Chapter 19
Meheks eyelids fluttered open. Feeling tired from last nights lovemaking,she stretched her arms and yawned. She touched Shaurya's side of the mattress but he wasn't there. Hugging the sheet to her chest she sat up. "Shaurya!" She called while looking around in that dark cave. Shaurya who was heating water for her to shower,turned towards her. "Hey ...you are up! Good morning!" He flashed his signature smile. She gazed at him alluringly and smiled shyly. No further words were necessary as she stared at him while he tossed more wood in the bonfire. He was clad only in his tight briefs,hairs were wet. Mehek assumed he just had a shower. Her face turned crimson. She blushed at the sight of his hairy, muscled chest and arms, trim waist, promising bulge between his strong legs,and felt her face growing hotter. "Good morning.." she said softly. She got up,and in the process the sheet fell from her body. Embarrassed,she stood there in front of him fully exposed. His gaze locked with hers and a slow mischievous grin appeared on his face. "God! you're beautiful, he said as his hungry eyes roamed over her bare, delicious skin covered with his love bites. She preened under the compliment and blushed . Picking her sheet up she walked towards him. Her voice sounded small and childlike when it slipped into the space between them. "How long was I sleeping? She wrapped the sheet around her. "It's just about noon,you slept half of the day." He poked on her nose. "Gees Shaurya! Why didn't you wake me up?" "Babes I tried to but you wanted to sleep some more so I let you!" He said. She hugged him sideways and rested her head on his shoulder. "You exhausted me last night ..that's why I slept in..." she looked shyly at him. "Hmm pata hai mujhey." He kissed her forehead and rubbed her cheeks which had the bruises from his stubble. "Now go have your shower before I change my mind and take you right now!" "Besharam ho tum shaurya khanna!" Mehek blushed. "That I am!" He laughed. "I'll bring this warm water over." Mehek left. "I love you!" She howled in the dark. "Love you more!" His deep voice echoed in the cabin.
Mehek had a hot her shower which relaxed her body and eased some of her soreness between her legs. Thank God her clothes were dry and she got dressed. Drying her hair she joined Shaurya for lunch,and lunch happened to be fruits and energy bars. Rain had stopped and the sky was clear. "This is just the perfect time to leave." Said Shaurya as he grabbed his backpack and packed his stuffs. Mehek also gathered her things and packed them. Suddenly Shaurya pulled her in his arms! "You are forgetting something sweetheart!." She raised her brows. "What?" He applied a pinch of sindoor on her maang. "This!" Mehek looked at him with tears in her eyes. "Now you look like my wife!" He enveloped her in his arms. "I will miss this place Shaurya...we have so much memories here.." Shaurya cupped her cheeks. "We will visit this place whenever you want to,ok? And next time we'll come prepared so we can spend few nights here." Mehek was really happy to hear that. He pecked her lips few times. "Let's do one important thing before we go." He grabbed her hand and took her to the side wall of the cave which was made of rock. Shaurya wrote his name on it and made a heart,then Mehek wrote her name below the heart. It read "Shaurya loves Mehek" Mehek was smiling with tears,Shaurya also had tears in his eyes. Mehek threw herself in his arms. Joining their foreheads they stood in each other's arms. Mehek pecked his lips once,twice,thrice and then Shaurya took over from there. He kissed her passionately. "A kiss to be remembered." He murmured on her lips.
They came out of the cave with their backpacks. Forest was dark as it was very thick and The ground was still wet from the heavy rainfall. "We should reach home before it starts raining again." Said Mehek while looking at the sky. Shaurya lifted her up in his arms and carried her. "Kya kar rahe ho tum?" "You said you are sore down there and can't walk that's why I'm carrying you." Mehek pulled his cheek. "You are a darling! But I'm ok now Shaurya...I can walk please put me down." He looked at her. "You sure?" She leaned and kissed his cheek. "Very sure!" He put her down and wove his fingers with hers and continued their journey. "I'm scared of what the family might think of us." Muttered Mehek. "Don't need to be scared,we'll tell them the truth and leave for Delhi." He assured her. "I hope they accept our marriage Shaurya." "I don't see why they can't! We are married,you are wearing my sindoor and mangalsutra,Aur Kya chahiye to prove we are married? If you are worried about the rituals,we can do that in Delhi." Mehek had a doubt about the Purohit family,they might object to this marriage. "I have to be very strong,I'm Mrs Shaurya khanna now! I cannot be a chicken!" She said in her heart.
