Chapter 29


Next morning, Raman woke up with heavy head, he opened his heart with much difficult and felt heaviness on his chest, he titled his head and saw Shagun sleeping wrapping her arms around his body. Raman looked on confuse, he roamed his eyes around the room and reminisced the last night. He saw some blur vision of their intimate moments when Raman opened his eyes with a jerk. Feeling some movement in his body, Shagun woke up and seeing his discomfort she shifted beside.

"Shagun.. Kal.. Kal raat yaha kuch hua?" He asked hesitate. But Shagun didn't reply to him. "Shagun I am asking you something. Answer me damn it..!"

(Raman : Shagun, was anything happen last night here?)

He asked aloud making her worried, "Raman.. Kal.. Kal shayad tum kuch zyada.. Kuch zyada hi drink kar liya tha.."

(Shagun : Raman.. You.. You were highly drunk last night.)

"Shagun humare beech kya hua?" He asked straight.

(Raman : Shagun what happened in between us?)

"Raman woh.. Mein.. Tum..!" She stammered with lowering her eyes.

(Shagun : Raman.. I.. You..)

"Kya?" He asked aloud.

(Raman : What?)

"Raman.. I know iss mein tumhari koi galti nahi thi.. Kal raat jo hua, bhool jao please.." She said with her fake tears.

(Shagun : Raman.. I know it wasn't for fault. Whatever happened last night, please forget it.)

"Bhool jao? Kya kal raat?" Raman asked shocked when Shagun slightly shook her head in yes. "Oh no..! Mein.. Meine yeh galti kaise kar diya? Kaise?" He covered his face in his palm.

(Raman : Forget it? Was last night..? How could I do that? How?)

"Raman..!"

"Shagun leave me alone please." Saying this, Raman left the room taking his shirt, Shagun smirked seeing him helpless, "Ab kya karoge Ishita? Ab toh tumhara pati tumhare hath se gaya."

(Shagun : What will you do now Ishita? Now your husband will slip away from your hand.)

Raman goes to the terrace and hit his fist on the wall. "How could I do this? Mein Ishita ko kaise dhoka de sakta hoon. Usko kaise..!" He collapsed on the floor crying. Just then his phone rang, Raman saw Ishita was calling him when he wiped his tears and received the call, "Hello?"

(Raman : How can I ditch Ishita? How will I say..!)

"Raman aap theek ho na? Kal se baat hi nahi ki aapne." Raman could feel her concern for him but he wasn't in that state to reply something. "Raman? Aap sunn rahe ho na?"

(Ishita : Raman are you fine? You didn't talk with me since yesterday. Raman? Are you listening?)

"Hmm.." He hummed.

"Raman.. Mujhe aisa kyu lag raha hai aap theek nahi ho?"

(Ishita : Raman.. Why have I a feeling that you aren't well..!)

"Ishita mein theek hoon. Tumse baad mein baat karta hoon." Saying this, he hang up the call and cried. "Nahi.. Mein ussey yeh baat chhupa kar dhoke mein nahi rakh sakta. Ghar ja kar mujhe ussey baat karni hogi." Raman made his mind and left from there.

(Ishita : Ishita, I am fine. I will talk with you later. No.. I can't ditch her, hiding this. I have to talk with her after reaching home.)

Inside the hotel room, Raman was packing his stuffs when Shagun walked in, "Raman?"

Raman stopped his work but didn't look at her. "Raman.. I know you are worried. But mein ek suggestion doon? I don't think tumhe Ishita ko kuch batana chahiye.. Kuch din o mein tum dono ki shadi hai, mein nahi chahti meri wajah se tum dono ke beech koi misunderstandings aye. Mein Mumbai wapas jate hi kahi aur shift ho jaungi."

(Shagun : May I suggest you something? I don't think you should say anything to Ishita. You both are going to marry after few days, and I don't want anything happen in between you two for me. I will shift somewhere else after reaching Mumbai.)

