"REYYY!" He heard his name and instantly groaned looking up from his file. He wanted to complete the project and head back home soon and here he was being disturbed.

"Kya hai Sharon? Mein behera nahi hoon! Apna gala kyun phad rahi ho?" He looked irritated and seeing her grinning from ear to ear added more to his irritation.

"Rey guess what!" She said completely ignoring his irritated look and continued grinning.

"What Sharon?" He sounded indifferent and continued reading his file.

Sharon snatched away his file and banged it on his table. She gave him a death glare making him stand up from his chair.

"Mr. Reyansh Singhania, I know you are busy with this project but better take out some time to hear your best friend!" She pointed a finger at him.

"Okay speak up! And it better be important!" He said folding his arms across his chest.

"I went out with Swayam for lunch today and.." she gave him a knowing look but on getting no reaction from him continued, "and he confessed his love for me!" She smiled widely at him.

"What?" He looked at her with wide eyes. "I don't believe it. Uss gadhe ne finally keh diya!" Now he was smiling from ear to ear.

"Ek minute, what do you mean by finally?" Sharon asked narrowing her brows.

"Well from the past one year I'm telling him to say his heart out to you but.." He raised his shoulders earning a tight smack from her.

"Tujhe itne time se pata tha fir bhi you didn't tell me! How mean Rey!" She started hitting him and throwing all the stationary from his table at him.

She picked up a stone paper weight and was about to aim at him. "Abbe pagal ho gayi ho kya? Sir phut jayega mera" He snatched it away from her in time.

She then started hitting him with her hands while he tried his level best to stop her but failed miserably. A knock on his cabin door finally made her stop.

"Sir, I need your signature on these.. documents" A man stepped in with a bundle of files. He gasped seeing the mess in the cabin but quickly composed himself on seeing their stern expressions.

"Sure, leave it on my table, I'll sign them" As instructed, he placed the files on Rey's table and left his cabin.

As soon as he left, Sharon turned to Rey to hit him again but he was faster this time and pulled her into a bone crashing hug. She too hugged him back with the same intensity. After a while, when he felt her calm down, he broke the hug.

"Sorry." She mouthed looking at the mess created in his cabin. Rey just shook his head at her and gave her a side hug.

"Abhi jaake apna kaam khatam karogi so that we can leave for India soon?"

"Yeah, waise bhi I'm too bored here!"

"Haan haan, ab toh meri company bore hi lagegi. Swayam jo mil gaya tujhe" He teased her making her blush. "Oh my God! Sharon Rai Prakash is blushing!"

"Shut up Rey!" She ran out of his cabin hiding her blush.

"I don't believe it! I'm so happy ki finally Swayam ne apne dil ki baat keh di." He said looking at the photo of the trio placed on his table.

Rey barged into Swayam's room and found him staring at Sharon's photo and blushing.

"Swayam" He said with a stern face. His tone sounded 'trouble'.

"Kya hua Rey? Sab theek hai? Any problem?" Swayam placed Sharon's photo back on his table and looked at him.

"Haan..vo.." Rey hesitated in speaking.

"Kya baat hai?" Worry lines began to form on Swayam's face.

"Baat yeh hai ki..Sharon..vo..actually.." Rey said trying to meet Swayam's gaze.

"Kya hua Sharon ko? Is everything alright? REY WILL YOU SPEAK UP!" Swayam said getting impatient and almost barked out his words.

"Vo Sharon mujhse kuch der pehle kehne aayi thi ki..ki YOU FINALLY CONFESSED!" Rey started laughing seeing Swayam's shocked expressions. "Hahahahaha..dude apni shakal dekh!"

"Rey, tujhe toh mein chodunga nahi! Meri saasein atki hui thi tumhare iss drama ki vajah se."

"Oh my god. Saasein atak gayi and all haan." Rey mimicked dramatically earning a slap on his back from Swayam. "Hey, that hurt man." Rey complained.

