CHAPTER 14

Asad was in the call with Dilshad

Phone conversation:

Asad: Ammi don't worry

Dilshad(emotionally): what if something had happened to you!

Asad: but Ammi nothing had happened so it's ok, it was just a small accident

Dilshad: Ayaan told me how small accident it was so shut up

Asad: he has a habit of exaggerating things, ignore him Ammi

Dilshad: I trust my baby ok, you give your cell to that girl

Asad was relaxed hearing it as making her talk to his Ammi would have left them in awkward situation

Asad went towards his car direction talking to Dilshad

Asad sighed in relief that Dilshad was out of that panic mode

With that Asad got seated in his car

Asad(to driver): drive to office

All had come back from the site and continued with their work in office, Zoya was sitting in her cubic going through Akram's messages and remembering yesterday's conversation or we can say blackmailing, she was occasionally looking towards Asad's cabin thinking how to break this news

Zoya thinking, "common Zoya! Enough of thinking, now go for it...but what's the point doing all this I know he will not approve my resignation again bringing that contract in between, well I don't mind that but seriously Akram's face would be worth a watch when he will hear that akdu rejecting my resignation...(suddenly realizing) Allah Miya!What's wrong with me! Somedays before that contract was creeping me out and now that is becoming my weapon(Zoya bit nervous) what's happening to me?"

Her thought was broken seeing Asad entering the office talking to someone in mobile and directly going inside his cabin

Zoya thinking, "finally the time has come, no Zoya going alone in lion's den that too to break such news can be dangerous wait for some time let anyone enter then you can follow behind "

After some time she saw Ayaan entering the cabin

Zoya thinking, "perfect timing"

She was above to go to Asad's cabin but remembered Akram's word she dialed his number

Phone conversation:

Zoya: I'm going inside Asad sir's cabin

Akram: all the best

Zoya didn't reply to him and went towards his cabin she took two or three steps inside but suddenly rushed back outside realizing that she forgot to knock, but it was too late as Asad had already seen her and was confused that why she went out suddenly, he was above to call her when she knocked his cabin door

Asad thinking, "now I'm sure she is missing two or three nuts"

Asad(controlling his smile): come in

Ayaan: oh Zoya, you have some work?

Zoya: no...i mean yes actually

Ayaan looked at Asad who was trying to control his smile

Ayaan: I will come later

Zoya was fast to react

Zoya: No!! Don't go!

Asad and Ayaan both looked at her weirdly

Zoya(looking at their reaction): I...I mean I won't take much time

Zoya looked at him and seeing him staring at her she immediately shifted her gaze to Ayaan

Asad: are you ok?

Zoya(looking at Ayaan): I'm fine

Zoya extended the resignation to Asad but gaze fixed on Ayaan

Zoya(in a single breath): my registration...I mean my...my resig...nation

Asad smile wiped out hearing her, immediately he was back to Akdu mode

Ayaan(shocked): you...you mean registration right! What registration? Whatever it is, it will be done don't worry

Akram who was listening to all this thinking, " what's going over there"

Zoya: no Ayaan I meant that only (looking down) resignation

Asad snatched the envelope from her and read it

Ayaan: but Zoya, what happened all of sudden

Zoya: as I said earlier also, something personal came up so...

Asad(with a straight face): will see what we can do about it

Zoya was shocked and disappointed hearing him that he didn't stop her like before, Now she was feeling terrible she was having full confidence that he will stop her.

Asad: we need to discuss something can you please wait outside

Zoya nodded and was above to leave from there when Ayaan stopped her

Ayaan: Zoya why you're doing this?

Zoya looked at him confused

Ayaan: I know it's personal and I respect that, but during your interview, you had said that it's your dream job and you always wanted to work here, so whatever may be the reason is it so big that you are giving up on your dream

Zoya: Ayaan there are some lucky people whose dream comes true but also there are people who are there to keep the actual definition of dream alive so that people doesn't get confused between dream and reality

Ayaan didn't know what to say after that and Asad was so blinded by anger that he just ignored her words

Zoya left from there and directly rushed to washroom she looked at herself in the mirror and washed her face to calm her inner turmoil, she is now realizing the seriousness of the matter, again her mobile ranged and it was from Akram sometime before she was irritated and annoyed but now she was scared, Zoya answer the call disinterested

Akram: you were getting worried for no reason see everything went smoothly

Zoya closed her eyes tightly to control her sob

Akram: I think I'm very lucky for you, why don't you always keep me near you, Anyway I'm coming to pick you up, I will drop you home

Zoya(wiping her tears): no need, I will meet you at home

Akram: see you in DC

With that he disconnected the call, she kept her mobile in her jeans pocket

She further read the letter and was shocked seeing Zoya's name

What she did that Asad is taking such a step? Whatever it is the thing is Zoya is getting terminated! Today I'm gonna party all night!"