"Shagun mein Ishita ko dhoka nahi de sakta. Aur mein janta hoon, Ishita sach janke mujhe samjhegi." Raman said thoughtful.

(Raman : Shagun, I can't ditch Ishita. And I know she will understand me after learning this.)

"Raman, you are mistaken. Tumhe sach mein lagta hai woh samjhegi? Raman ek ladki kabhi yeh nahi seh sakti ki uske pati..." But she paused as she saw Raman was glaring at her.

(Shagun : Do you think, she will understand? Raman.. A girl never can tolerate when her husband..)

"Shagun kya tumhe lagta hai ki meine janbujhkar..." He asked furious.

(Raman : Shagun do you think I did this intentionally?)

"Nahi Raman.. Mere kehne ka woh matlab nahi tha... Galti toh mujhse hui.. Mujhe tumhe rokna chahiye tha par.. Par mein bhi behek gayi thi.. Mere liye jo kuch hua woh.. Woh sahi tha.." She said playing with her knuckles.

(Shagun : No Raman.. I didn't mean it. I did mistake. I should have stop you but.. But I also lost my sense. According to me, whatever happened.. Was right.)

"Kya matlab?"

(Raman : What do you mean?)

"Raman.. Mein tumse pyaar karti hoon."

(Shagun : Raman.. I love you.)

That was another shock for him, he looked at her puzzled. Raman ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "Tum.. Mujhse pyaar? Shagun tum sunn bhi rahi ho jo tum bol rahi ho? Tum janti ho meri Ishita se shadi hui hai, mein ussey pyar karta hoon... Please yaar, situation ko aur complicate maat karo."

(Raman : You? Love me? Shagun can you head what you said? You know I got married with Ishita and I love her. Please, don't make things more complicated.)

"I know that Raman.. Par mein apni feelings ko kaise rok sakti hoon? Aur waise bhi mein tumse pyar karti hoon, yeh meri problem hai. Mein tum dono ke beech nahi ana chahti aur iss liye tumhe rok rahi hoon. Aage tumhari marzi." Saying this Shagun left, leaving confused Raman behind.

(Shagun : How can I stop my feelings? And it's my problem that I love you. I don't want to come in between and that's why I am stopping you. Rest your wish.)

Raman reached home and saw the huge hustle bustle. "Raman, aap.. Aagaye?" Ishita ran to him and greeted him. Soon, the other members welcome him. "Ishita.. Ishita mujhe tumse baat karni hai." Raman said taking her aside.

(Ishita : Raman.. You came..!
Raman : Ishita, I want to talk with you.)

"Raman abhi?"

(Ishita : Raman now?)

"Haan chalo.." He dragged her from there. Raman took her in their room, "Raman kya hua? Aap aise.."

(Raman : Yes come.
Ishita : Raman what happened? Why did you...)

But he didn't reply to her. "Raman?" She made him turn at her when she saw him crying. "Raman.." She made him sit on the bed. "Kya hua? Aap ro kyu rahe ho?"

(Ishita : What happened? Why are you crying?)

"Ishita.. Mein.. Mujhse bohot badi galti ho gayi." Raman said crying.

(Raman : Ishita.. I.. I made a big mistake.)

"Raman aap aise kyu bol rahe ho? Hua kya?" She asked as a tear rolled out from her eyes seeing him in pain.

(Ishita : Raman why are you saying like this? What happened?)

"Ishita.. Manali mein.. Mein aur Shagun.." And he cried making her shocked.

(Raman : Ishita.. I and Shagun.. At Manali..)

"Mein aur Shagun kya Raman?"

(Ishita : You and Shagun what Raman?)

"Mujhe maaf kardo.. Yeh sab janbujhkar nahi hua tha." He cried.

(Raman : Please forgive me.. I didn't done that intentionally.)

Ishita didn't say him anything, she got up and going to leave when Raman held her hand saying, "Ishita.. Mujhpe bhaarosa karo."

(Raman : Ishita.. Believe me.)

