Part 5 (Last Part)
Shattered Faith
Maan met up with his dad who was more than happy to see his son. He hugged him, "I'm so glad you are here. Maan was surprised at this warm welcome by his dad.
Ayan saw this and was cautious now. "Dad I need to talk to you about something, He came straight to the point. His dad Rajveer looked up to him but he knew he wouldn't find any affection from his son as he knew he was wrong when he locked up Rhea despite him protesting against it and for what just to save his so called family's reputation. He was wrong to neglect his wife and his son which led her to be infidel. He understood he punished the child borne out of that affair for no reason but it was too late when he realized it, his son already hated him and his step daughter she has gone too far from his reach too. "Maan, you have returned after long son, go and rest...we can talk in the evening, His dad said. "No dad, its urgent, Maan said adamantly. "Dad why are you bribing girls who get close to me, This made his dad halt his steps.
"Maan, I don't know what you are talking about, His dad said. "What do you mean by you don't know...that Ayan even tried to bribe Geet. I had someone following her for her safety. Tell me why are you doing this, He asked. "Rhea trusts Ayan, he wouldn't do anything to breach that...Maan you already hate me, do you think I will do such things to make you hate me more.I just want to live with my children as a family ... You must be tired son, go and rest, Saying this his dad left to his room leaving Maan in thoughts. "If dad is not ...then ...Ayan couldn't be that rich so how did he get that much of money, He thought taking fast steps towards Ayan's room only to find it richly decorated. "So here you are Master Maan, Ayan smirked. "Who the hell is paying you to do all that...how dare you bribe Geet, Maan said enraged grabbing Ayan by his collar. "Easy young master, why don't you ask Miss Rhea once she gets back ...after all she asked me to do it, Ayan smirked leaving Maan shattered.
"Rhea...asked you ...but why..., He was shocked to know his baby sister could do this. The sound of Ayan's phone caught Maan's attention. "Hello, Miss Rhea, He answered. "Ayan this girl is useless, let's think about something else for her, She said. Maan snatched the phone from his hand, "Rhea where are you."I love you Maan bhai, I will there soon then we can talk, She said disconnecting the call. Rhea was about to leave when she heard Geet, "Wait, what are you up to...if you love Maan then why are you destroying his happiness, Geet asked. "Love...huh...no one loved me so why should I love anyone...but you see this word love gives me everything I want so if I have to utter it a thousand times a day I will to get what I want from my brother, She smirked. "You are the worst, Geet said. "Really that old man is the one who made me like this, locking me up...and you say I'm the worst...goodbye for now, She said zooming her car off . "I won't let you have Maan...you haven't seen the last from me..., Geet thought with a determination.
"Miss Rhea is returning ...I will pick her up, go and rest master and ask her about it,Ayan said. "I'm going back ti Geet . I have to calm down and think sensibly for Rhea, Maan said moving out but Ayan's next set of words made him halt in his steps. "Like every other time you keep saying things you don't intend to do. And you too are responsible for her behavior. You gave her hopes and she waited for you to take her out from this but you hardly returned. Do you really love her like you claim ...no you don't ...all you care about is getting with Miss Geet. You never thought about the hell your sister has been through, even now you are going back to Miss Geet, Ayan said. "Listen, I'm trying to find a way...and.., Maan said. "And what Sir, you are always making excuses as you don't want to live in this mansion...you have always kept yourself above her and now also you are in a hurry to leave, Ayan said.
Maan was speechless for a while...is he the reason behind his baby sister's condition...may be not directly but indirectly. He remembered how she would clung onto him as her only hope. How she cried fearing the darkness of the room...how he would tell her he would take her out , but in the end couldn't ... He was about to retort when someone opened the door, "Maan great to see you again, Ayan called all of us so we could meet, His Uncle said. "We have come here to see you taking over the business, Another relative said. "And yes take care of that girl ...what was her na..., Before they could say more Maan yelled, "Its Rhea and treat her with respect. I have told you once and I'm telling you again dare any of you lay a finger on my little sister or talk rubbish about her. He left the room enraged ...he could now get that Rhea was wrong and he decided to keep an eye on her by staying here for the time being but he still hated any of his relatives who badmouthed her.
15 days later,
Geet waited for Maan after he informed her about the whole thing...she told him about Ayan bribing her and Rhea too but one thing was on her mind ...Rhea's words... Was I really a substitute for him like Rhea said ...her substitute.' Maan hadn't called in a while and as usual her brother was out for work leaving her to think on her own. Her phone rang and she picked up, "Geet, how have you been. She heard his voice, "When are you coming back. "I need to keep an eye on Rhea here ...I can't let her harm you ...I'm trying to get through her, Maan said. "She said ...you saw her in me...is it true, She finally asked what was bugging her...she wanted to be proved wrong. "Geet you were in the third standard when we first met so maybe at that time I don't know ...but that was then Geet , I have loved you after knowing you after spending each moment with you ...I have only come to love you...so please don't think about her stupid talk...I don't know why shes doing this but there is no doubt on her love, He clarified. "Thank you Maan, for clearing my doubts, I will wait for you, She smiled.
Maan disconnected the call and joined the party that was going on in his house. He was passing by when he saw Ayan holding Rhea. The sight enraged him and he pulled Ayan off her and slapped him hard.
"How dare you touch my sister, He roared. "Oh looks like we are caught Ayan, could you go bring me a soft drink, She said. Maan was shocked seeing this. "Rhea, do you love him, He asked.
"Ah, sure I do like I love everyone ...that word is so easy to use to manipulate people, She said. "Why are you doing this, He asked. "Hmm why, so you don't marry or have kids and I get the money I want...so Maan bhai we can live together forever and I getting all this property ...they will accept me as a Khurana then right...I'm not rich so they don't accept me and ill treat me so when I get all this they will treat me with respect they give to other Khuranas right, She said and left the room leaving behind her shocked brother.
Geet was shopping and missed Maan. "I wish he was here...I'm missing him, She thought."Are you thinking about me,She heard his voice only to turn around and find him. "Great now I'm having visual delusions, She was going to turn thinking it was another daydream of her but Maan grabbed her and pulled her in a hug.
"You still think I'm an illusion, He said. "You are back.I'm so glad to see you, She smiled. "Yes, I am...I was missing you, He smiled. Before they could enjoy their reunion Maan's phone buzzed. He picked up to hear the worst, "Master Maan , Miss Rhea...had an accident.