They arrived at the haveli in some hours time. All the family members were gathered in the hall as if they knew these two were coming back. Karuna ma was happy seeing sindoor and mangalsutra on Mehek. She did their arti and asked them to step inside. "I'm so happy for you both." She opened her arms and both went in her embrace. She kissed their foreheads and blessed them. Rahul came from behind Karuna ma. "How could you do this to me Mehek ji? You betrayed me and my family!" Before he could go any further,Shaurya's hard fist landed on his jaw and he fell face down. Mrs Purohit ran to his son. "Yeh Kya battimeezi hai Shaurya!" "Battimeezi? Battimeezi toh aapke ke bete ne ki hai masi ji! I warned him if I find any injuries on Mehek,I'll kill him! And you do have any idea what your son did? Not just he gave her injuries,he left her in that spooky jungle to die! And when I found her,she was trapped inside a pit full of water!" Shaurya roared like a lion. Mehek tried to calm him down. "Mehek!come this side!" Ordered Mrs Purohit. Mehek trembled and looked at Shaurya who indicated her to go. She went and stood in front of Mr and Mrs Purohit. "Ji Aunty ji." "I didn't except this from you Mehek! You kept us in the dark! You betrayed Rahul and all of us! This is what we get for saving your life and giving you a place to live?" "I'm sorry..." Mehek broke down. "We'll not forgive you Mehek!" Mr Purohit said. Suddenly everyone was on her,raising their voices and fingers. Shaurya came to her rescue. "Chalo yahan se!" He grabbed her hand took her to her room. "Pack your stuffs,we are leaving for Delhi right now! We won't stay here for another minute!" They packed their bags and came downstairs where everyone were still gathered. "Awaara! Bring ma with you,we'll be waiting outside!" Holding her hand,he headed towards the door. "One minute!" Mr Purohit's voice reached their ears. They stopped in their tracks and turned around. Shaurya glared at them angrily as if he'll eat them alive if they tried to come in their path. Suddenly they all started laughing like crazy. "What the hell!" Shaurya was more irritated than ever. "Can anyone care to tell us what's happening?" Rahul neared them. "Bro! We knew about you and Mahek'a relationship from the very beginning!" MehRya's mouth dropped open. "What?" Both said in unison. "Yes my friend! It was all a plan to bring you here! Even Karuna masi was involved." MehRya dropped their suitcases on the floor and looked at them with wide eyes. "Mom aap bhi?" Karuna ma made an innocent puppy like face. "If everyone here knew then why all this drama?" Asked Shaurya. "Drama was necessary to give your Benaam Rishta a name and to bring you both closer and built Mahek's trust on you which she had lost long time ago." Added Mrs Purohit. "Bro,I never was in love with your Mehek and I never wanted to marry her yaar...I have a girlfriend of my own ..remember the Roka? We knew you both will stop the Roka somehow which you did,when you took her to her room to bandage her wounds,me and my girlfriend did the Roka..well that Roka was meant for us anyway." MehRya couldn't believe what they were hearing. "If you are thinking why I left Mehek in the jungle...to be honest I never left her...I was still there until you showed up which I knew you would...once you found her,I left." "Have a seat,puri kahani abhi baaki hai baccho." Daadi told them. "Daadi! You too!" Again MehRya said in unison. Everyone laughed. MehRya sat down with a glass of water each. Mehek was in shock,she couldn't understand what was happening. Shaurya was quite too. "Bahu! Tell them the complete story!" Daadi ordered Mrs Purohit. Everyone found a seat and sat down.