Her thoughts was broken by Asad's voice

Asad: Tanveer!

Tanveer: ye...yes jammy.I mean Asad

Asad was not in a mood to argue with anyone so without saying anything he just gave the file to her

Tanveer took a file with a smile and went from there

After sometime Asad dialed Zoya's extension from his cordless but then nobody was answering it

Asad: now what happened to her, don't tell me she already left if so then nobody can save you, Ms. Zoya Siddiqui

Asad came out of his cabin taking the termination letter with him, he was looking for her she was not in her place he saw Rohan standing near the reception so he went to him

Asad: where is that architect Zoya Siddiqui

Rohan: I don't know sir, I just came here now only, she might be in her cubic

Asad was above to say something but was interrupted by the receptionist

Receptionist: sir sorry to interrupt you but if you are searching for Zoya ma'am then she is downstairs in visitors lounge, there was a visitor for her

Asad: great! In office hours she is doing meet and greet session

Rohan: sir now it's a lunch time and we can meet the visitors at lunch time and after office hours

Asad checked the time on his wristwatch, indeed it was lunch time

Asad, "what's wrong with me, good thing she's going everything will be back to normal then, wait a second she is not going I'm throwing her out of my office"

He went towards the lift without saying anything to them. Here Tanveer was noticing Asad since the time he came out of his cabin and seeing the envelope she guessed its regarding that termination

Tanveer thinking, "I think jammy is going to give that termination letter to Zoya, how can I miss that wonderful scene, I want to cherish that moment for entire life"

She also followed him quietly

Asad was going towards the visitor lounge from the little distance he had spotted Zoya talking to a man whose back was facing him, he halted his step seeing Zoya's face which was so pale, due to unknown reason seeing her face with so much helplessness was hurting him a lot

Asad thinking, "why is this girl so complicated! Why can't I stand sadness in her eyes, why do I always feel there is something which is bothering her"

Asad remembered her conversation with Ayaan sometimes before

Flashback:

Now I get it maybe because of our yesterday conversation but you doesn't leave either option for me, now cheer up you will get new job in no time and of course, I will choose the company

Asad was not liking his tone that man was giving him negative vibes and he was also confused why is Zoya standing like a puppet without saying a word though she is nervous but she speaks her heart out to him in professional matters and his biggest confusion was whether she want to stay or really leave

Zoya looked at Akram to say something when she noticed Asad standing behind

Zoya: Asad sir ( she said in a whisper)

Akram followed her gaze and turn around and saw Asad

Akram: excuse me! who are you?

Asad ignored his question and came towards Zoya

Asad: I was searching for you, I had said that I will call you after our discussion right

Zoya thinking, "finally Zoya! Time has come"

Akram was also having an evil smirk and from the distance, Tanveer was witnessing everything in excitement

Asad: we are not approving your resignation

Akram smirk had wiped out of his face hearing him and Zoya looked at him totally shocked because back in cabin the way he was throwing daggers at her it was sure he was going to throw her out but then she wondered suddenly what made him change his mind

Here Asad had made his mind to terminate her but then after looking at her disturbed face he didn't know what has got into him that he crumbled the envelope in his wrist and took this decision and looking at the change of expression on her face which was shocked but also relaxed he knew he took the right decision

Akram(irritated): how can you force her like this!

Asad: Who are you?

Akram: I... I'm her family member

Zoya made a disgusted face when he said that which Asad had noticed

Asad: and you think that title gave you the authority to interrupt our conversation

Akram: and you think you have so much privilege to take her life decision

Asad: I have ( immediately changing his words) I can take decision of her life until she is inside my organization and I'm not letting her go anywhere (looking at her) I mean until you complete 3 major projects over here

Akram: I will not let her work here!

Asad(sarcastically): in my presence, let me see how you do that

With that Asad left from there but stopped in a distance hearing Akram's ranting

Akram(angrily to Zoya): did you saw how he talked to me!!! still, you are so desperate to work over here! It's all your fault

Zoya(nervously): Akram...

