Part 4
"We don't meet people by accident, they are meant to cross our path for a reason"
Past
The King was really happy with the progress of his Kingdom. He was really happy to have a General like Maan leading his army just like his father once did, he really missed his knight and friend. They were only cordial in front of the people, behind it they were really good friends. The King always wanted Maan to marry his daughter, but the new boy in front of him was a really loyal General and would not look at his daughter which made her sad and he knew so he appointed him as her protector. He was happy to see them together but he also knew of the tragedies they will have to face. His older Priest once told him that. His daughter would be the most powerful sorceress but will also ensue a tragic fate, the only one who could save her was Maan, but they have to overcome a big ordeal to finally be happy. He knows of his daughter's magical powers which were inherited from his late wife her mother. He came to witness them when she used it to heal Maan in his childhood. Since then he has warned her not to use them but he knew his daughter never paid heed to his words. He just wanted her safe. He was worried for both the kids but he knew they had that power to overcome all obstacles. He just hoped everything will be fine soon.
"Princess, you have become really good with the sword now too", The general remarked looking at her skills. "Will you stop calling me Princess for once", She said annoyed.
"Not in this lifetime, as you are th...", He started but was interrupted by her, "Yes, I know, you don't have to remind me". "Well as your loyal General, it is my duty to remind you so you could become a fine ruler, like your father", He smiled looking at her pouting. "Well, then when I will be crowned the ruler, I would make you stop using titles with me", Geet grinned. "Then, Princess you should practice on your skills more as I would only work under a strong ruler", Maan said. "I don't like this sunny weather", She said before using her magic again to make it cloudy. "As the Priestess, you should not be doing this. You are meddling with the laws of nature", He warned. "Alright, I will turn it back", She sighed. "That is better", The General smiled.

"So ready for another match, I will be able to defeat you this time", The Princess challenged. "As long as it helps in polishing your skills to become a perfect ruler, I'm ready Princess", The General replied. They began their sparring match again. Maan was happy to see her progress, she was actually doing more than great, he just wanted her to be stronger, so nothing can overpower her. She hasn't changed in many aspects and her determination did not change either. He smiled recalling their childhood days.
"Maaan", She squealed. "You are back so let's go by the lake, we can play there", the little princess said. She was just 10 back then. "But Geet, I have to gather some things for my work there", said a 13 year old Maan. "I will help you and then we can play right", Geet said. "Alright, lets go", He said making her jump in joy. They have been friends since a long time now and he was really happy having her around, though the Princess of the kingdom, she was very humble and the people loved her. They gathered the things and then went by the lake to play. They were running around when Maan slipped and he hurt his his arm badly in the process. "Ouch...that hurts", He said. "Wait, don't move", Geet said keeping her hands on his broken arm and closed her eyes. Maan felt a strange energy generated in his body and Geet removed her hands. "Try moving now", She said. He moved it and it was like it was never broken. "How did you do that", He asked. "I..I actually have some magical powers but my father restricts me from using them as he fears bad people will come after me", She said. "Then you should follow his wishes and don't use them just for things like this alright", He said. "But your arm..", She tried. "Geet, please I can not risk your safety for anything so please, don't display your powers so openly", He said and she nodded.
Maan was bought back from his thoughts when he heard her, "That is no fair, you were not even concentrating and still I'm defeated". "Well Princess you should not complain or make excuses as the future ruler, you should not go easy on your enemies, consider me as your rival and then fight with your true strength then may be you could defeat me", He said. "Alright then, lets try again", She said and they continued their practice match.
The evil wizard was watching all this and was plotting, "Princess, you should really not meddle with the laws of nature. You don't know what I have in store for you. I managed to break through the force shield guarding your castle, now just a little more time and this Kingdom would be mine". He looked into something and smirked. "The King will be trapped and so would you my dear Princess".
Maan joined Geet for the breakfast. "I will take you to the smaller site today, tomorrow we will head towards the main site", He informed. "Did you discover anything", Geet asked. "Nothing much, though we are trying to find out more", He said. "Alright, let's go", She said. They went to the nearest excavation site. "Wow this is really beautiful," She said. The area was vast and she really admired it. "Ah, this heat, I hate sunny days, wish it was cloudy", She whined. "Haha, I understand but the laws of nature could not be meddled with by anyone", He said.
"Yeah, but just imagine, if you were bestowed with such powers, wouldn't it be fun", She smiled. "Even if I was bestowed with such things, I don't think it is a good thing to meddle with something like this", He said. They walked a little distance and found the working bringing something out.
"What is that", Geet asked curiously. "Looks like another bunch of her belongings, we are getting only that and nothing else", Maan sighed. "Still lets see, may be we would find something which we have been ignoring", She said. They looked through the relics and found a tube sort of instrument. "What is this for", Geet asked. "I don't know, wait there is something written on this", He said. "Something like ...the never ending cycle...I need time to decode it", He said. "Okay, tell me when you get done", She said. "Geet, you said you don't remember most of the parts in your life too. Has it always been like this", He asked. "Yes, for as long as I can remember it, there are many things which seem strange in my life, like something very important to me has been lost and I'm looking for it", She said.
"Hmm...I get the same feeling too, and I get the feeling that I have been places before ...which I know I haven't", He said. "Like Deja vu you mean", She asked. "No, how can I tell you its different from that, like this particular place, I feel I have been here before too, even before I started this excavation", He said. Geet looked at him and he smiled, "You must be thinking I'm mad right".
"No...I don't but we do have many similarities don't you think", She said. "Well yes we do", He conceded.
"Let's go back, we need to find out more on this glass tube you found", He said. "I wonder what is it for", She said holding it and suddenly she felt something. "A never ending loop, a circle without end...", She said. "You can read it", He said. "No, I just like ...I don't know how to explain but something ...", She tried finding words to explain but nothing came to her mind as she was herself surprised as to how she read all that without having any knowledge. "Ah, leave it, let's go back , you must be tired", He said heading back . They went back but he looked back at the excavation site and thought he saw someone else there watching them but then brushed it off thinking he is imagining things now, not knowing that he was right.
