Ishita was sitting in her car lost in her thoughts while the driver was driving towards her office.
Ishita -i don't know why but I have a guy feeling that bhallas r innocent and that smirk on Shagun's face, no I can't be wrong. I am sure there is something I am not able to see, but now I will surely look at every possible evidence. Case jeetne se jyada jaruri sach ko jeetana hai. She was thinking when the driver said-maam we reached.
Ishita look around and realised that she is infront of her office. She thought for sometime and said-jail chalo.
Driver-ji ma'am.
Ishita-yes, take me to central jail.
Driver nodded and turned the wheel towards jail. Very soon she reached jail.
She went to the jailer and said that she want to meet the bhallas.
Jailer-why u want to meet them, u r fighting case against them naa.
Ishita-no I am fighting case against the crime not the bhallas.
Jailer-do u too think that they r innocent.
Ishita-that means,
Jailer cut her and said-yes, they r very noble people, Pata nahi kaise phans gaye, I think their daughter in law trapped them. I have talked once with Mr bhalla, he is a very nice man, unki wife toh din bhar sirf roti rehti hai.kuch khaati bhi nahi.
Ishita-and their son, Mr Raman bhalla.
Jailer -woh, woh toh kuch bolta hi nahi, just always sitting like rock but I have seen him crying in night alone. Itne saal ho gaye naukari karte hue public prosecutor sahiba, I can recognise who is criminal and who is innocent and I think they r innocent.
Ishita-i too think so, that's why I came to meet them. I want to know the truth, can u allow me to meet them and it will be good if u keep it a secret between us. If u want I can give u,
Jailer-thats not needed but I can allow u to meet only once and that to only one person. As they r in three different cell.
Ishita-who is alone in their cell.
Jailer -mr Raman bhalla.
Ishita-ok then take me to him, I will talk to him .
Jailer-ok but only thirty minutes.
Ishita-that will be great, she said and both went to Raman's cell.
Raman was sitting in his cell hiding his face in between his legs when the door of the cell opened. He raised his head to see the person and ishita standing there. Ishita stand there waiting for his expression but he again kept his head in between his legs closing his eyes.
Ishita thanked the jailer and walked to him. She was about to say something when Raman asked -aap yahan kyun aayin hai.
Ishita ask for a chair and the constable went giving her that. She adjusted herself on the chair and said-i came here to have a talk with u.
Raman -but i don't wanna talk to anyone. Aapko joh karna hai kar lijiye, agar aap chahti hai toh mujhe phansi chadhwa dijiye but please get out. Mujhe naa kisi par bharosha hai aur naa mujhe koi safai deni hai.
Ishita get up from her chair and went to him. She sat in parallel to him and said-main bahut badi aur successful lawyer hoon Mr bhalla, Pichle do saalon mein 200 se jyada dowry harassment case ladh chuki hoon, aur jeeta bhi hai.
Raman -toh main kya karun, chadwa dijiye mujhe phansi pe. Par please apni yeh, he was saying when ishita said-let me finish Mr bhalla, toh main keh rahi thi, inn do saalon mein Maine kitabon se jyada logon ke chehre pade hai. And I am sure that u have been trapped. So I am here to help u. Main yahan aapko bachane aayi hoon Mr bhalla. Agar aap meri help nahi bhi karenge, toh bhi main aapko bacha lungi Kyunki I can't see evil win over truth. But agar aap meri help karenge toh main yeh kaam jaldi kar lungi. So I am here to seek ur help. R u ready to help me. She said forwarding her hand while raman was just looking at her with shocked expression.
Raman -why u want to help me.
Ishita-kyunki mujhe jhooth ko jeetana manzur nahi.
Raman -how can I trust u aur waise bhi mere paas kya hai aisa jisse main aapko help kar sakun. Moreover why u came today, aaj jab main zindagi se haar maan chuka hoon why u want to fight for me.
Ishita-kyun Aap haar maan rahe hai Mr bhalla, lade bina haarna galat hota hai.
Raman -its easy to say miss public prosecutor, but when the whole world is against u, when people r mocking u and ur family for no reason, jab aapke maa papa ko muh pae kalikh laga kar pure society mein ghumaya jaaye, jab aapko saabit hone se pehle hi mujrim maan liya jaaye toh kya karegi aap. Ladhegi duniya se, ladh payengi. U know agar yeh sab sirf mere saath hota toh shayad main ladta, apni Aakhiri saans tak but apne maa papa ko saath, I just can't see. So it's better that we surrender, aur aap bhi please hamare liye umar kaid nahi phansi maangiyega. I just don't wanna live, mere jeene ki ichcha khatam ho gayi hai. He said and start crying hiding his face in his palm.
Ishita felt bad for him, she wanted to console him but don't know how to do this, so she just gave him her hanky and said-listen, Mr bhalla I don't have much time, as jailer has given me only thirty minutes, it will be great if u come to point.
