Part 21
Mr Bhalla - toshiji you be here and inform if someone ask for Raman ,I m also going with him .
Before toshiji says something Mr Bhalla held Raman and starting walking towards the children's ward as he wanted to check ruhi first . Soon they reached the ward ,they entered the ward only listen many cries of my babies , all were sick . They made a sorry face noticing the little kids sufferings ,then they walked towards Ruhi's bed . They reached there and saw amma was trying to make ruhi sleep while she was sobbing in her half sleep . Amma saw Raman and smiled fully on his sight ,she asked concerned " Raman kanna how are you ,come sit ".
Raman settled in bed and spoke" I m alright aunty what happened to ruhi ."
Amma (with tearful eyes)- what to say ,she is craving for you two . from the day you went ,ishita too didn't cared for ruhi as she herself was not in a state to look after ruhi . poor kid was roaming from hall to outside and was looking for you . Though you were not there but ishu was there to make her eat and sleep but today she is also sick,not finding any of you two she too got unwell and as she already had surgery in past ,doctor admitted her to keep a check on her health .
Raman's as well as Mr Bhallas and mihir's eyes turned moist listening about ,little kid sufferings . Raman opened his arms for ruhi ,amma gave ruhi to him without wasting time . He took ruhi in his arms ,kept her on his shoulder and started patting her . She was still crying ,Raman asked amma ,if she had her milk ,amma denied saying ruhi is not eating anything from morning . He told amma to make a fresh milk for ruhi ,amma does same and forwarded the bottle to him .He lays ruhi lovingly on his lap and spoke " rooh babu ,duddhu pi lo ,bhukkhu lagi hogi ".
Ruhi opened her eyes listening to him and spoke " papa ".
R(lovingly caressing her forehead )- haan babu papa ,hae your milk and sleep peacefully ,paps is with you only .
Ruhi again closed her eyes and started sucking her milk but held Raman's hand tightly . Raman kept caressing her hairs while ruhi slept peacefully after having her milk ,still holding Raman's thumb. Amma got happy seeing ruhi normal , she thanked Raman for his help when Raman spoke " aunty why are you thanking me ."
Amma - them what else I can do ,ishu talked to you so rudely then also you came here .
R- where else should I go ,these two are my life .I m nothing without them .
He spoke caressing Ruhi's hair then kissed her temple ,then both cheeks then kissed her tiny hands and legs too ,he was admiring her livingly while mihir and Mr Bhalla were noticing his deep love for the little ruhi . He was lost in ruhi when amma spoke " Raman kanna you too are injured ,give me ruhi I will make her sleep in bed ,you too go and rest ".
R- no aunty ,I m good .I will be here only with my baby .
Amma- no kanna ,you too need rest .we are here only .
Raman was again going to deny when mihir spoke " yes Raman let ruhi sleep ,I will bring ruhi to you once she will wake".
Raman then nodded and lays ruhi in the bed ,again kissed her forehead and then tried to took his hand when noticed that ruhi was still holding his thumb in her small fist . He slowly freed his thumb and then climbed from the bed and spoke" aunty ,send her to me once she wake ".
A- ok kanna .
They went from there while amma was with ruhi ,after that they went to meet ishita . They saw appa was sitting in the bench outside the ICU where ishita was . He went to appa and sat beside him ,Mr iyer saw Raman and happily asked touching his wounds " how r you Raman ,I m so sorry kanna .this all happened because of my ishu . neighter she would had chased you nor you would had coming fast for ruhi and met this accident . glad to see you ok don't do these type of acts,your parents were so scared ."
Appa's almost cried till he completed his sentence as he too was going through sane phase .
R- how is ishita .?
Mr iyer - she is not good Raman ,doctor is not saying anything ,rather he is checking her time to time for some improvement but seems ,nothing is happening for good .
R- you don't worry uncle everything will be ok .let me talk to doctor .
Mr iyer was so overwhelmed to see Raman's live for ishru as he himself was injured but still roaming in the hospital to see his girls . Though appa was trying lot to stop his tears but they were flowing continuously ,earlier in ishita's worry and now seeing Raman's deep love for ishru . He just nodded not to stress Raman more . Soon the doctor came out from ICU ,Mr iyer and Raman walked to the doctor and Mr iyer asked " Doctor how is my daughter".
D- can't tell ,as her bp is still very high ,we are trying our best but seems medicine are not working on her ,tears are always coming out from her eyes as if she is crying in her sleep too .
R(getting worried)- what do you mean to say .
D- I think she is going through a huge trauma and even though if we will control her bp,she can go to depression if her trauma is not removed .
R- no no ,nothing like this can happen, she has to be ok . how can she do this to me ,to rooh . (looking to doctor )- can I meet her .
D- yeah sure and please don't disturb her much ,rather if you can please make her easy .may be your effort can make her ok.