"Oh, laga tujhe?" Swayam glared.

"Obviously!" Rey said rubbing his back.

"Toh fir aur le!" Swayam started hitting him hard again. "Next time aisa mazak karne se pehle dus baar soch lena."

"Sorry yaar, tujhe uss majnu wale avtar mein dekh ke I just couldn't control myself." He chuckled and soon Swayam too started laughing with him. Both hugged each other. "I'm so happy for you two!" Rey said breaking the hug.

"Aaj raat dinner from me." Rey winked at Swayam and started moving out of his cabin. "Sharon ko bhi bata dena."

"Yeah." Swayam smiled recalling his confession.

"Hey Bhagwan, iss ladki ko kabhi toh apni kitabon ke bahar rehna seekha do." Tanya (Taani's mother) frowned at the dining table.

"Kya baat hai mom?" Shivam said picking up the cucumber slices that she was cutting and sat next to her.

"Tumhari behen! Jab dekho tab padhti rehti hai. Meine kahan usse ki thoda relax kare par voh meri sunti kahan hai." She frowned.

"Mom uska last year hai. Aur aapko toh pata hai na ki voh exams ka naam sunke kitni hyper hojati hai." He said now picking up the tomato slices.

"Jaanti hoon. But iss tarah se sab ignore karke padhna, yeh sahi baat hai?" She asked him.

"Fir se nakhre shuru ki khana nahi khaungi?" He asked to which she just sighed. "Ruko mein bula ke lata hoon."

"Taani chalo, kuch kha lo." Shivam said sitting beside Taani on her bed shifting some of her books.

"Bhai bhook nahi hai." She continued reading from one of her books.

He pulled the book from her hand earning a glare from her. She tried snatching it back from him, but failed.

"Taani, papa humesha kehte the ki khana kabhi ignore nahi karna chahiye, aur mom ke haathon ka bana hua toh bilkul bhi nahi." He smiled at her.

"Bhai not fair. Aapko pata hai ki papa ki baatein mein kabhi mana nahi kar sakti isiliye aap emotionally blackmail kar rahe ho." She pouted at her brother who was smiling seeing her.

"Mein jaanta hoon ki kal tumhara exam hai but iska yeh matlab toh nahi hota ki tum poori duniya bhul jao aur apni books mein khoyi raho. Hmm?" He pulled her cheeks making her giggle. "Ab chale? Mom is waiting."

"Arre, yeh kaise hogaya? Taani apne kamre se bahar! How?" Tanya taunted.

"Mumma.." She whined like a kid and sat down to eat dinner.

"Actha ab yeh tum dono taste karo aur batao ki kaisi bani hai." Tanya excitedly placed a bowl of sweet dish in front of them.

"Ab yeh kaunsa naya aavishkar hai?" Taani eyed the bowl carefully.

"Mujhe Food Magazine se call aaya tha. Voh iss baar alag alag tarah ki sweet dishes ke bare mein publish kar rahe hai. Unhone mujhe apni ek recipe share karne boli hai. Now quickly tell me kaisi bani hai kheer?" Tanya studied their expressions as they ate.

"It's brilliant!" Both Shivam and Taani said together.

[Tanya Shekhawat is a professional cook and has many recipe books published of her own. She loves cooking and always makes her family eat and rate her new experiments. She used to always make Yash (Taani's father), Shivam and Taani eat whatever she cooks. Sometimes they were lucky to eat the delicious dishes before the entire world would even know of it, but sometimes her experiments didn't taste that good, yet they had to finish it off for her sake. After Yash passed away, Tanya continued her food tasting experiments with her kids.]

"Swayam pinch me, Rey is cooking!" Sharon entered the kitchen and found Rey cooking white sauce pasta.

"Shut up Sharon!" Rey snapped back at her and continued stirring the sauce.

"No Rey seriously! Tu khana tabhi banata hai jab tu bohot khush hota hai or after we persuade you A LOT!" Swayam said picking up a spoon to taste the sauce.

