Chapter 40 : Old Pals!

While visiting the large fish aquarium Maan was only missing his adorable Mishti. The last fight they had it took a toll on him. And not to mention he had to come here so abruptly, leaving her all isolated without him!!
Should he have taken her with him on his trip? Well, that would have been relaxing to him but exhausting for his little doll.
But he would have been pestering her a lot which would have made him so delighted and at least would not make him feel so deserted without her serene dimples!
In his mind, he was already planning a vacation with Geet while Sameera was intently looking at him! Little did Maan know what she was sketching!
"Maan...Agar Dev Annie bhi yaha hotey toh kitna maza aata hain naa... Sameera's voice peered over his thinking session!
"Umm... She heeded him letting a small filler sound!
"Maan...Kiya huwa...Tum itne chup chup kyun ho... Looking at him with a slight frown she asked and stopped her moving legs but he was not looking at her rather was gazing upon the flashy water with great detail!
"Nahin...Kuch nahin...Hey look..Is that a mandarin fish...It's damn gorgeous... Sameera followed his raised fingers and saw a very bright colorful fish was swirling through the illuminating water!
"Ha ha ha...Gorgeous?? The excited voice of Maan made her chuckle instantly, he can be really cute at times like this!
"Oh please...It is...Look from the eyes of the fish... He pouted and whined at her, later smiled as well!
"Aww...I didn't know you are a fish now... Sameera teased him furthermore, she was enjoying his happy face, these happy moments to the fullest!
"Well, I am right now...Having that spirit! Fish spirit..Yeah, I know...Don't say that silly lame joke as in that's so fishy Maan... Maan flashed his beautiful smile and got engrossed in the fishes again while Sameera got busy in drooling on him!
Damn! How does he maintain to look so handsome even after such hectic schedules! That's a mystery! Does he even know how much he is turning her on with those profound eyes of his!
And why is he maintaining this distance when nobody is here to examine their proximity! Shouldn't he take her into his arms! Afterall he loves her right!
Immersed in her thoughts she didn't realize when she grabbed his arms while walking! And Maan was in an awkward situation perceiving that Sameera might be in a good mood and mistakenly held his arms! He gingerly tried to get free from her clutch but she was not leaving his arms! What is wrong with her!
But then again he didn't pay much heed to that or didn't have much time before initiating a strong protest because Sameera suddenly screamed with a loud happy expression seeing some friend of hers! Finally, Maan was released from her hold! As he followed her gaze he saw three people walking in their direction with broad smiles!
With the good luck, Maan's face too beamed with happiness when he realized that it was Ranbir, Shweta, Abhishek, Aayan and Shilpa- amongst the five three of them were his and Sameera's college friends!
To his knowledge Ranbir is engaged with Shweta and Shilpa is Ranbir's sister who just got married last year!
They all greeted each other and it was a call for celebration since old friends have met unexpectedly! Ranbir and Aayan introduced Maan and Sameera with Shilpa and Abhishek.
So they all went to a nearby lounge. Talking about random stuff and perceiving all the latest happening in each other's life.
For a change, Maan who is an introvert was having a good time since time flew so much and he was constantly thinking about how things have developed in all their lives! Also one of the reasons of his joy was Aayan, who is a very good friend of Maan, one of his college friends with whom he is still connected and sometimes talks as well! Finding Aayan among that lot was extremely refreshing for Maan since because of their work commitments both can't meet and keeps planing and scraping that plan afterward!
He got to know that Shilpa is soon to be a mother as she recently found out about the good news and her husband is out of town and all five of them were enjoying their evening together!
Then today got this beautiful gift as found Sameera and Maan in this locality! It was such a pleasant moment for them!
"So Maan...Are you and Sam dating or what? Amidst their conversation, Shilpa dropped the bomb which made Sameera blush profusely but soon to be disheartened by Maan's reply!
"Hehehe...What!!?? I mean no offense to the beautiful lady here." Maan couldn't help but chuckle at Shilpa's abrupt premise then later corrected himself as don't want to make Sameera feel disrespected, "But What makes you think that...She is... He was just going to talk when a laughing Aayan disrupted him.
"Oh no no no...Di...Ye kaunsi dukhti raag pe haath rakh diya aapne...You completely misunderstood...
Ye jo Maan bhaisahab baithe hain na idhar...Inhone shayed koi secret kasam khai huwi hain...Matlab humko confirmation nahin hain...Par inki ajeebo gareebo harkato se aisa lagta hain...Shayed hi kabhi inse koi rishta waisa wala baan paayega...
Sir ji toh iss new age ki vishyamitra hain...Par haan Sameera ne agar inki dhyaan vang kar liya na toh hum toh charan chu lenge Sam ki... Folding his hands along with trying hard to maintain a straight face Aayan spoke his part quite dramatically while everyone burst into laughter!