"Raman, yeh bharosa sabd ka matlab aap nahi samjhoge. Meine toh aap par bharosa kia tha na..! Ankh band kar kia tha.. Kya mila mujhe? Dhoka? Agar aapko Shagun hi chahiye thi toh keh dete mujhse, chali jati aapki zindagi se... Phir laut ke bhi nahi aati.. Iss rishte ka iss tarah mazak na hi banaya hota..." She cried and going to leave when Raman asked, "Kaha ja rahi ho?"

(Ishita : Raman, you won't understand the meaning of trust. I trust you.. I blindly trust you. What I get? Betrayal? If you wanted Shagun then you could have inform me. I would have go away from your life. You shouldn't make fun of this relationship.
Raman : Where are you going?)

"Aapko aazad kar rahi hoon. Mein yeh rishta khatam kar rahi hoon.. Aap khush raho.." Saying this she left the room.

(Ishita : You are free now. I am ending the relation. Be happy.)

"ISHITA..!" Raman screamed out and opened his eyes, he found himself sitting in the flight. Raman recalled Shagun's words and thought about his dream and he looked on.

Raman?" Ishita whispered seeing her husband standing at the doorway. "Mummy ji.. Raman aagaye." Saying this she ran to him, Raman gave her a fade smile. The family greeted them happily but Raman didn't seem to be happy, he was only staring at Ishita and fighting with his mind and heart.

(Ishita : Mummyji, Raman arrived.)

"Raman?" Ishita slightly shook him when he came back to his sense, "Aap fresh ho jao." With a nod, he left from there.

(Ishita : You go and freshen up.)

Raman walked in the room and recalled Ishita's happy face, "Kuch samajh nahi aaraha hai.. Kya karu, kya nahi.. Itni badi galti mujhse kaise ho gayi." He was cursing himself when suddenly he felt two arms encircled him, Raman quickly jerked hands off without thinking and turned worried.

(Raman : I don't understand what to do, what to not.. How could I do that sin.)

"Raman.. Mein hoon." Ishita said cupping his face, he kept looking at her for few good times and then hugged her tightly. "Mujhe chhodh kar maat jao Ishita.. Please..!"

(Ishita : Raman, it's me.
Raman : Don't leave me Ishita.)

"Raman.." She patted on his back to console him.

"Maar jaunga tere bina."

(Raman : I will die without you.)

Raman, mein yehi hoon.. Aapke paas.. Kya ho gaya aapko?" She made him sit.

(Ishita : Raman, I am here.. Near to you. What happened with you?)

"Kuch nahi." He composed himself before Ishita could sense anything. "Actually, tere saath rehne ki aadat ho gayi hai, iss liye tujhse durr yeh din muskil se hi kate hai."

(Raman : Nothing. Actually I am habituate to be with you and that's why these days, I spend with difficult.)

She smiled and ruffled his hair saying," Pagal ho gaye ho aap." saying this Ishita was going to leave when he held her hand, "Kahi maat jao.. Mere paas raho."

(Ishita : You are gone mad.
Raman : Don't go anywhere. Stay with me.)

Ishita smiled and sat back, Raman placed a kiss on her forehead and hugged her tightly when a tear escaped from his eyes. They remained in same position until they heard a knock on the door. Ishita opened the door and saw Rinki standing, "Bhabhi.. Bhaiya.. Pandit jee aye hai shadi ki date fix karne. Mummy bula rahi hai." Ishita nodded and they left from the room.

(Rinki : Bhaiya bhabhi priest has arrived to fix your marriage date. Mummy is calling you both.)

The priest was checking their kundali when Mrs Bhalla asked, "Kya hua pandit jee? Sab theek hai na?"

(Mrs Bhalla : What happened? Is everything fine?)

"Haan jee.. Sab theek hai. Agle mahine mein ek subh din hai vivah ke liye." He said but Raman immediately said, "Agle mahine kyu? Iss mahine kyu nahi?"

