withvarious ideas but finds it all odd..
“Ruhaan,I amexpecting..No No,that’s too direct” mishti thought
“Ruhaan,Its time foryou to become a bit more responsible..What am I saying he’s already responsibleenough..Urgggh..How do I tell him” mishti thought again
*Door Bell*
As she hears the doorbell,She panics and begins to wander here and there before finally reaching thedoor
“Ruhaan!” she said asshe opened the door and looked at him lovingly
Ruhaan Surprised byher strange tone “Why were you expecting someone else”
“No..No..It was youwhom I expected” Mishti said as she held ruhaan’s hand and dragged him to theirbedroom
“Come,I havesomething to talk about” she said while holding his hand,Ruhaan happy but findsher beahviour today a bit odd
“What is sheupto”Ruhaan thought
Entering theirroom,Mishti looks at their photo wall and takes ruhaan along with him…
“Ruhaan,What do youthink about these photos on the wall” she eagerly asked him
“Its good…Why are youasking me this?”he asked back
“Its just I felt likeasking,Its god okay but don’t you think that something is missing in this wall”mishti asked again as she dropped a hint
Ruhaan observes thephotos and looks for the missing something,”No…Its perfect...I carefullyselected these photos..I don’t think anything is missing”
“Look at itproperly,There is something that is missing” Mishti said again
Ruhaan confused “No…Idon’t think so”
“Urghhh…Okay soMr.Ruhaan,Have you ever thought that a baby photo would look good on this wallwith other photos”Now that’s a big hint,I am sure mishti would hit him if hegot this hint wrong
“Baby photo?!”Ruhaanstood there all confused and wondered what it was that mishti was trying totell him
Looking at lost andconfused ruhaan was enough for mishti to conclude that ruhaan dint get what shewas trying to say,Finally irritated “I don’t believe you how many hints do Ihave to give you to tell you that I ampregnant”
“I am pregnant”was the only word that ruhaancaught,”Pregnant!Really”Ruhaan’s happiness knew no bound as he heard it..
Excited he goestowards a still miffed mishti,hugs and lifts her….”Mishti,I am so happy”
Embarrased and shywhat ruhaan did mishti’s gloomy face soon begins to blush
“Ruhaan,Put medown….”She said
*Telling Everyone*
The next day Ruhaanand mishti had asked radhika,Sukhmani,Pari,arnav and Ansh to come home as theyhad something to tell..
All gathered….Mishtiand ruhaan looked at each other before mishti signaled ruhaan to tell that bignews
Ruhaan happily standsand looks at everyone,”Hmmm….I don’t believe I am stuck”
He looks at radhikaand sukhmani and says “You both are gonna become Par Dadi(Great grandmother)”
Hearing it Radhikaand sukhmani became happy and came near mishti,”I am so happy for you beta”radhika said as sukhmani slowly caressed mishti’s hair
Arnav and anshcongratulate Ruhaan,While the ladies start to pamper Mishti,Pari too excitedbegins to tease Mishti,Mishti smiles and holds pari’s ear “Remember that youalso have to go through this”
Pari blushes andlooks at arnav who also looked at her…Arnav signals her that he too wants ababy…Pari blushes further…
*Books,Cravings and Shopping*
Its 5 months andmishti’d dresses doesn’t fit her anymore….
While Ruhaan reads abook,MIshti tries some clothes and nothing fits her…
“This book sayspregnant ladies have cravings,and it should not be ignored”Said ruhaan as helooked at mishti
“Mishti,Do you wantanything?”Ruhaan asked immediately
“Yes,Some newdresses” Mishti said as she looked at ruhaan and showed that her old cothes dintfit her…
“Ohhh…Okay…Lets Gothen..” ruhaan said as he took his car keys
At ShoppingMall,After shopping ruhaan takes all the bags and walks along with mishti
That very nightmishti has troubles sleeping,She begins to crave and unable to sleep wakes ruhaanup…
“Ruhaan…Ruhaan..Wakeup” she said
Hearing mishti,Ruhaansuddenly wakes up “The baby’s coming” he blurted
“No…There’s stilltime for that”Said mishti as she giggled
Ruhaan looks ather,”Stop it,stop giggling…What happened?”
“Ruhaaaan…I want toeat fruit salad Now” mishti said making a puppy face
“Fruitsalad….Now?Okay I will make one for you” Ruhaan said as he went to kitchen formaking one
After few minutes hecomes with 2 bowls and gives it mishti to eat
“One is enough”Mishtisaid as she started eating it,”Yummm….It so Goood”
“It had to be I madeit with all love” said ruhaan as he looked at mishti lovingly
*Weight Gain*
Its 7 th month andmishti had gained weight…
Mishti looks into themirror and looks at her tummy…
“Ruhaan,How do Ilook” asked Mishit looking at Ruhaan who was ready to click mishti
Zooming his cameraat mishti,He said “Beautiful as always”
“As always?” mishtiasked
Keeping his cameraaside,Ruhaan goes to Mishti,He turns her to face the mirror,Hugs her frombehind and says “Right now,You are the most beautiful person”Saying so heplaced his hand on her tummy and said “And the strongest too”