Raman composed himself hearing this and asked-what do u want.
Ishita -truth.
Raman look at her and she said-i just want to know the truth. Kya hua, kaise hua.
Raman started narrating. While ishita took our her recorder to record his statement.
Raman -shagun was my secretary,she use to be with me always, we share only the professional relationship, nothing else. One day we went to a party together where I got drunk much more then needed. I lost my senses and next day when I got up, I saw I was in bed with her and she was laying next to me naked. I was shocked, I wake her up and she told me that I confessed my love to her and we have sex at night. I was shocked as I never got attracted to her. But seeing her condition I could not deny the fact either. I apologise to her saying that I don't love her and it's just a mistake. She cried a little but then understand my situation. She said that she will not tell this to anyone and I too tell her that I will always protect her if anything went wrong. One month passed like this, one day she came to me and said that she is pregnant. At first I was shocked but I can't leave her alone as she was bearing my child. So I told the truth to my parent. At first they cursed me alot but later agreed for marriage, this way we got married. Or should I say I had to marry her.
Ishita-aapne baby ka paternity test karwaya tha.
Raman nodded in no and said-i trusted her words, don't know why. But I trusted her.
Ishita-phir kya hua.
Raman -fifteen days after our marriage she fell off the stairs and suffered a miscarriage. Ab toh mujhe shaq hota hai, woh pregnant thi bhi yaa woh bhi Ek naatak tha.
Ishita -ok then.
Raman -then days start passing, she has taken everyone in confidence, all loves her alot.
Ishita-u too, do u guys have physical relation after that day.
Raman -no, she was not ready for relationship and so was I. We use to live in different room as I don't love her. I was just fulfilling my responsibilities as husband. Then one day in afternoon, I was sleeping in my room when I heard her screams from kitchen. I got up and ran to the kitchen and saw shagun was shouting for help as she was in between fire, maa papa was also there trying to save her but she was running away from them in place of coming close to them. I wasn't getting anything, I tried to hold her but that exact time ashok came with police and Shagun started that we tried to burn her and we got arrested. I swear on matarani ma'am, though I never liked her but I respected her as my wife, Maine uske saath kabhi galat nahi kiya. Aur dahej ki baat karti hai, uske paas tha hi kya joh hum dahej maangte usse. She was an orphan. Sunshine orphanage mein rehti thi woh uss muh bole bhai ashok ke saath. He said while ishita was lost in her thoughts.
Raman -what u r thinking.
Ishita-yahin ki aapka case toh itna easy hai, why can't ur lawyer is able to defend u. It's easy to show that u guys can't ask for dowry as she never had anything to give u.
Raman -coz my lawyer is on their side, bahut der mein mujhe pata chala that the lawyer we did is actually on their side. Woh court mein mujhe bachane ke liye nahi phansane ke liye khana hota hai.
Ishita-but why, u must be paying him a good amount.
Raman -yes we paid him a huge amount but the thing a woman can give him, I can't give. I hope u understand what I mean to say. He said looking down.
Ishita-ok, r u sure that u guys came closer that night.i mean ho sakta hai uss raat kuch hua ho naa ho, may be it all was just her plan to trap u.
Raman -ho sakta hai, but how can I proof this, I don't know any way to prove males virginity.
Ishita thought for a while and asked-did u saw her pregnancy report.
Raman nodded in yes.
Ishita-kis lab ki report thi and tell me the hospital where she was being cleaned, I mean u know what.
Raman -yes I do understand, it was city hospital shayad. I don't remember, ashok and maa went with her. I couldn't go as I had to go out of town. And she too said that ashok will handle.
Ishita-ashok, this man has something to do with all this, OK thanks for helping. It time to go. My time is over, meet u at the court after two days. Saying so she got up to go when Raman hold her hand and said-kuch ho sakta hai kya, hum bach sakte hai kya.
Ishita looked at him and then his hand. He left her hand instantly and said sorry.
Ishita-trust me agar aap sachche hai, toh main Aap logon ko kuch nahi hone dungi. Phir chahe iske liye mujhe kuch bhi karna pade.
Raman -thank u, aapne mujhe Ek umeed di hai. I really hope u can find the truth. He said smiling a little, perhaps his first smile after ages.
Ishita too smiled back determined to save bhallas. At first she went to her office and heard his statement many times. She noted down the things she has to check.
After noting down the things, she start her investigation. At first she went to the hotel and checked the CCTV footage of that day. She smiled seeing it and then took it, she searched for the waiter in the footage and talked to him. Then she called her juniors and told them to collect information about ashgun as much as needed.
She send one of her men to bhalla mansion as courier boy and placed a button camera in the hall. And next day one of the girl went as salesgirl and take out the camera.
In two days, ishita worked day and night to gather all information against ashgun and she was happy that now she can save bhallas and punish ashgun. Now she was waiting eagerly for the next date to send ashgun behind the bars.
