Snowfall in Shimla excites Amitabh Bachchan

Snowfall in Shimla excites Amitabh BachchanMegastar Amitabh Bachchan is presently in the Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla, shooting for Shoojit Sircar's SHOEBITE. And that was the schedule, as we had already told you, a while back. Big B reached Shimla on Monday, after inaugurating Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Daulatpur college in the Fatehpur district of Uttar Pradesh.

While the shooting of SHOEBITE took place on Tuesday, Wednesday saw an overcast sky, followed by fresh snowfall, leading to shooting disruption. But that failed to dampen the spirit of the cast and crew, who came out to enjoy a white Shimla.

As per our sources, most thrilled was Amitabh Bachchan, who on his last trip to Shimla (for BLACK in 2004) did not get to see the same, despite a long schedule, as the weather Gods were not willing! Bachchan came out of Hotel Cecil Oberoi (where he was shooting) to watch the beautiful scene!

Shahenshah promotes another emperor?

Yes! It's true. Unlike in the olden days when there could only be one Emperor and many went to war over their kingdom, our filmi Shahenshah, Amitabh Bachchan believes in promoting another.

No! It's not like he's suddenly pushing Shah Rukh Khan, but on a more serious note, Bachchan is actually helping push and promote the music of Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar, only because he's taken such a tremendous liking to it.

When he was shooting in Kulu Manali for Shoojit Sarcar's film, he heard that the music of Jodhaa Akbar had released in the hill station a few days ago. So he went out to buy the music in bulk to gift to his unit, simply because he loved it so much himself.

He visited about five to six stores but was disappointed because the album was sold out in all these stores. He then called Ashutosh's office and actually requested him to send more stock of the music to the Kulu Manali stores; as well as send him some stock (and bill him for the same), so that he could gift his unit as planned.

Of course, Ashu's office swung into action and had the needful done. Wonder if the people who got the gifts liked them as well. But one must say that it was so sweet for father-in-law Bachchan to promote bahu Aishwarya's film like his own.

But then you know how the Bachchan's stand by each other right? We hope the movie proves it worth at the box office.

Bachchan's special gesture for late Teji
The Bachchans are known for making people feel special in their own unique way. Even as Bollywood's most powerful family is still coming to terms with the demise of Teji Bachchan (Amitabh's mother), they did take out time from their busy schedules to thank all those who stood by them in their moment of grief.

Apparently, Amitabh and Ajitabh Bachchan's families have personally sent out cards carrying a photograph of Late Teji Harivansh Rai Bachchan to close family and friends. The card also carries excerpts from Bachchan's autobiography and notes from his mother.

Must say in this age of high speed communication, the Bachchans do believe in doing things with a touch of difference.

Bachchans dine with the French
The Bachchan women (read Jaya and Aishwarya) hosted a hush-hush private poolside party for the French delegates, who are in the country for the ongoing film fest — Rendezvous with French Cinema, on Tuesday evening at a suburban five-star hotel. However, the father-son duo Amitabh and Abhishek were conspicuous by their absence. We are told that the sexagenarian actor, who was presented France's highest civilian award Legion d'Honneur last year, was filming in Manali, and Abhishek has stationed himself at Jaipur for Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra's Dilli 6.

Apparently, the intimate dinner party was Amitabh Bachchan's brainchild, who not only decided the menu for the dinner, but also generously selected gifts with personalised messages for members of the delegation.

Aishwarya Rai supervised the dcor that comprised white orchids (which is Amitabh's favourite flower) and candles, and also instructed the hotel authorities to serve food cooked in mild spices. Meanwhile, Jaya was seen welcoming the guests at the venue and looking after them throughout the evening.

A source from the French Embassy informs, "The delegate was extremely impressed with the Bachchan brand of hospitality. Aishwarya and Jaya were looking after the guests personally, from their drinks to food, and even handed out gifts to the members of the delegate before they left the venue. We were particularly missing Mr Bachchan. Somebody told us that he is popularly known as Sexy Sam."

As far as the Bollywood presence is concerned, a few filmmakers and producers including Manmohan shetty, daughter Aarti, Ketan Mehta, his wife Deepa Sahi, and Govind Nihalani were seen mingling with the French delegates.

The French delegates included Jerome Seydoux (company chairman Pathe), Claude Lelouch (director Crossed Tracks), Marie Guillard (actress Avatar), Olivia Bonamy (actress Them), Guillame Nicloux (director The Stone Council), Michel Ocelot (director Azur and Asmar, Nadine Labaki (director and actress Caramel), Julien Leclercq (Director Avatar), Albert Dupontel (actor Avatar) and Audrey Dana (actress Crossed Tracks).

Amitabh promotes Jodhaa Akbar music
This is one family which really believes in standing by each other. We are talking of the Bachchans, who believe in always supporting each other. Take the case of Pa-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. He is believed to be going all out in his bid to promote Ashutosh Gowariker's Jodhaa Akbar.

Bachchan senior is doing his utmost to help push and promote the music of the film. It is believed that he was shooting in Kullu Manali for Shoojit Sircar's film when he heard that the music of Jodhaa Akbar had released in the hill station a few days ago. So the superstar went out to buy the music in bulk to gift it to his unit, simply because he loved the music so much himself. But to his dismay, he discovered that the music was sold out in all the five or six music stores of the town. He then called Ashutosh's office and actually requested him to send more stock of the music to the Kullu Manali stores and also requested for some more stock be sent to him (all paid for, of course), so that he could gift his unit as planned. Ashutosh's office got into action and got the needful done. But one must say, it was really sweet of Amitabh to promote his daughter-in-law, Aishwarya's film like his own. Like we said, this family really believes in standing by each other.