8 months passed…Whowants what,A girl or a boy
Ruhaan patientlylooks at mishti as she writes names on a mini notebook
“ Have youdecided….”Ruhaan asked
“No….i have writtenso many names but I am not satisfied “she said looking at ruhaan
“Hmm…”Ruhaan slowlygoes near her,Takes her pen and writes an name

“Ishaali….”Mishti spelled…smiling she looks at ruhaan “Okay this isfor girl,What if it’s a Boy”

“Mishaan…”Mishti spelled and smiled yet again,she looked at ruhaanand smiled as if she knew he would write these two names…
Smiling she asks howhe thought of these 2 names,Ruhaan looks at her says that how mishti’s parentsare important to her and how much she misses them “You know Ishaali iscombination of Maa and papa’s name and Mishaan is also but it also is acombination of our names as well”
As she heard it,tearsdropped,She flipped a few pages back and showed something to ruhaan
Ruhaan looks at itand hugs Mishti,as she hugged him she looks at the book

Ruhaan opens the doorand finds mishti and pari standing,More than happy ruhaan is shocked to findthem,What is ruhaan hiding
“Mishti,What are yoydoing here all of sudden” Ruhaan asked as he blocked her way
“I forgot somethingso I came to take it…” said mishti as she thought that ruhaan behaved strangely
“What is it tell me Iwill get that for you” he said as he tried to block her from entering theirbedroom
“No..Its okay I willtake it..” mishti said as she shoved ruhaan and walked towards their Bedroom,asshe enters the room and tries to open the cupboard,ruhaan blocks her yetagain,now fully suspicious mishti stares at ruhaan
“Tell me What youwant,I will take it out” ruhaan said as he sheepishly smiled
With her suspiciosmood on “What are hiding Ruhaan” mishti asked as she tried to shove himaway,But ruhaan was strong enough and did not move
“Pari,Help me out abit” mishti asked as both together pulled ruhaan away from the cupboard,mishtiquickly opens it and is shocked to find something
“RUHAAN,What arethese!” mishti said as she looked at the baby girls dresses,shoes and someaccessories till 4 years old
Pari looked andstarted to giggle “So Jiju wants a Girl Ha”
“You know I justbought few things in advance” Ruhaan said
“Few Things…itsentirely filled with it…and you say few things and how are so sure that it willbe a girl,What if it’s a boy” asked mishti stared at ruhaan
“No big problem Iwill keep these till for the next time” said ruhaan
“RUHAAN!” mIshit saidas pari laughed silently
*The Wait*
9 Monthspassed,ruhaan sits next to mishti and asks her something but mishti obliges it
“I said no,Youcant”Mishti denied ruhaan for something,But what is it
“Mishti…Please…”pleased ruhaan again
“No Ruhaan…I don’twant you there” mishti firmly denied him this time
“But why,Why cant Ibe with you during your labor,as you husband I want to be with you..”Ruhaansaid as he literally pleaded her with his eyes
“Ruhaan…I know youwant to and even know you have always been my side but you...but .i don’t wantyou inside,I want you to be by Dadi and Pari’s side and be their strength thattime…You know they are very sensitive when it comes to me…and don’t worrysukhmani bua will be by me side that day”
“But mishti”Ruhaansaid
“Ruhaan,I want yououtside and tell them that everything will be alright…Now sleep” Mishti said asshe took her blanket to sleep