"Aaj mein bohot khush hoon." Rey slapped on Swayam's hand stopping him from tasting.

"Kyun?" Sharon asked giggling seeing Swayam's face.

"Kyunki mere dono best friends ek saath hai!" Rey smiled looking at them and they blushed.

"Itna laal hone ki jarurat nahi hai. Chalo now help me set the table" He said earning a smack from the two.

"Rey, humne kuch decide kiya hai." Sharon said playing with her spoon while Swayam sat on his place deadpanned.

"And that is?" Rey asked raising his brow.

"Voh.." Sharon looked at Swayam. He understood she was finding it difficult to say. So, he decided to speak out for her.

"Rey, tujhe toh pata hai ki hum ek dusre se bohot time se pyaar karte hai bas ek dusre ko bola aaj hai." Rey nodded. He continued, "Aur yeh bhi ki hum dono itni jaldi shaadi nahi karna chahte."

"Tujhe uncle ya aunty ne kaha ki shaadi kar lo? Don't worry mein unhe samjha dunga ki tum dono itni jaldi shaadi nahi karna chahte." Rey said referring to Sharon and Swayam's parents.

"Nai Rey aisa nahi hai." Sharon stopped Rey from calling their parents.

"Toh kya baat hai?" Rey eyed them.

"Dude aise mat dekh, mom dad ko humne bataya humare baare mein. It's just that we want your opinion regarding something."

"Speak up." He encouraged them.

"Hum teeno ki bachpan se yeh aadat hai ki hum most of the time ek dusre ke ghar mein pade rehte hai." All three giggled on Swayam's choice of words. "We both feel ki abhi se we should live together. You know like not just sometimes but always. Matlab Sharon shifting permanently to my house."

"Toh problem kya hai?" Rey asked still not sure what the actual problem was.

"Yahi toh problem hai!" Sharon muttered which was heard by Rey.

"Rey, I don't want people speaking nonsense. You know na sab kis tarah ki baatein karte hai." Swayam let out a sigh.

They knew of couples who were in a live-in relationship and people talking nonsense about them. They were afraid that even they might get spoken about.

"Listen guys, let people say whatever they wish to, hum unhe chup nahi kar sakte. What I know is you two love each other and want to spend your life together. So, agar tum dono 'log kya kahenge' iss vajah se voh nahi karoge jo tum chahte ho, then its foolishness. I know ki tum dono ek dusre se kitna pyaar karte ho, so agar kal koi bhi mai ka laal aake kuch bhi kehta hai toh trust me I won't spare him!" He said making them laugh.

Sharon and Swayam hugged Rey tightly, "We love you."

"I love you too."

"Bhai?" Taani peeped into Shivam's room and found him busy packing his bag.

"Kya hua Taani?" He said folding his clothes and putting them into his bag.

"Aap kal ja rahe ho?" She asked her voice low.

"Offo meri nautanki queen!" He made her sit on the bed and kneeled in front of her. "Do din ka kaam hai. Mein bas yun gaya aur yun aaya. Tum kyun itni pareshaan ho rahi ho?"

"Mein jaanti hoon ki aap jald hi aajaoge, but aapka kal hi jana zaroori hai? Pata hai kal mera kitna important paper hai?" She pouted and he nearly slapped his forehead.

"Haan haan aur voh paper mein likhne wala hoon na tumhare liye!" He mocked at her.

"Bhai mein mazak nahi kar rahi! Jao aap, mujhe aapse baat nahi karni." She got up from her bed but was stopped by Shivam.

"Atcha mein chala jaunga. Pehle tum yeh to lelo." He said taking out bournville from his bag.

A smiled appeared on her face and she hugged him tight. "I love you bhai."

"I love you too. Apna aur mom ka khayal rakhna."

It was a combination of character sketch and the actual story line.
Just wanted to try something new rather than the usual stuff.
Although I believe this is the way I used to write.