Raman thanked the doctor and went to ishitas room while doctor too went to other ward to complete his evening round . Mr iyer again settled in the bench ,Mr Bhalla too settled beside him and spoke " you don't worry ishita will be ok soon ".
Mr iyer saw Mr Bhalla with moist eyes ,he pressed his shoulder and spoke " I m with Raman ,you don't worry ishita will be ok and ishita ,Raman will unite ,we don't have heart to separate them after witnessing their love ."
Mr iyer folded his hands in gratitude while Mr Bhalla held his hand and spoke " don't do this ,I m already feeling embarrassed because of my wife's deed ,you please don't make me more ashamed".
Raman went inside the ICU with slow steps he saw IV was attached to ishita's body while she was laying lifelessly in the bed ,he went near and sat beside her.He held her free hand and spoke " this is good ,you make mistake and let others suffer . Now I don't want your confession that you love me or not ,its evident ishita ,you love me so much and listen ,now how much you will chase me ,I m not going to go away from you . Enough of your denying now you have to agree . "
Saying so he got up and kissed her temple softly . Then spoke "this is not done ,I met with accident ,you are supposed to take care of me and instead you yourself are lying on this hospital bed ,I m alone and injured too ,how much you too will stress me ,there rooh is not well here your bp is high ,bolo how I will manage ."
He was still talking to ishita when the nurse came to give injection to ishita and spoke " let the patient rest ,you too go to your room ,you can come and check her occasionally ".
Raman nodded and got up to go ,then he turned and spoke in ishita's ear " ishita be ok till tomorrow, we need to talk ".
Saying so he went from there ,giving the much needed zeal to her for surviving . After that,mihir and Mr Bhalla take him back to his room .He settled in the bed , Mr Bhalla too sat beside him. Raman saw his father and spoke " papa I love her a lot and I want them in my life . just fulfill my this wish ,after that I will not demand anything from you ." He almost pleaded to his father like a small kid ,Mr Bhalla smiled seeing his antic and spoke " you don't worry puttar everything will happen as per your wish ."
Raman smiled fully listening to him and hugged his father ,then Mr Bhalla told " puttar ,you have stressed yourself much, now you rest for sometimes ."
Raman nodded and lays on his bed , soon he too slept . Next morning Raman woke and saw his father was still sleeping .He got down and went directly to ishita's room ,he saw appa there and asked about ishru to him . Appa informed that ishita is much better than yesterday ,her bp is also in control . Raman smiled listening to this and asked about ruhi ,appa told that ruhi was sleeping when he went to her ward . Raman told appa to check ruhi till he will go and meet ishita ,appa nodded and went but the nurse stopped Raman saying its not the visiting time , moreover he cannot go to ICU anytime . Raman pleaded the nurse alot then she allowed him . He went inside the room and saw ishita still sleeping ,he settled beside her and called her name ,she opened her eyes listening to his voice .
She saw him and asked touching his bandaged forehead " what happened to you "
R- met with an accident .
I(comcerened )- how .?
R- just like you landed in ICU ,I banged with a truck .
I(widening her eyes in shock )- truck ! you got banged with truck.
R- don't be so scared ,it was not moving .
I- you should have taken care of you .
R- and you.
Just then ishita recalled everything ,her eyes become moist recalling everything ,she turned her face to other side and spoke " I need to rest ,I think you should go now ".
R- seems you were in deep sleep and couldn't listen me properly ,I told you we need to talk .
I- what talk ,we don't have anything to talk .
R- ok ,I m directly asking you ,why even you tried when you can't live without me .
I- nothing like that I was bit sick ,thats all.
R- can you tell me why .
I- there is no reason for sickness .
R- but you had ishita ,you had a very big reason for your sickness and it was me.
He spoke making her look at him ,she turned her face and closed her eyes , while tear rolled down from them .He clutched her hair and hissed " how stubborn you are ishita ,apni zidd mein tum ruhi ko bhi bhool gayi . you know how much she loves me but still you send me away from her ,I was okay thinking that you are her mother and will take care of her but you left her ,you know she is admitted here ."
I- (surprised )- what happened to ruhi .
how is she now .
R- don't try to show fake concern for her ishita ,you know you failed as a mother . you don't deserve any of us neighter me nor ruhi . you live with your arrogance and give ruhi to me ".
He vented his anger and frustration on her ,she was just listening to him closing her eyes tightly while tears were continuously flowing from both pairs of eyes . She was not trying to free herself rather letting him hurt her while he was feeling totally broken when Raman asked again with a broken voice " will you be able to live without us ".
Ishita opened her eyes and saw him ,both shared and intense eyelock . she so wanted to throw herself into his arms and say that she can't live without him but toshiji's talk was still in her mind . She was fighting with herself her mind was stopping her while her heart wanted to surrender herself to him . Both were still in same position when they heard " no she can't but she is not able to accept your love ".
