Chapter 26: What is on the cards?

"Yo dude, you need to bring my special punch mix directly to my room and only my room. Hide it under your shirt, no one can tell under your belly." instructed Rudy to his friend in hushed tones. "No, don't tell Sumo, she will literally water down the fun," he added.

Ha! What fun would it be to loosen some Oberoi tongues with his special punch mix! thought Rudy. He could predict what would happen. Prinku would easily get drunk and then dance around a bit and then fall asleep. O would get more philosophical and voice his inner self, well he always did do that, but at least the poetry would get silly instead of serious. Shivay bhaiya would still be stern, honestly he couldn't remember what happened when Shivay bhaiya got drunk, hmm, why was that??well he would find out today. His darling Sumo would get drunk and hungry. Well maybe today they can talk. She was avoiding him lately, he knew that, he would find out why. Besides, the two of them had to see Mallika and Anika didi drunk. Wonder how that would be?Oh what fun! thought Rudy and proceeded to plan and plot his mischief.

"Girls, my friend asked if we could give her new collection a try and asked if we could wear some of her pieces this evening. Since it is a small impromptu party, we can doll up a little." said Mallika. She had this plan, she was sure there was more between Anika and Shivay than what either acknowledged. She needed few props to put her plan into action.

"Dress up! Yay!" chorused Tia and Prinku.

Smiling to herself Mallika made few calls and got her plans started.

"Girls see, look at my purple jacket! So cute na?!" said Tia. "I love purple, after we get married, I am getting Shivay's room painted purple!" declared Tia will blowing herself a kiss as she twirled in front of the mirror.

Mallika and Prinku inaudibly gasped, the former in amusement and the latter in fear. "Wow, Mallika didi, this patchwork coat is so pretty" said Saumya as she preened in front of the mirror. "Saumya, you lost weight didn't you?" asked Mallika. "Yeah, a little, I have a friend who is into fitness and he is giving me tips to maintain a healthy weight." said Saumya. "But, Saumya you would never agree to lose weight when Rudy bhaiya teased you and you never agreed to let him train you right?" asked Prinku. "Well Prinku, Rudy would rather I become toothpick thin or have the muscle tone like Bhavya does. Now I am all in for being healthy, but I wouldn't want to lose my curves to satisfy a mainstream body stereotype. That is a point always lost on Rudy!" said Saumya.

"Umm, girls.." came Anika's nervous voice, "How do I look?" she asked as she stepped out of the changing area. "Oh wow!" said Saumya, Prinku and Tia in unison while Mallika let out a whistle. "Look who has their glam game on!" said Mallika as Anika let out a nervous giggle. "Wow Anika didi, this black maxi suits you so well! said Saumya. "Yes Anika, the halter accentuates your shoulders." complemented Tia, "You should wear more halters," she added. "Yeah, haha they would certainly entertain the men in my colony who ogle the female of any species," replied Anika, "But I am glad to be wearing it today, I feel so movie heroine types!" said Anika.

Mallika did a little celebratory dance in her head. Having dated Shivay in their youth, she remembered enough of his tastes to know that he would react to the transformed Anika. Sure, he would not let anyone know and maintain a poker face. But Anika's bare back and her wonderful bone structure accentuated by the halter neck, would certainly heat something up.

Shivay was annoyed. What was the deal with Rudy's party?How juvenile! Despite being friends with Saumya, his young baby refused to grow up. Maybe it was time for him to step up and discipline Rudy a little. Get him involved in the Oberoi Business. He could let him start with the Oberoi's entertainment divisions, maybe their IPL team. That would be certainly better than sending him to their production company. The next thing he wanted was for Rudy to party with bollywood heroines. That would certainly do him no good.

Just then his phone beeped, a text from Tia, "Hi Baby, come on down, can't wait to read your cards. I will start with you first!xoxo." God! Seriously?? Why?? Tia seemed sensible, but this obsession with the occult made no sense to him. "Read my cards, Yeah right!" snorted Shivay as he thought about it. "Well best to go and get it done with! he thought and proceeded to step out.

"Wow Tia, what is this?" asked Anika as Tia began to spread out cards in a semi circle. "This is my Tarot deck Anika!" said Tia. "Taar.. what?" asked Anika. "Tarot! these cards help me make predictions about the future!" explained Tia. "Oh jyotish, great! and you do not even need a tota for it!" exclaimed Anika. "A tota?what is that?" asked Tia.

"That is something, useless con artists do to dupe stupid people." came an arrogant reply. Hearing Shivay speak, Anika jerked and turned, and as she did so her curly hair that covered her back shifted, exposing a long back to Shivay. As she turned slowly to face him, Shivay's heart leaped and his blood pulsed. Standing in that black halter gown, that hugged every curve up until her waist and then flowed down, teasing the length of her legs, Anika looked...Sexy!. There was no other word from his vast vocabulary that he could think of. Something primal was making its presence felt in his body. He was beginning to feel the heat of his blood, for one glorious instant his mind stopped. Stopped making all those calculations that it usual made. He could hear every beat of his heart. "Oh come on Billuji!" began Anika. "That is not entirely true, Manohar kaka's tota said I would collide with a saand that would cause me injuries. That day was when I met you! Ever since my brain has taken a beating!" said Anika cheerfully.

"Whatever!" said Shivay and proceeded to the bar. He had to get away. He needed a drink. He wanted his brain to think again. He wanted to not hear his heart beat.

It would be an interesting night!