(Priest : He's everything is fine. Next month has a auspicious day for the marriage.
Raman : Next month? Why not this month?)

Everyone laughed seeing him so desperate, "Bhai.. Ek hi toh mahine hai, kat jayega." Rinki teased when Ishita blushed but Raman looked on worried. Other side, Shagun was smirking seeing Raman so helpless.

(Rinki : Bhai, it's about one month.)

"I wish, Raman Ishita ko kuch na kahe.. Nahi toh mera plan bigad jayega." She thought.

(Shagun : I wish Raman will not say anything to Ishita else my plan will get flop.)


"Phir te agle mahine hi shadi hogi. Aur humein waqt bhi mil jayega taiyari ki..." Mrs Bhalla confirmed the date when Raman looked on.

(Mrs Bhalla : So they will get married in next month and we will get time for preparations.)

Few days passed, Raman always tried to avoid Ishita as he knew Ishita knows him so well that she could catch him.

On a such day, Raman was working in his laptop, he was present in hall when Ishita came with his tea. She kept it on the table and took sit. "Raman.. Aaj kal aapko ho kya gaya hai?" She asked worried.

(Ishita : Raman.. What happened with you nowadays?)

"Kyu?" He asked without looking at her.

(Raman : Why?)

"Aap pehle jaise mujhse baat nahi karte ho. Waqt nahi bitate ho..!"

(Ishita : You won't talk with me like before. Won't spend time with me.)

"Ishita, kaam ka pressure hai."

(Raman : Ishita, have some work pressure.)

"Woh pehle bhi tha Raman.. Par pehle aap aise nahi karte the. Kya kuch hai jo aap mujhse chhupa rahe ho?" She asked sarcastically when he looked at her and said stammering, "Kyu? Kyu.. Tumhe aisa lag raha hai? Mein kya chupaunga tumse? Actually ek project mila hai, toh ussi ka hi pressure hai. Aur kuch nahi."

(Ishita : That had before even. But you never did this. Is there anything you are hiding?
Raman : Why are you thinking like this? Why do I need to hide things from you. Actually I got a project and that's why have pressure.)

Ishita kept looking at her as if she didn't convince. "Mein aata hoon.. Ek phone call karna hai." And he excused leaving a confused Ishita.

(Raman : I am just coming. I have to make a phone call.)

"Shayad kuch zyada hi soch rahi hoon." She said and eased her thoughts, she was going to leave when she saw Shagun walked out with her luggage. "Shagun?" Ishita walked to her, "Kya hua? Kaha ja rahi ho?"

(Ishita : May be I am over thinking. Shagun? What happened? Where are you going?) [/B

"Ishita, mein aapne new flat mein shift ho rahi hoon." Seeing her leaving Mrs Bhalla came there.

[B] (Shagun : Ishita, I am shifting in my new flat.)

"Par aise achanak.." Ishita asked.

(Ishita : But why suddenly?)

"Haan.. Aur kitne din yaha rahungi.. Aur waise bhi Mummy papa bhi yaha shift ho rahe hai iss din mein toh socha mein bhi.." She said faking a sad face.

(Shagun : Yes. How much time will I stay there. And moreover mom dad is shifting here within few days.)

"Abhi kuch din reh jao. At least meri aur Raman ki shadi tak. Dekho tum Raman ki kitni achhi dost ho aur ab toh meri bhi ho, toh dosti ke khatir reh jao." Ishita insisted her when Mrs Bhalla also insisted so Shagun agreed. She looked at the staircase and saw Raman standing, she maintained a helpless face when Raman left from there and she smirked.

(Ishita : Stay back for next few days. At least until I and Raman get married. See, you are good friend of Raman and now mine too. Stay back for sake of our friendship.)

Two weeks passed, in this two weeks, Shagun tried her best to create rift between Raman Ishita but as Raman himself maintaining distance from Ishita so Shagun couldn't succeed in her plans. On a such day, Ishita decided to prepare Raman's favourite dishes. She was arranging the ingredients when Shagun came there, "Shagun kuch chahiye?" Ishita asked.

