Chapter 15 (Written by Shab)
Sid entered his luxurious home in Mumbai and stood in the doorway watching his parents
"Dekho nah Rajji Sid humein yaad hi nahin karta
Ab mere samne aaye ga to uske kaan kheech ke mein. ... "
Suddenly her eyes fell on a shadow at the Door
Sid!!!!! tum yahan.."
Simmi face lit up as she rushed to hug him
"Bataya kyon nahin tum aare ho. .mein airport aa jaati. Tumhare maan pasand khane..."
Sid hugged her suddenly as few tears fell from his eyes..
"Arre kya hua Sid...tum aisa.. yeh ansoo. What's the matter"
"Mom I need you now more than I've ever needed you before. ."
Simmi in a state of panic
"Of course Sid I'm always here for you, you know that. Tell me what's wrong" Simmi said caressing his cheeks
"Kya baat hai puttar" said Raj placing his hand on his shoulder
Sid sat down on to the sofa and placed his head in his mother's lap. He told them everything that had happened that night.
Both Raj and Simmi listened intently and we're shocked at what they were hearing.
"Naashe ke haalat mein shaadi ... aur Roshni,"
Sid shrugged his shoulders
"I don't know mom. .I tried to talk to her but she just ran to India. I want this marriage to work. I want Roshni to be my wife more than anything. You have to talk to her family. ..Make them understand, that this marriage is not a joke for me...that it means everything to me."
"Of course we'll make them understand ...Roshni humari bahu hai..woh humari amaanat hai. We'll get her back...we'll get her back for you"
"Pakka" Sid sighed
Pakka Promise"
DD PENTHOUSE
"I don't belive this" shouted DD
"How can you be so careless Roshni... What
if the press finds out. My Reputation my Name will be ruined...you know how hard I've worked to be where I am today"
Roshni sobbing knew no bounds,, as she clung onto her Nani
"Durga look she didn't do anything intentionally. At least she had the nerve to tell us the truth ..." Nani tried to reason with DD
"Mom I don't have time for your lectures, and as for you Roshni how could you do this to me. . How could you be so damn careless"
"All your life you have only disappointed me
..But this...This tops them all"
"I'm sorry mom...I'm sorry I didn't mean to..."
"Sorry! ...Sorry! ...that's it. You get drunk and get married, But Hey its okay ... I'll just say sorry and everything will be fine, my foot"
Roshni felt dejected and whimpered a
"I'm sorry Mom..."
"STOP with the Sorrys...Disgusting!!! Have you ever stopped to think about me...my Reputation.
All your life you have never made me Proud, and I don't know why I'm even surprised by this" DD taunted furiously
"And who's that sleezebag you married...I'm sure it's all his plan. He'll probably Blackmail me now, in order to keep his mouth shut"
Roshni looked up at her mom "Siddarth Khurana"
There was a deafening silence
"Kya..what did you just say .. Siddarth Khurana. The Business Tycoon ... Raj Khurana ka beta, that Siddarth? ?
Roshni confused by her mother's sudden interest
replied
"Yes"
"OMG! OMG! I don't believe this you married Siddarth Khurana. ..Unbelievable. Like Seriously you Married Siddarth Khurana? ?? "
Roshni tears continued as she nodded a yes
Finally! Finally! my daughter did something that's actually made me Proud."
Shocked by her mother's reaction "Proud Mom"
"Obviously I'm sure even I wouldn't have been able to find a better match for you. Just imagine when the press find out that DD Patel daughter has Married into the Khuranas. ..My God that'll be brilliant publicity for DD JEWELLERS. "
"But Mom. It's the same Siddarth Khurana, remember i told you about him when i was little .. The one that used to tease me...:
"Oh for Heavens sake, stop with that nonsense, and get over that hangover already. He was just a kid..." DD snapped
" But .I ..I don't love him in fact I hate him...I hate him for all that he did when we were children ..I.I.I..."
Roshni cried trying to find some scrap of sympathy from her mothers eyes
"Roshni what's love got to do with it..and stop this Melodrama. ." After a slight pause
"Look Roshni whatever problem you had or have with Siddarth just sort them out...I don't won't you ruining this great opportunity for me"
"Opportunity mom" Roshni devastated
"Is that all this is for you, an opportunity for your Business.."
"Ufff here we go again ... look I'm warning you Roshni you will not ruin this for me.."
Just then DD received a Call
"Yes speaking...yes...yes.. I know I heard...yes..of course no problem. ..will see you this evening at 7..okay bye"
DD turned around to Roshni.
"That was Mrs Khurana and she wants to meet us and discuss this Situation. The Khuranas will be here at 7 ...so please Roshni just sort yourself out till then. And please don't disappoint me"
Roshni stood rooted to her spot. All she ever wanted was to make her Mom proud, but this..
Evening Time
Standing outside the Patel Penthouse, Sid kept fidgeting with his tie.
"I'm looking okay nah Mom Dad???"
"Relax Sid Relax...and yes you are looking very Handsome...After all you have gone after me" smiled Simmi
"Woh sab maan toh jayenge nah..I mean they'll like me nah" said Sid tensed
"What's there not to like Sid Puttar. ..and stop worrying... Now are we going to stand here all night or shall we knock the door" Raj laughed
Sid took a deep breath and prayed to God that everything goes well.
The door was opened by DD who had a bright smile as she welcomed them into her home.
The introduction's were done. Sid touched the elders feet and took their blessings. He noticed Nani a little upset
"Hey Nani...is it okay if I call you Nani.."
