Uff, so many gifs, gifs ... and then comes the creep! πŸ˜† He surely stole some good moments, especially in the initial episodes.

Rhea, so true. He won't be this young again. But if he wants to, he can look better than what he is nowadays. I hope he does some sensible roles that portray his talent effectively. I want to see him excel in a totally different character. Hope he gets those good roles one day.

Faiqa, pray, tell me, for pure GK sake, who is this along with bitwa?

Here's the poem posted on the anniversary thread.

Heyyy heyyy ... a sweet sound engulfs
Rabbbaa veeyyy ... a soulful song ensues
Breeze sways, a gulp produced
Dhak dhak dhak dhak, the heart amused

A long time back, about six years ago
There was a clash, between truth and ego
But something along made its way
To enter the hearts and forever stay

A feeling that was fought, avoided, denied
But then it kept growing inside
Amidst fights and quarrels,  it prevailed
Yet confessing wasn't a smooth sail

From Diwali to Holi, it changed many colours
From one Janmashtami to another, it turned a new feather
Many ups and downs the feeling went through
As time went by, it turned stronger and true

The rituals took place not once but twice
In spite of many evil tricks of vice
Vishwas once entered, never quit their hearts
Arnav and Khushi's love remained forever alive

We can't move on, as Rabba Ve is still on
It's bliss when we hear, Arnav & Khushi's song
It is their story, we continue to croon
No wonder we sing, 'Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon?'

Another one that I wrote on fb.

Six years ago, a couple arrived.
One on a helly, another on a bike.
For several months, they went through a myriad of emotions.
Dragging us along into the deep corners of their hearts.
They taught us to smile, they taught us to feel.
They taught us that there's hope in adversity still.
We fell in love, deep and hard.
It was an abyss, but full of heart.
But after all it was a silly tv show.
Yet somehow, our love did grow.
It's 6th June again, and we are here to say
Dear IPKKND, we love you hamesha, hamesha ke liye. ❀️

durga,

lovely rhymes on the "silly tv show". saw them on the anni thread, in fact when i started reading the first words of the post, i thought, oh, that must be durga... so happy to see, it indeed was.

the other guy in faiqa'a edit is al pacino as michael corleone in the godfather. he was abs brilliant. a while back cynthia and i both hyperventilated on this then young and always v handsome actor of italian descent. oooh, me lau pacino.

once on blast, while chatting with indu, i'd written this:

"in fact, yesterday i got looked at very strangely by my younger colleague for saying this reminded me of another actor/character who shook my insides.

al pacino as michael corleone. remember? his evolution was really the other way round. but really, both sides of a character carries a bit of the other side... everything is there in the original total being. depends which aspect is more in view when.

but that stillness in his face... that congealed power, the mystique... in no way was it less than this. i don't care if all are laughing at me now. 😳

not a question of quantity though, it was really about the nature of the shot... the actors, the characters. i have often prattled on about wanting to see barun in a michael like role. as a 14 year old, the godfather by mario puzo was one of the most  fascinating books i'd read, just after i saw the film... that experience is in me, even full frontal lobotomy may not extricate it. now you know my thing for bad boys ha ha. but really the authority, the magnificence, the power, and the vulnerability in both these actors in these shots i can't get over. if vijay verma was an inspiration for the writers, i suspect so was michael corleone.

and the essential sexiness of al pacino and barun sobti... death.

al pacino used to make me feel all sorts of things... though barun leaves me a complete wreck. i am so blessed to have seen all the shots in this post. yay.

one thing, gotta say, no one does shades the way barun does 'em. sound effects as indi falls off the cliff."

have you heard hemanta mukherjee's "na tum hamein jaano"? a timeless smooth lilt, a melody that without even seeming to want to, gets inside, makes you want to sing. hemanta's voice, intimate, crooning, mesmerised, taking you through a labyrinth of emotions in search of your humdum... your soulmate, your lover, your love... even if you may not have ever met.

a favourite song of mine. from the 1962 film baat ek raat ki. i so wanted to see what asr and kkg would do with it. ever since i've come across them, the silence keeps telling me a tale.

hope you enjoy the vm.

hemant kumar, as he was known in hindi films, and suman kalyanpur sing. lyrics are by majrooh sultanpuri; music by hemant kumar.

na tum hamein jaano, na hum tumhein jaane
neither do you know me, nor i you
magar lagta hai
kuch aisa mera humdum mil gaya
and yet it feels
as though i have found my soulmate

yeh mausam yeh raat chup hai
the surroundings and this night are quiet
woh honthon ki baat chup hai
the words on those lips are quiet
khamoshi sunane lagi hai dastaan
the silence has begun to tell a tale
nazar ban gayi hai dil ki zubaan
the gaze speaks the language of the heart

mohabbat ke mor pe hum
at the crossing of love
mile sab ko chhorke hum
we met leaving everything behind
dhadakhte dilon ka leke yeh caravaan
on this caravan of beating hearts
chale aaj dono jaane kahaan
the two of us go, who knows where

na tum hamein jaano, na hum tumhein jaane
neither do you know me, nor i you
magar lagta hai
kuch aisa mera humdum mil gaya
and yet it feels
as though i have found my soulmate