Mrs Vandana Purohit started narrating the whole story. "When Mehek left Chandigarh,some months later we received a call from vicky when he found out Mehek was in Jaipur. He explained to us what had happened between his bhai and bhabi. We started searching for Mehek,later Karuna and Harish ji joined us. We were all standing outside the factory where Mehek worked when the building collapsed. It wasn't us that saved her! It was Karuna and Harish ji that pulled her out of the mess. They paid for her treatment and stayed anonymous. When Mehek recovered they asked us to keep her with us. Harish ji was sending us money every month for Meheks expanses. We refused to take the money but then he said iss payse par Mehek ka haq hai! whatever money I'm sending is from Shaurya ..one day when he finds out Meheks treatment was done with his money,he'll be one happy man! When Mehek opened her cooking school,Shaurya's money was also used there. Shaurya was far from her but in so many ways he was with her. One day we received a call from Karuna,she had a plan. And this was her plan! To bring you both closer,build back the trust which Mahek had once lost and help you to forgive,forget and start afresh." MehRya were in tears when Mrs Purohit finished. They stood up and hugged Karuna ma. "We love you ma!" Both said together. "Love you too bacho!" With tears she blessed them. "Love you three!" Harish said from the doorway! "Dad!" Shaurya ran into his dads open arms. "Thank you dad for whatever you did for us!" Harish just kissed his face. "Anything for you bete!" Shaurya gestured Mehek to join them. Mehek went and took Harish's blessing. "Jeete raho bete!" Everyone were finally happy. Dada and dadi also blessed the couple. "Sorry bro! I didn't mean to be rude with you both but I had no choice,please forgive me." Rahul joined his hands asking for forgiveness. Shaurya just hugged him. After chatting with the Purohit's,Harish decided to leave for Delhi that same day "Karuna,get ready we'll leave in the afternoon...baccho ki shaadi ki taiyarian bhi karni hai." "Par dad,we already got married." Said Shaurya. "I want you to get married with all the rituals bete,with friends and families around." "And I also have to rain flowers on you remember?" Added Rahul. Everyone laughed. Shaurya looked at Mehek who was already blushing red. "Will you marry me for the third time miss sharma?" He asked. Mehek rolled her eyes. "I will think about it Shaurya khanna!" "Oye! What did you just say? Huh?" He tried to grab her but Mehek ran behind Karuna ma and hid there. More laughter spread in the hall. Everything was sorted! Rahul wasn't a bad guy after all!
Purohit's and khannas were having a late lunch. Silly jokes were cracked,and laughter spread in the hall. Awaara was there serving them but manju was nowhere to be found. "Awaara bhaiya,where's manju?" Asked Mehek. Awaara gave her a sad look. Mehek understood something was wrong. "Shaurya,I'll just come." She excused herself and left towards the kitchen. "Manju!" Mehek called her name and looked around. She heard a sob behind the door. She quickly went and checked behind the door. Manju was standing in the corner and crying. "Kya huwa tujhey? Roh kiyu rahi ho?" Manju just went in her embrace. "Please don't leave me here Di! I can't stay here without you and awaara ji! Mujhey bhi saath le Chalo na!" Mehek caressed her back lovingly. "Mehek! Babe what's taking you so long? We have a train to catch!" Shaurya stepped in the kitchen and found the girls hugging. "Is everything ok?" He asked when they broke the hug. Mehek whispered something in his ears. Smile crept on Shaurya's face. "I'll sort this out now! Bring her outside in the hall." Shaurya left. "What will he do? Di bolo na!" Terrified Manju asked. Mahek just smiled and brought her out in the hall. "Attention everyone!" Both families looked at Shaurya who was standing in middle with awaara by his side. "I have a Rishta for your sweet maid Manju!" Everyone gave him a questionable look. Awaara just swallowed and Manju stood there with widened eyes. "And may we know who that khusnaseeb is?" Asked daadi. "Woh khusnasseb aawara hai daadi! Mehek ka awaara bhaiya!" Everyone's gaze landed on Manju. Manju lowered her head in embarrassment. "Toh bolo! Rishta manzoor hai?" "If ladka ladki raazi toh kya karega kaazi!" Humey Rishta manzoor hai!" Said mr Purohit. Manju blushed and ran away to the kitchen. Everyone laughed when Awaara blushed.
Late that afternoon,khannas bid good byes to the Purohit family. Purohit's promised to attend the wedding in Delhi. Mahek was in tears when daadi gave her jewelries as her blessing. Vandana had given her sarees and lahengas for the rituals. Manju was finally happy as she was also accompanying Mehek and the rest. Shaurya had promised to get Awaara and Manju married as soon as possible.
After travelling whole night,they arrived in Delhi. Manju was settled in the guest house at the back of the mansion. "Baccho! You just have a day together,from tomorrow the ritual starts,and I don't want you two to meet until the wedding ok?" Meheks countenance fell and Shaurya frowned. "But why mom? You know we are already married! And I don't believe in these useless rituals,you know that." Karuna pulled his cheeks. "I know but rituals hai toh karna parega,Abh jaao Araam karo tum dono,main bhi chalti Hun." Shaurya opened his mouth to say something but Mehek stopped him. "We have today Shaurya,kal ka kal dekhenge! Hmm?" "But you know na I can't stay without you for a minute Aur yaha ma wants me to stay two days away from you! I can't!" Without listening to Mehek,he left towards his room.
