Recently, she was felicitated at the 34th
Priyadarshini Academy Global Awards and
was given the Smita Patil Award.
For the event, Anushka chose to wear an
emerald green and gold saree which was
made by local artisans. She wore this as a
part of promotions of her upcoming film
Sui Dhaaga- Made In India. The actress
accessorised her look with a gold
necklace. She tied her hair in a bun and
minimal makeup made her look even
more radiant.
While she was receiving the prestigious
award, the 30-year-old actress revealed
that she has not prepared a speech, but
she will speak from her heart. Anushka
added that it a great honour for her to
have lived and witnessed the work of the
iconic actress Smita Patil. "I really
appreciate and admire her and needless
to say it's a great honour to receive the
Smita Patil Award by the Priyadarshani
Academy," she added.
The Sultan star added, "Thank you,
everybody, thank you to the academy for
considering me for this. I also feel like it's
very special because I complete 10 years
in the industry today so receiving an
award like this in a huge way validates
the choices that I have made. I don't come
from this industry. I don't have anyone
who could have guided me too much. My
parents don't know anything about the
work that I do apart from the films that I
do. It really is a huge validation for the
sometimes different, sometimes mad
choices I have made in my career."