(Ishita : Shagun do you need anything?)

"Haan.. Mujhe lemon juice bana doge please.. Tabiyat kuch theek nahi lag rahi hai." Ishita smiled saying, "Haan.. Kyu nahi.. Tum baitho."

(Shagun : Yes. Can you make lemon juice for me please. I am not feeling well.
Ishita : Yes. Why not? You sit.)

Ishita made the juice and served her. "Waise tum kya kar rahi ho?" Shagun asked seeing the ingredients.

(Shagun : By the way what are you doing?)

"Woh.. Mein Raman ke liye kuch bana rahi hoon, unki pasand ki.. Pata nahi unke aaj kal ho kya gaya hai. Shayad isse dekh kar khush ho jaye." Ishita said with a smile.

(Ishita : I am making Raman's favourite dishes. God knows what happened with him nowadays. May be he will get happy seeing this.)

"Oh nice."

Ishita walked into the kitchen and started her work when she saw Raman was leaving. "Raman? Office ja rahe ho?" She asked.

(Ishita : Raman are you going office?)

"Haan kyu?"

(Raman : Nothing. Just )

"Nahi.. Bas jaldi wapas aana. Aapka intezar karungi." Raman smiled at her but his smile faded when he saw Shagun there. He was going to leave when Shagun said, "Raman mujhe doctor ke paas drop kar doge. Meri appointment hai."

(Ishita : Nothing.. Just come back soon. I will wait for you.
Shagun : Raman can you drop me at doctor's clinic. I have an appointment.)

"Shagun, mujhe kahi aur meeting hai." He tried to avoid her.

(Raman : Shagun I have meeting at somewhere else.)

"Kya Raman aap bhi.. Bechari ki tabiyat theek hai. Itna nahi kar paoge uske liye." Ishita tried to convince her when unwillingly he agreed.

(Ishita : What is this Raman.. She isn't well. Can't you do this for her?)

Raman dropped her at the clinic and was going to leave when he saw Shagun was stumbling and suddenly she collapsed on floor senseless. Worried Raman picked her in his arms and walked in the clinic.

"Doctor Shagun?" Raman sarcastically looked at the doctor when she came after checking Shagun. Raman looked on confuse seeing the doctor smiling. "Woh theek hai na?" He asked.

(Raman : Is she alright?)

But the doctor kept smiling. "Doctor say something."

"You have a good news. Shagun is pregnant." The doctor declared making Raman shocked. "What? What are you saying?"

"Yes. Woh ma banne wali hai." The doctor said happily when Shagun walked in and Raman glared at her shocked, she looked down.

(Doctor : She is going to be mother.)

"Shagun.. Come sit.. Mein kuch medicine prescribe kar rahi hoon, waqt pe lena." Shagun nodded. "Aur tumhari report." She handed the report to Shagun.

(Doctor : Shagun I am prescribing you some medicine, take them on time and your report.)

Raman and Shagun walked out the clinic, without saying anything he left from there. Shagun smirked and looked at the report saying, "I am pregnant."

Raman walked in his cabin, he was completely clueless about what to do. Now things are getting more complicated. He knew the baby is his responsibility but Ishita..! How will he confront her. He can't loose her at any cost. The entire day Raman couldn't concentrate on his works and other way, Shagun was happy and busy in plotting.

"Baby aapne toh mumma ka kaam kitna asan kar diya. Jo kaam mumma ab tak nahi kar payi. Ab aap karoge. Ab Raman aur Ishita ko alag hone se koi nahi rok sakta. Bas ab mujhe yeh family ko batana hai kisi bhi haal mein..." She smirked placing her hand on the stomach. "Kya karu..? Agar yeh Ishita ke hath laga bhi toh woh gawar kuch samjhegi nahi.. Phir?" She wondered when she saw Simmi was passing by there and a idea cracked her mind. She pretend to feel vomiting and ran to the washroom, hearing noise Simmi walked in her room and saw Shagun entering the washroom.

