Contrary to Shyam's anticipation, Khushi accepted Anjali's proposition without any further protestation. But little did she know that the lack of dissent in her actions only made her brother more guilty. It pulled at chords which previously were not known to exist in Shyam Gupta. The sister with whom he was accustomed to arguing and bicker had accepted something so against her morals so easily that it shook the very crux of his existence.

His heart skipped several beats when the AR car arrived to pick up Khushi and Khushi, without any emotion lighting her pale face rose from her seat, bid her farewell to their mother to whom she lied for what seemed to be the first time of their lives and ascended the car. His heart just wrenched into wretched emotions as the car went beyond the range of his vision.

Khushi Gupta was all in for a surprise when she found Arnav Singh Raizada beside her as soon as she ascended the car. She had not prepared herself to meet him, yet. The man who was supposed to be the father of her first born. The man with whom she was supposed to spend the night. The man who would be her contract husband. She would never be prepared enough to meet him, especially in the situation in which they found themselves in.

While she was caught in a whirlwind of confusion, the other person tangled in this mess with her seemed to be the stark opposite of her current situation. He just nodded at her when she looked at him for the first time and that was it. There was no further exchange of words or glances from his side.

Arnav's nonchalant behavior was irking an already frustrated Khushi. How could he stay so calm? He would not share a healthy relationship with me and he is ready to spend a night with me?

She was under the conception that it would equally tough for him as it was for her but the sight in front of her seemed to prove her wrong. She did not know how to handle the situation she was in. Myriads of thoughts and emotions washed over her tumultuous mind. Would he be thinking her as a characterless person, who was ready to get laid as soon as the opportunity presented itself?

Her self-respect had been broken by her family and she refused it to be broken by a stranger. She was unable to decode his actions even by a fraction. If he had decided to escort her himself, then why was not he striking a conversation? What was going in his mind?

She wanted to question him, rattle him as much as she was, frustrate him with a battle of wits but her ego refused her of the little privileges to which she was obliged. Her ego prohibited her from speaking to a man who was ready to sleep with her but not talk to her. Why should she be the one to speak first? After all, there was a good chance that he would take it as desperation or a cheaper analogue of the same.

The car screeched to a halt pulling her out of her reverie. The man who was the radix of her thoughts descended down and held the door for her. The red anarkali her mother forced her to wear to the 'important conference' she cited to her mother, slightly fluttered in the strong wind, just like her mind swayed with agony and realization that the dreaded moment was drawing closer, as she followed his suite.

As the zephyr hit her face, she felt the reality hitting her hard. Few more moments and she was supposed to share those moments which she had always dreamed of sharing with the one whom she loves beyond everything and the time had brought her to a point where she was supposed to share those moments with an almost stranger.

She decided to confront Arnav, who seemed to be uncannily fine with the arrangement, only to find him walking towards the entrance of the hotel. She began pacing towards him, taking as long strides as she could. After a few moments of strenuous effort, due to obvious lack of physical labour owing to the nature of her work, she overtook Arnav and stopped him mid-way.

"Mr.Raizada, if you could oblige me by opening up about your thoughts on the current situation, I would be really grateful," she spat, her eyes shooting daggers at him.

"Guess you should wait for awhile to be grateful, Miss Gupta, when I set my plan into action," he said calmly, his eyes betraying no warmth to the one craving for it.

An already puzzled Khushi could not take his riddles. Plan? What was he rambling about?

"It is not a time to speak in riddles, Mr.Raizada. What do you mean by 'plan'?" she questioned, the fire in her eyes burning with a vigor that seemed to resonate with her pain.

"Would you please be patient for a while, Miss Gupta? I know it would be asking too much but trust me, just once. Walk with me and wait for ten minutes, please." His sincere voice and pleading eyes compelled her to listen to him and she was too exhausted to fight anything. She just wanted one thing which no one could assure her - peace.

Those ten minutes passed by like eons and no word was exchanged between them. The silent reverie was broken as Arnav's phone began ringing and he rose from his seat to take the call. Khushi chose a seat as far as that she could find from Arnav's, determined to keep the distance as long as she can.

"Come, Miss Gupta. Let's go," he demanded, gently.

"But where?" she questioned, not changing her seated position and tightening her muscles in the position. Adrenaline rushed through her blood vessels as fear, anxiety and pain took over, but her voice remaining strong as always.

"I assume you know All India Institute of Medical Sciences," he drawled, taking in her defiant yet obviously shaken form as admiration filled his senses.

"Yeah but.." She was unable to fathom why he would consider going to AIIMS at eight in the night.

"One of the top gynecologist of AIIMS is a friend of one of the employees of mine and I wanted to take a second insight from her. I thought even you would appreciate this action. And the reason I wanted you to walk with me was because my driver would leave in ten minutes after keeping an eye and he would report to Di and Nani. They would not be very happy to learn about this development. I am sorry if my actions affected you in any unpleasant way," he apologized, while Khushi looked on.

His confession caused the hell of confusion to befall on her but she could draw one conclusion from that confusion - she would never understand Arnav Singh Raizada.