Akram: oh shut up!!!! Today you proved such a big fool you are, how could you sign a bond without reading it! Actually, it's my fault I was lenient to you since sometimes, what was the need of leaving your previous company foolish women

Asad's blood boiled hearing him talk to her like that, he just wanted to beat him to black and blue that he won't dare to talk to any women like that and would shiver to even take Zoya's name from his filthy mouth. But then he knew it's not the correct place or time so with lot of difficulties he composed himself

Here Akram was continuously firing Zoya but then was stopped as Asad stood in between them as a wall

Asad: one more word and I promise you will have to call the ambulance to take you from here

For a second Akram was scared hearing his threatening voice also he know how powerful business tycoon AAK is

Zoya knowing what extent can Akram go

Zoya: Asad sir, please...

Asad was shocked hearing her, this man was humiliating her so much and she is telling him to stop

Asad: out of my organization now!!

Akram was extremely angry at his humiliation, he thought to give Zoya one last warning look before leaving but only if he will get access as Asad was standing between them as a great wall of china

After seeing him out of the premises, Zoya knew now it's her turn so she silently took a step towards the exit like jerry trying to run away from tom but felt a grip on her hand and she knew who was it within a second she was pulled towards him, colliding her back in the pillar, Asad took a step towards her

Asad: that man was humiliating you so much and still you were stopping me, well I have heard love is blind but I never knew love was so stupid too

Zoya was fast to react to this statement

Zoya: I DON'T LOVE HIM!

Asad(gritted): then why the hell were you quiet!

All this was not helping her out at all, firstly she can't tell him anything about Akram and secondly even if she want to, she can't because of their close proximity she was feeling butterflies in her stomach, making her tongue tied

Zoya(composing herself): that's because...I...

Asad had realized he was going over the board he doesn't have that much right, he immediately stepped back

Asad: whatever it is, I don't care but the thing I care about is, it's an organization not some amusement park ride that you can change your mind whenever you want, this is the last time I'm talking about this matter if you want you can note it down, without completing three major projects you can't leave my company I hope its clear to you now

With that, he was left from there

Zoya: what a day! I'm getting a headache now, I was right before that Akdu will never break his company's policy, at least there is something which is more important than his ego, but why did I felt so relaxed when I saw him?...nothing Zoya its just because he indirectly saved you that's it nothing else! Allah Miya! I hope you have not planned any more twist for today

Zoya was leaving from there when she felt that she stepped on something she looked down to find a paper ball, Zoya picked it up and was above to throw it in bin when she remembered Asad crumbling some paper again ignoring it she was above to throw it but then she is Zoya she is born with inbuilt curiosity, she went to one corner as if all the eyes are on her and straightened the letter and was shocked reading it

Zoya: termination letter! He was actually going to terminate me (fuming) when it comes to his ego then no policy matters to that akdu (but then she was confused) if the policy is not the reason than what made him change his mind all of sudden? He is complicated! and Allah Miya! I casually asked you if there is anymore twist, you didn't have to take it so seriously!

Zoya looking back at the letter with the evil smirk

Zoya thinking, "Mr. Akdu Ahmed khan, you keep on threatening me with that bond thing right, now look what have I got, the letter which indicates you are terminating me which means I don't have to pay any compensation and also this is signed by AAK itself with DC stamp by using this letter I can leave DC anytime but since you saved me from that jerk even I should payback right so I will complete three major projects over here then will leave "

With that, she threw that letter in the bin and left from there

Here one person was fuming seeing all this drama yeah that's none other than Tanveer

Tanveer thinking,"What the hell was that! Why did jammy change his mind all of sudden! Zoya, too bad for you, if you would have left then it would have been better now wait and watch till what extent I can go for my jammy, but who was that guy? one thing was obvious from her face that he is not in her good books, there is a saying right enemy's enemy should be our friend"

Tanveer went to the security office near the main gate

Security guard: yes madam, how can I help you?

Tanveer: actually today morning some clients had come and they forgot to leave their card now Asad want to contact them urgently so can you show me the register, they might have entered their contact details right

Security guard: sure maam

They gave the register to her, she checked the person name who had lastly entered

Tanveer thinking, "Akram Sheikh, I'm sure it's the same person"

Tanveer(looking at the guards): here it is Mr. Bhatia's contact number! I will note down his number

She noted down Akram's number instead and gave the register back

Tanveer: thank you (she left from there with a cunning smile)

Najma: it's my birthday party and you are coming

Zoya: me?... I mean...Humeira will attend kyu gudiya?

Asad was angry & ready to terminate her but changed his decision after seeing akram with zoya. He showed to akram what his place is. Zoya saw her termination letter as well & was confused why he changed his decision. Waiting for their conversation. Precap was interesting.
