Hrithik inspires Chotu

Bharat Chawda aka Ishaan Nanda (Chotu of Kahaani...) is playing two characters simultaneously - a mentally challenged man and a smuggler. The current track of the serial revolves around Ishaan Nanda (Bharat) and Parvati (Saakshi Tanwar). We caught up with Ishaan (Bharat) and spoke to him about his role.
How did you get the role of Ishaan Nanda (Chotu)?
It was sheer coincidence. I had gone to audition for the role of Rudraksh (Kasauti Zindagi Kay) and after that Balaji told me to do the screen test for Kahaani. Luckily, I got selected for Ishaan's role.

How did you prepare for Chotu's role?
I visited many schools, both in Indore and Mumbai, to see how children behave and play, especially in a group. I watched many films on the mentally challenged to learn and imitate their body language. I learnt a lot from Hrithik Roshan's role in Koi Mil Gaya. He is my inspiration behind this role. I'm very glad that I have
received similar response and appreciation for Chotu's role as did Hrithik for Koi Mil Gaya. I would ike to narrate a funny incident. I was out shopping recently when a lady came up to me and asked me, "Kya tum asal Zindagi main pagal ho..." That, I feel, is the biggest appreciation for me. I feel that my research and hard work for this role has payed off.

Have you got any feedback from Ekta Kapoor?
Yes, Infact yesterday Ekta called my creative director and said that she is so impressed with my acting that she will soon give me a call. That I think is the biggest compliment for me so far. If my boss is happy then all's well.

Tell us something about the current track. When will Ishaan's truth be revealed to the Agarwal family?
It will happen very soon. Parvati will unfoil the truth behind Ishaan Nanda. I can't reveal much now. but soon there will be a twist in the tale.

Bharat Chawda had participated in Cine Stars Ki Khoj (2004). This Indore lad is satisfied with his achievements so far and is very happy working under Balaji banner.
