Chapter 59: On the flipside of a curse

'Ok that's done. Neil sure you draw up a new contract with the changes the client asked for and Sasha re-evaluate the model' Maan asked walking out the conference room after the Skype talk with the clients, he then stopped at the lobby dismissing the members but nodding at Adi to wait.

'Adi I'm leaving now. Make sure you inform Vicky of the changes, I'll text him too. I expect you to overlook everyone's work while I am away. 'No mistake' he instructed looking at his phone which ticked close to 7:30, the meeting was earlier than usual due to his commitments to Geet but thankfully the clients agreed and now he had the day to romance his wife, and then followed by a 4 more on foreign shores.

'Sure sir' Adi swiftly agreed seeing how eager Maan was to walk out the office premises. Apart from him, no one knew of Maan's mini-honeymoon plan.

'I'll drive' Maan ordered getting the keys from Ramu (driver) and immediately set the SatNav to Geet's Hoshyarpur address. In a few hours Geet and he will be together. Together, side by side.

'Morning gorgeous' Vicky kissed climbing on top of his waking wife, he then tipped down so there lips met in harmony and love.

'Let's go out today' he asked Meera, she still lay in bed as he went about getting ready for work.

'Hmmm that would be nice' Meera snuggled pulling the duvet closer to her chest as Vicky closed the space between them, placing a delicate kiss to the forehead before waving out the room. Both in glorious smiles, love makes life beautiful.

An electrocuting pain stemmed within Sameera, so sharp that it crippled her to the floor. With the topple, the half empty glass bottle flew spilling the content on the carpeted floor around her. A hand still rested against the empty glass as another landed on her paining stomach.

'Baby' she gasped, low shallow and pain-filled as her legs pushed closer forming a foetal position. She squirmed in pain some more until she left the glass and tried crawling closer to the phone.

'Adee...' she whispered trying to fight against the excruciating pain

'Maa...' she held as her lids grew heavy, black clouds appeared in front and her moving hands seized in position as unconsciousness took over.

'Sir shall we...?' the driver stopped, Adeel sat beside angry and hurt for the longest. He tried being quiet while his boss fretted but now he was over an hour that they rested on the hard-shoulder, near the sign post that read HOSYAPUR. In a second, they would be out of the town yet it seemed his boss couldn't decide.

'I'm not like him' he assured himself as the picture of his lovely mother lay in his hands, he didn't want a fate like his fathers. Geet seemed to be scared, but what caught his eyes was the love she held for Maan. Adeel remembered those hazels orbs propelling, it was easy for someone like him to recognise love after all he has living in a drought; with no love or care for so many years.

'I won't force her' he finally silenced the storm within, with a flick of a finger he indicated the driver to start the ignition and before he could change his mind, they were speeding out of her town, and maybe even her life. His plans of abducting, of keeping her against her will was something which maybe the former Adeel would have believed in, but right now the aim to be different from his father was way more imperative than having a Geet in his life. Did the hate for his father win over the love he had for Geet? 'Maybe it did' his heart answered as he rested his head backwards and a shutter closed over his beating heart. Love wasn't for him, it seemed.

Geet continued running, running as fast as could, heading for home. Adeel and his words, the drunk men and their action speeding through forcing her legs to run faster, if possible.

'Giving up already' something asked from the inside and she stopped abruptly almost crashing into a female

'Are you ok?' the friendly neighbour asked

'Ha ... ha ... Mein ..teek hoon' she answered broken between the surges of air, once the female smiled she bent over and inhaled deeply trying to reduce the oxygen dept. Her body ached in places now, her legs feeling tired once the fear was rejected. Suddenly her ears caught the giggles of small children and like a yoyo, the strings pulled her to the centre of a field, small children played as their mothers worked nearby. She sat on the hard earth in confusion, the warmth spreading through her blood as the glazed run radiated in delight. Geet didn't want to go back to Delhi like this, she has worked too hard to be the same old Geet. She wanted that freedom to choose, to walk without fear, to be independent. Could mere words and some action finish that quest? 'NO' she answered with a soft smile forming, yes she was still scared but liberation wasn't completely side-lined. However, with the arrival of Adeel she realised one thing, no matter what she wanted to be with Maan. With all his faults, his lack of awareness, his anger, his care, his love; she wanted him; all of him. He was the first man to have her heart, first to make her feel like a woman and now she couldn't imagine a world without him. He was her first and her last.

Maan had just driven into Hosyapur, as suggested by the sign post when a girl caught his sight. She wore a yellow salwar kameez, her hair braided in a side plait, her face turned down at her lap where a few flowers rested. Everything told him of his Geet, stopping the car at a near distance he walked out in daze. Geet' he whispered; a smile and a frown, keeping away from Geet had been hard and now when she's in front, the heart was confused. Was this a dream? Was she really waiting for him at the entrance of her town?

'Geet' the winds whispered halting her hands that played with the closed jasmine, the bud fell through her fingers as she looked up shocked seeing him walking to her and before she could register her action, she was already standing on her feet and running calling his name.

'Maan' the joy was evident as he widened his arms allowing her body to crash into his hold, lifting her up due to the collision and then twirled in a squeal; feeling her body safely tucked into him.

'Oh I missed you' he confessed putting her down, but still in a strong hug. Her flushing face in the crook on his neck, as he moved his head down to her shoulder, calming those quivering lips as it reached the blanket of her skin near the neckline. They stayed like that for a while, his lips ascending along her jaw and hands wrapped securely around her delicate waist, while hers was around his neck holding a delicate shy smile.

'I love you so much Geet' he confessed again pulling an arms-length away, her face contorted in dislike as his hands went to hold her face in passion, a thump caressing the blush that appeared. The thump was then replaced by his lips, a slow loving show of kisses.

'I love you so much that living without you is impossible now' he added moving away, so their foreheads touched in consent as he face moved closer until her lips met his finally. Soft winds fanned the raw need to drive in, lightly he pushed into her mouth as her intertwined hand pushed his head down breaking his last patience. The soft slow kiss was evolving into a passionate one, one of longing and true love. Once breathing became a necessity, they pulled apart; her hands travelled down to his waist as his remained on her chubby face kissing every inch of skin; the feel of her warmed blush was devastatingly sweet that it was becoming impossible to him to stop.

'I love you Maan' she finally confessed as she placed her face over his heart, as if implanting herself there forever and he smiled big. His Geet loved him, he loved her, and they loved each other.