"Abbeh...Tum log sarey jokers...Ye ek topic ke ilawa aur kuch hain tumlogo ke paas? Kamino...Shilpa aap inki baato mein maat aaiye... Though he was having a hard time controlling his own laugh still Maan endeavored to sternly scold his dearest lively friend!!
"Oh...I am so sorry...woh aap dono ko sath mein dekha na so I just asked... Shilpa's flushed face gave away the details about her embarrassed state!
"It's totally fine...But look at her...She is such a beautiful soul... I am a very bland personality... I myself am searching for a generous soul for my lovely friend here... Sam... Ye Aayan kaisa lagta hain tumhe?? Baat chalau kiya?? In an attempt to ease the whole situation Maan smiled formally and voiced his opinion with his charming calmness!
"Maan...Oye chup... Aayan was prompt and ended up glaring at Maan who glared back at him, making him gulp his saliva! Those fiery glares are still intact in MSK!
"Kiya chup...Sam have I ever told you this guy here has a huge crush on you since a long time?? Dekho kaise sharma raha hain... Sameera was already down by that previous statement and now he is trying to set her up with his friend?? Their mutual friend?
Or it's some technique to get a confession out of her?? What do you really want Mr. Maan Singh Khurana??
"Ye lo...Ye accha hain...Baat teri ho rahi thi tu toh yaha hamesha ki tarha mere pe talwar latka raha hain... Munching the snacks Aayan tried to joke off the whole matter!
"Kyun?? Maine kuch galat kaha hain?? Waise you two look great together... Tu kehta hain toh baat chalau kiya uncle se?? It would be so great, both my besties get married to each other! Articulating in a happy manner Maan grinned at them widely!
"Areh waah...Koi mujhse bhi toh pucho main kiya chahti hoon... Finally, Sameera tried to intervene with a pout!
"Nai...Jaab do bade baat kar rahe hain na tab dulhaano ko chup rehna chahiye... Puzzling her further Maan spoke in his humorous way! He is happy, content, isn't he?? Probably the effect of meeting old buddies!
"Maaannn... Sameera invoked his name in the long tone, causing everyone else chuckle as well!
"Haan...Seriously...tune aaj khane mein kiya khaya hain Maan?? Tu aur rishton ki setting chala raha hain...Ye din bhi dekhna padega socha na thaa...Aur tu
Meri chor na...Tujhmein kiya burai hain...Tu pehle ye bata ki tujhe koi mili ke nahin... That devilish old buddy of his winked at him while talking!
"Sorry to interrupt...But I have to say that girl must have a lot of courage... Hey, you guys remember that incident?? Ranbir was hinting towards an incident which took place a few years back at their college!
"Which one? Sameera and Aayan both hurled the same inquiry!
"Areh...The most infamous one... That girl Misha back in our college...She proposed him... And as usual bhai sahab ne ghas nahin dali... All four of them(Maan, Sameera, Ranbir, Aayan) remembered the whole incident Ranbir was referring to!
"Arehhh haan...Oh shit...How could I forget that... Aayan literally screamed with excitement, "Maan...How could you do that? She was your epic love...Pppfffttt... After that lovely proposal, she sprayed the whole college with Maan+Misha...Haayyee... And Maan was like so angry... I wonder why... Aur uske baad in some truth and dare game she was asked if she dared to kiss Maan... And then... Jo Maan bhadka na... Laughing his stomach out he started enacting with a straight face, "Kiya tha tera dialogue?? Pata nahin kaun si movie dekh ke aaya tha tu... ~Jo ladki aapni parents ki izzat nahin karti, apni khud ki izzat nahin karti woh kiya mujhse baat karne taak ke layek samjhti hain khudko... Tumhare piche ye namune ghumte honge...Par issbar tumne bohot galat panga le liya hain... Tumhe kiya lagta hain ye sab karke bohot mahan sabit kar rahi ho tum aapne so called love ko... You are just ruining your parent's name... Even for one-second agar main tumhari baat maan bhi loon then? What??~ and...Pfffttt hahaha...After staring at you or should I say drooling at you like crazy.. She replied after a long time...~ We will date...Kiss and get married...Aur uskey baad nahin bol sakti main, sharam aa rahi hain mujhe, naughty Maan~ uff aur teri jo shakal huwi thi naa Maan... bechari ko wahi aapni nazro se swaaha kar deta tu... As Aayan was laughing and speaking, Maan entered into that flashback of 6 years ago!
Now those things are really making him laugh as how childish & carefree those days used to be! He couldn't help but smile at those little funny, little bizarre and a whole lot of golden days!
"Samrat ke wajah se huwa tha waise ye sab...He liked Misha and usne usko woh dark room mein bandh karke majak kar raha tha magar Maan ki futi kismat Misha dari ya nahin lekin bahar nikalte waqt usko Maan dikh gaya and she was tabse uske piche...Since Mr. Attitude was very much inclined to sports and studies... Ranbir added into the details as all of them were enjoying that whole tale with full attention and was laughing furiously!