At midnight,Mishtifeels something and wakes up ruhaan
“The baby’scoming”Ruhaan asked as he jerked up from the bed
“Yessss!”Mishti said
“Yes?...Yesss!”Ruhaanbegan to panic and walked here and there before finally waking everyone andgoing to the hospital
At the hospital,Thedoctor says that there’s still time and that its usual to feel this wayrelieving ruhaan and others
The same week mishtisays it coming and they rush to hospital yet again only to know that there’sstill time
*The Wait is Over*
As Mishti stood inkitchen eating something she felt something and said to Radhika who wasstanding next to her that the baby is finally coming,Radhika calms her down andand immediately calls sukhamni ansh andpari to take mishti to hospital..
On their way theycall ruhaan and arnav,and asks them to come to the hospital
As Ruhaan reacheshospital radhika,Pari and ansh impatiently wait outside and wait
“It will be okay”Ruhaan said as he sat next to radhika and held her hand and looks at the OT..
*The door opens,thenurse takes the baby to other,Sukhamni comes out and says with a smile
“It’s a Girl”Sukhmani says
Excited everyonewants to see both mother and daughter but sukhmani stops them and says to waitfor a bit…
After few hours aftershifting mishti and handing the baby to her,evberyone gathers around them…
Ruhaan looks at Hisdaughter and mishti,he caresses mishti’s hair “It’s a Girl,It’s a Girl…Mishti”,Whileradhika takes the baby…Ruhaan gently kisses mishti’s forehead waking herup…Seeing mishti open her eyes radhika shows the girl to mishti…Mishti smiles…
*Ishaali,Look here*
After a month,thenaming ceremony took place and after 3 months ruhaan places ishaali on a blanket to click her,
As he goes back tohis position ruhaan would always find ishaali winding up all the blanket aroundher…He again arranges it,but as he goes to his position the blanket would becrumbled..this goes on for a while before ruhaan finally gives and clicksishaali as she held the tip of the blanket in her hand….

“You both,go tosleep…Its already too late” Mishti said as she asked them to sleep
“Okay Mom” saidRuhaan and ishaali togther
Mishti says andleaves as she had some work
“Okay Ishaali…Sleepnow..”Ruhaan says as he caresses her hair
“Love you Papa”Ishaali said as she began to fall asleep
“Love you 1000times”Ruhaan said smiling
“Love you 2000 times”ishaali said before completely falling asleep
“2000 Times ah”Ruhaan smiled and looked at his daughter and surprised that she knew what 2000was
As she fellasleep,Ruhaan goes to the kitchen were mishti is washing the dishes,he standsnext to her and says “You know my daughter loves me 2000 times,It variesgreatly since you only loved me till 1000”
Mishti who washes theplates keeps it and looks at ruhaan smiling”Really,Okay then..here” said mishtias she handed over the plate and walks away
“Wash the rest forme..I will go sleep” said mishti as she walked to their bedroom to sleep besideishaali
“What?!”Ruhaansaid,but he washes them and goes to their bedroom to find the mother anddaughter sleeping peacefully…
“Love You both morethan 3000 times” Ruhaan said lovingly looking at both
“Same papa”Mishti andishaali said at the same time in their sleep,Ruhaan smiles and sleeps
