I think my Filipina wife is being too family-oriented

I have been married to this Filipina woman for more than 4 years now and ever since she got here in the US, she has been sending money to her family. She's paying for her nieces' school fees as well as giving her siblings money for their daily needs. Are Philippine women really this family-oriented? Isn't this a bit too much?