"Areh...Toh Mujhe kiya pata tha...I heard someone screaming...Mujhe laga I should help...Lekin wo ladki aise haat dho ke gale padegi... Scrunching his face Maan expressed his irritation towards the whole Misha fiasco!
"Lekin phir bhi jab saam daam dandh ved kisi cheez se kaam nahin huwa toh pata hain us ladki ne kiya kiyah tha?? Aayan directed his question towards the keen audience with a mystical smirk!
"What?? Shilpa Abhishek and Shweta curiously asked in unison!
"I will say this..Chup...She..
She kidnapped Maan...ppfff hahahahaha...Yaar cheez thi woh ekk... Choking Aayan's voice Ranbir barged his sentence in and burst into laughter!!
"Omg...Lol...How?? Maan you even got kidnapped?? Shweta asked while digging in her ice cream!
"Paid goons...bechara bhola bhala Maan...apni geet ki dhoon mein khoya huwa jaa raha tha... Aayan started his melodramatic act once again while this time it was Sameera who cut him in the middle! Was that a deliberate hint at Geet? nah, must be a co incidental one!
"Wait ssshhh..Itna masala laga ke maat bolo...Ruko Ruko...Ye wala main bataungi please please...
Maan bada saaz sabar ke aa raha tha...Uski gym practice ke liye...Aur phir piche se 6 gunde aate hain aur usko wo cloroform sukhake leke jaate hain... And after that what Maan said do you guys know?? You won't believe what he said...Misha still must be in shock due to that!! Sameera took the lead and commenced with a dramatic voice! She was enjoying this evening as well! Especially seeing Maan in such a light mood!
"Kiyaaa? Everyone cried in unison, looking at Sameera intently and Maan was just frowning as usual!
"He wakes up... Sees Misha standing with a smile...Just when she comes closer he said ~You have been skipping your chemistry classes aren't you?? The chloroform you applied on me has nearly choked me to death...It takes only 5 mins for chloroform to react not 10 minutes...That's why you should not skip your lectures...You could have more charges on you if I would have been choked to death...~ Maan only you can say such!! Covering her mouth with her palm Sameera giggled hard and others joined her as well imagining the whole funny yet bizarre scenario!
"Arehhh...Aur nahin toh kiya...Wo toh accha tha uski jo bhade ke goons thhey they were on cost-cutting so had cheap drugs otherwise if it were the purest form of tri-chloro-methane then mera toh ty ty fish hone wala thaa... Maan snatched her words and pounced in between for his defense with his stern voice which increased everyone's laughter more!
"Par woh sab toh theek hain lekin what did she do after that? After a whole long minute of laughing session and staring at Maan as if he was some alien, Shilpa wanted to know what took place next!
"Aur kiya karti?? Wahi purane kisse...Usne Maan ko daraya, dhamkaya tha until he says yes she is not going to let him go...Bandh ke rakha huwa tha naa...Maan toh waise bhi ziddipana mein ek number hain...Lekin udhar Khurana house mein toh bawal mach gaai thi...Areh Haan Maan who was that cute little girl who was looking all frightened?? When the police tracked you down?? She is your family friend right?? Elevating his heartbeat Aayan discoursed further!
"G E E T H !! Her name always stays waiting to get escaped from his lips hence he mumbled without even realizing under the flow of the discussion!
"Haan..Haan..Right...Geet...Such a beautiful name...How could I forget her!! Before those goons abducted you usi se shayed last baat huwi thi teri phone pe...Maan jaab humein mila...We heard the news...Sarey bhage bhage gayye...Aur dekha he is all busy talking to Geet... I tell you she was such a sweetie...Sehmi sehmi si...Bechari bohot darr gayi thi...I still remember she was crying and looking at Misha jo guilty face leke khari hain...And Maan baas Geet ko pata nahin kiya khus fusa raha thaa...Btw where is she now?? Stirring a whole lot of jealousy inside Sameera followed by missing sensation into Maan's turbulent heart Aayan asked him!
Geet is even connected here?? was she after him from childhood or what?? Sameera was again contemplating about them!
"She is fine...She is studying architecture as well... Looking at the coffee cup Maan stated meekly!
"Is she single?? Aayan who was observing Maan keenly shoot the burning arrow at him with a mysterious smirk!!
"What the efff... Maan mumbled again with the directness of Aayan, good that his clenching fist was under the table where nobody would notice!
"I mean shaadi ki baat chal hi rahi hain toh...As far as I remember she was very simple traditional...Cute... Tujhe mera cousin yaad hain Abhay...Mom dad are trying to find a suitable girl for him... Aayan sounded very innocent while explaining his side as others were busy in talking within themselves except Sameera who was listening to everything as well as transcribing Maan's every reaction!
"So miss Geet ji...Aap single ho toh baat chalaye kiya?? Maan asked her with his key smirk while a gawking Geet rooted to her bed after hearing those marriage related matters! That too coming from her own husband!!
But how would he miss this golden opportunity when this little devil didn't spare him while vexing with Sameera's name??
