Salim Merchant goes the Anu-Himesh way
By IndiaFM News Bureau, October 27, 2005 - 03:11 IST
The practice of music directors singing for their films has become quite a trend these days. Probably Anu Malik popularized this trend in the late nineties. And most recently, it was Himesh Reshammiya who proved that a music director could make a successful singer with his smash hit Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Now, Salim Merchant is also making this a practice. After having sung for films like Bhoot, Kaal and most recently Iqbal, he has crooned once again for Neal N Nikki. The song titled Halla Re also features Shweta Pandit and Robert Omulo. His previous songs being appreciated, this one is also likely to climb the top of the charts.