(Shagun : Baby you made your mumma's work easy. The work which your mummy couldn't do this all these days now you will complete it. Now no one can stop Raman and Ishita to get separate. Now I have to info the family. What to do? If Ishita see the report that girl won't understand anything. Then..?)

"Shagun tum theek ho?"

(Simmi : Shagun are you fine?)

Shagun acted inside, "Yes Simmi.. Can.. Can you please give me the towel? I kept it on the bed." And she smirked.

"Yeah sure." Simmi searched for the towel on the bed when she saw the medical report. "Hua kya isse?" Saying this, she checked the report and gets shocked seeing the positive report.

(Simmi : What happened with her?)

"Shagun..! Pregnant?" Suddenly intentionally snatched the report. "Shagun yeh sab..."

(Simmi : Shagun this?)

"Ku.. Kuch nahi." Shagun turned smirking.

(Shagun : Nothing.)

"No. Show me. Tum pregnant? Kab hua yeh sab? Aur kaun?" Simmi asked.

(Simmi : You are pregnant? When did this happen? And who?)

"Simmi please." She tried to get back the report. But Simmi read the report where Raman's name was written in Father category. "Raman bhai? Kya yeh sach hai?" Shagun didn't say anything and fake tear escaped from her eyes. "Shagun I am asking you something?" Simmi shook her when Shagun cried.

(Simmi : Is it true?)

"Nahi.. Kaise? Tum dono yeh kaise kar sakte ho? Bhai kaise?" Simmi cried. "Ish.. Ishita..!" Saying this Simmi left from there when Shagun called her smirking.

(Simmi : No.. How? How could you both do this? And bhai how?)

Simmi walked out from her room when she bumps into Raman, she glared at him and dragged him from the hall. They came on the terrace. "Simmi kya hua?"

(Raman : Simmi what happened?)

"Bhai.. How could you do this?" She asked angrily.

"Kyu? Kya hua?" Raman asked worried.

(Raman : Why? What happened?)

"Kya aap sach mein nahi jante kya hua?" Raman looked on worried as well as confuse. "Mujhe pata hai Shagun pregnant hai." Raman shockingly looked at her. "Bhai aap Ishita se pyar karte ho na? Phir aap usko aise dhoka kyu diya? Aaj pehli baar mujhe aapse nafrat ho rahi hai." Raman was shockingly looked at Simmi when she continued, "Uss Ishita ne har kadam pe aapka sath diya aur aap?"

(Simmi : Don't you really know what happened? I know, Shagun is pregnant. Bhai you love Ishita right? Then how could you ditch her? First time, I am hating you bhai. Ishita was with you in every time but you?)

"Simmi.. Mujhe.."

(Raman : Simmi.. I..)

"Shut up.. Aapne sirf Ishita ke hi nahi hum sabka trust tod diya. Chee..!" Simmi cried. "Nahi.. Ishita ko mein sach bata dungi. Usko aur andhere mein nahi rakh sakti." Simmi said and looked at Raman who was looking down.

(Simmi : Today you break Ishita's trust as well as our. No.. I will say her the truth. I can't keep her in dark.)

"Nazar kyu niche hai aaj bhai? Jab yeh sab karte waqt Ishita ka khayal nahi aya phir ab sach ko accept karne mein kaisi sharam? Kabse.. Kabse chal raha hai yeh sab? Aur kab hua yeh sab?" And she recalled Raman's changing behaviour once he returned from Manali. "Manali mein?" But he didn't reply anything to her. "Mein Ishita ko sab sach batane ja rahi hoon." Saying this she turned to leave and saw Ishita was standing at the doorway shocked.

(Simmi : Why are you looking down? When you didn't think once about Ishita before doing this then why are you ashamed of accepting it? From when all these are happening? Manali? I am going to tell everything to Ishita.)

"Ishita?" Raman looked on shocked.
