Padmavat may not be female driven film but it's opening day is due to Deepika's star power along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The later success is due to Ranveer's Khilji being liked and the positive WOM spread due to that. Shahid also performed well. Infact he gave the best performance of all but he doesn't interest.

And Piku might not have had a big opening but was a niche film and Deepika's star power made it a hit

🤣 She was the worst part of the movie. If anything I would be embarrassed to use Padmavaat as an example considering she was just a showpiece in it.

Sure and ranveer wasn't part of ram leela and bajirao mastani. So he just appeared in a SLB -DP movie just like shahid. To think that ranveer was the most impressive one in BM so people looked forward to his performance and again it was him who shined in padmavaat.
And as I remember khilji first look created a lot buzz.
Too much delusion is not good.
You can't compare a raazi or all Kanganas movie with padmavaat opening.
Or just wait for deepikas next then you can really Start compare her starpower with other actresses

But it wasn't even the top 35 biggest opening day of Indian cinema.
Nor was it among the top 15 biggest weekends.
