Rejection
"Do you have someone you like, Maan asked. "Well...I.., before she could say his phone beeped and he looked into that again. This time it irked Geet and she snatched his phone. "Hey what are you doing give it back ...it could be..., before he could complete Geet interrupted him. "The one I love is you ..., She said shocking him.
"What...,He mumbled. "I..love you ...I know you love someone else but ..., She said. "I'm sorry, I think it must have been a mistake on my side to give you any wrong signals ...sorry and I think I should take the sole responsibility of Inu too...I'm sorry to get you involved, He said. They heard Inu bark but before Geet could pick him up Maan took him and turned his back to her, "Inu ...I will be the one in charge of you from now on Geet can't come from now on. Saying this he went in leaving Geet in tears. The tears were more as she understood now she will never play with Inu again.
On the other hand, Maan was shaken by her confession. Her words rang in his head. Inu and their parents were unaware of this tiff between the two. "That moron, I will break his four eyes once and for all...that Trisha is not even pretty like you forget about being sweet...that is just a mask she wears and this idiot fell for that, Meera said. "You know her, Geet asked. "Sure I know her, this moron and I have been together since kindergarten and that girl joined our class later. While she was really weird she used to show only her sweet tooth to everyone and they just fell for that, She told. "May be she is nice to him, we shouldn't say bad things for anyone,Geet said. "You are too innocent Geet, but we know her, They said.
Maan was now confused and depressed after Geet left. He was now used to her presence. His phone rang but Inu took it from him. "Inu give it back, He said. After a lot of struggle he got his phone to see a call from Trisha. He looked at it and again Geet's words rang through his head. He didn't know what to do. Geet was coming back from school when she heard Inu bark. She looked over the fence to see Inu happily barking seeing her. She looked around to see if Maan was near him but she didn't see him around so went up to Inu. "Hello Inu..., She said. Inu ran back and Geet was disappointed. "It looks like he also forgot me and it is only been a week, She thought. Inu proved her wrong when he bought the things they used to take when they went for a walk.
You want to go out..., She asked and he barked happily. She was going to lift him up but Maan came by and picked him up instead. "I'm sorry...I have been unfair to you and Inu...I'm sorry for that..you can come by like you did regularly and we can take care of Inu like we did.As for Trish.., before he could complete he was cut by Geet.
"I will take him for walks whether you like it or not but I want you to remember what I said earlier don't act like nothing happened..let's go Inu, She said. Maan was stunned with her words but happy that he did the right thing to let her take care of Inu. His mobile rang and he picked up,Hello."Hi Maan, how have you been ...I'm coming tomorrow we can meet at our usual place, He heard Trisha. "Alright..., He said. "Aren't you excited to meet me, She asked. "Why do you think so ...I'm happy to hear from you, Maan said. "Alright then we can meet tomorrow, She said disconnecting the call.
Next day, Maan told Geet that he is going to meet Trisha so she can take Inu for a walk and drop him back like usual. Geet's friend Pari heard that and suggested she should follow him in secret though against the suggestion Geet thought to follow him with Inu. She saw him waiting in the cafe and looked at him secretly. Inu barked looking at his owner but Geet asked him to keep quiet. "Shh...Inu we are playing detectives so don't bark okay, She said. "That girl hasn't come, She thought when she heard a noise and saw a pretty girl looking in the same direction where Maan was sitting.
"Excuse me, Geet said making the girl look her way as if she was caught red handed. "Are you waiting for someone, She asked again having recognized her to be Trisha. She saw her photograph in Meera's class photograph albums but decided not to show that she knew who she was.
I...no...actually that boy there he is my boyfriend...but I think that he is not really happy to meet me like I am and may be I doubt he has another girlfriend, She said making Geet furious for her to doubt Maan but she tried maintaining her cool. "I think you should go to him and ask the same if you have a doubt. A doubt is like a double edged sword it hurts both people so I think you should ask him, Geet said. Trisha thought of her words and understood that she was right, "Thank you ...I will ask him. Saying this she went to meet Maan while Geet looked on to this girl she met...who wasn't even guilty of doubting the person she claimed to love.
"Maan, She smiled. "Hi Trisha, how have you been, He said. "I'm sorry for being late well no actually the fact is that I thought that you were involved with some girl so .., Trisha said but was cut by him. "So you were spying ..., He said. "I..I'm sorry its just that your response from yesterday and all got a toll on me, She said. "I'm raising Inu with a girl...her name is Geet, He said looking up straight to her. "You didn't mention her in any of the diaries you updated ...why, She asked.
"You still want an answer to that why Trisha after you just spied on me...I hurt that girl and here you are doubting me, He said. He couldn't believe what kind of a person he was claiming to love...now he thought again...was she really his love...before he could dwell on that question further he heard her. "I'm sorry, please give me another chance ...how about we celebrate your birthday tomorrow...and make this right, She said. He nodded but the question about her spying him was bothering him and it made him question himself...did he love her.
