Hello IBians,
Over the past several days we've noticed that there has been a lot of counter reporting and blame game ever since the EDT got a warning. For everyone's sake, we would like to point out a few important points.
EDT = episode discussion thread
- This is not a chat thread.
- This is not an appreciation thread.
- It is meant to discuss episodes.
- You can criticize, you can give your opinions, you can suggest future tracks without mocking the show or any of the characters or actors, you can discuss past episodes and how they led to this point, etc.
- You cannot just post pics and say "oh xyz is looking so cute", you cannot chat for lengths on ends but a simple "hi" is allowed once in a while if someone has suddenly returned to the EDT after a long time, you cannot bash people for their opinions or gang up on someone if they say that they didn't like the episode, you cannot force people to edit their comments if they comment negatively if it isn't against IF rules, etc.
AT = appreciation thread
- We allow some chatting in here, but say a page or so. Anything over than that and take it to the Chat Clubs forum or the chat thread on IB forum.
- You can discuss episodes here as long as it relates to the character(s) the AT is on. So if it's the Shrenu AT, you can discuss scenes with Gauri in it.
- The AT is not meant for bashing other characters, but if you have a comment or opinion on the character(s) the AT is about by all means go ahead and discuss it.
- You are allowed to discuss future tracks revolving around the character(s) the AT is about. For example if it is the Shivika AT, you can discuss what future tracks could happen around Shivika.
- You are not allowed to discuss other members of the forum.
Report button
- If you feel something is against rules, then report it, but don't keep hitting the report button on every reply thereafter. If you feel there are a certain number of pages against IF rules, then report the first post and say "pages 12 to 15 are doing the same" at the end of your report.
- Do not just report a post because you think it's instigating. That isn't against IF rules. The post needs to actually have something against IF rules that it's considered instigating. The reason we say this is because instigating is your opinion. 99% of the posts reported as such are usually fine, it's just because of the whole Shivika vs. Rikara fandom that a post appears instigating.
- Do not abuse the report button. If you've reported a post, leave it. We will get to it within 24 hours. If you don't see any action on the post within 24 hours of your report, then it means the post is fine. Reporting the same post 10 times is not going to get us to take action against it or get us on it any faster.
Questions/concerns for mods
- If you have questions or concerns then PM us.
- If you feel it's something Athene is doing wrong, then PM BilliCat. and vice versa.
- If you feel both of us are wrong, then PM the Global Moderators.
- You are not allowed to question moderators in public because we do not discuss the actions and/or reports in public.
Blame game
- This blame game really needs to stop. The EDT does not have action taken against it just because some Rikara fans reported it. Similarly the Rikara AT does not have action taken against it just because some Shivika fans reported it. If it's been reported, that's fine. We take the decision as to whether something is actually against IF rules or not. 10 fans could report one post and if we deem it to be fine, it's fine. But if 1 fan reports another post and we deem it to be against IF rules, then it's against IF rules and we take action. We don't care who reported or how many reports have been made.
- The blame game in the forum also needs to stop. How do you know for sure who the higher TRPs are because of? Or how do you know for sure that the TRPs fell because of one couple over another? Celebrate the TRP rises and discuss the TRP falls, but stop blaming each other over it.
One more point. If you know a post of yours will be taken down by a mod, then don't make it. If you do, then you're basically saying that you don't care about rules. If that's the case then we believe a WL would be a suffice response to your basic disregard for rules, so don't complain over a WL if you get one in the future over such a post.
We know and understand that in the flow of things sometimes rules are hard to follow, but you need to start making these rules a part of your everyday discussions and the problems will disappear themselves.