Nani bewildered by his friendliness nodded a yes
"Don't worry I know your worried for Roshni, but mein hoon nah. I will treasure her always. Her happiness is my happiness her sorrow is my sorrow. She is now my responsibility and i will always keep her save I promise" he winked at Nani to cheer her up
Nani instantly fell in love with him
"After meeting you all my tensions chuu hogaye"
Sid sat down on the sofa but his eyes were searching only for her.
"Kahan Ho tum Roshni...ab toh chehra dika doh. its been 3 days since I last saw you. Aur mut tarpao" he thought as he looked here and there
Simmi looked at DD and began
"Look DD jee I know that humare bachon se bohut bari galti hogaye. . I mean Naashe ki haalat mein shaadi...but instead of cursing them we should willingly accept that they are both now married.
In fact we should consider his as God's will.
We have come here to ask your permission to accept this reliance and allow us to officially ask for Roshni hand in marriage "
There was silence. Sids heart began to beat rapidly. He crossed his fingers, closed his eyes and waited for the answer.
"Of course Mrs Khurana you are right. I admit I was furious at first..But like you said shaadi ka
bandhan is very sacred and who are we to intervene in God's work...so yes I accept your
proposal"
Sid face lit up as he stood up like a boy who had just received a new toy and yelled
"Saachi you accept"
He suddenly realised what he had just done and looked down embarrassed. ..After a moment of silence everyone burst out laughing. Sid tapped his head at laughed at his own behaviour
"Where is Roshni...Humari Bahu kahan hai. ." Inquired Simmi
"She's in her room getting ready" replied DD
"Sid beta why don't you go and get her. After all she is your wife" smiled Nani winking at him
Siddarth smiled back, and couldn't believe that everything was going so smoothly. He blushed a little as he was directed to Roshni room
ROSHNI ROOM
Roshni was standing besides the mirror. Her head down in her thoughts, trying to tie her Dori
Sid entered and just stood there looking at her passionately. His eyes had hungered for this moment. Slowly he made his way towards her and gently brushed his hand against her back
"Need any help Mrs Khurana"
Roshni turned around in shock, but before she could scream, he put his hand on her mouth and pinned her to the wall.
Roshni eyes closed in fear.
"Ssshhh what will everyone think.." winked Sid
"Roshni opened her eyelids slowly and looked into his dark brown eyes.
"Uhh Uhh Uhhh" Roshni tried to speak but was unable to as Sids hand was still on her mouth
"Uhhh Uhhh Uhhh what sort of language is that" laughed Sid
Suddenly he realised and gradually removed his hand.
"Your looking so Beautiful and so so Hot Mrs Khurana"
Leave me"
"Leave you...soch bhi nah...your stuck with me Baby" Sid said huskily and continued
"You know how much I've missed you..or better still shall I show you how much I've missed you Baby" he said as he moved even closer
"What are you doing here??" Roshni voice trembled as he touched her
"Hmm What am I doing here...well .. I'm standing really really close to you. .."
He closed the gap even more between them and rested his one hand on her hip as he whispered
"And eh touching the bare skin on your waist. .."
Her breathing became hitched, and his touch gave her goosebumps
He held her trembling body close. They were chest to chest and he could feel the frantic beating of her heart against his.
He tipped her chin up with his index finger
"Did you miss me too Baby??"
She tried to pull away, but he held her tight. Keeping her against him
He was intoxicated by her scent of her sweet body.
His hand moved towards a few strands of hair that fell on her face and tucked them behind her ear so that he could see her face.
"S. . S...Siddarth..."
Roshni was finding to difficult to speak
'Hmmm" Sid said under his breath
Her lips were a breath away. He lowered his lips to hers as he looked into her eyes...but stopped
He was enjoying teasing her.
He gently moved his other free hand across her cheeks feeling her soft skin and then touched her lips. His finger lingered on her lips for a while...and then
"Ouch" he screamed as Roshni bit him
She tried to get out of his grasp but he just pulled her back.
"You shouldn't have done that Mrs Khurana. saaza toh ab milegi. ..my Jungli Billi" Sid whispered as he brushed his nose against hers.
He leaned in ready to claim her lips. He could not resist anymore. She was driving him insane. He needed her. He wanted to kiss her there and then.. as if his life depended on it
His lips were just inches apart when Roshni pleaded
"Please don't" and a tear fell from her eyes
Suddenly Sid came back to his senses and realised what he has doing and stepped away.
He closed his eyes and waited for his heart beats to get back to normal before he said
"Your welcome"
Roshni puzzled looked up and said
"Eh. ..what?"
"While you were so lost in me.. I tied your Dori... and so your welcome" he smiled and winked at her.
"Anyway before you started to distracted me...I was sent here to let you know everyone is waiting for you...so shall we...Mrs Khurana"
"Stop calling me Mrs Khurana okay. ."
"But that's your name now remember..."
Roshni gave him an icy look
"Okay okay baba... then would you prefer Babe's. ...Jaanu ...Baby..."
Roshni just rolled her eyes...and started to walk
away
"Oye Oye Jaan leh gaye yeh ladki" Sid said and smiled
Roshni walked out of her room towards the sitting area. Her eyes were down. Her only thoughts were of the sudden turn her life had taken. She stopped and closed her eyes thinking
"I'm only doing this for you Mom. For once in my life you are proud of me...even though for me marrying Siddarth is nothing less than a nightmare. He will make my life Hell, I know. ..but for you Mom I'm ready to sacrifice my happiness"
She slightly opened her eyes to meet the family, that she had unintentionally became a part off
"She's so beautiful. ..Nazar nah lage meri bahu Ko. ..Sid where did you find this jewel" Simmi said as she stared in awe
Roshni raised her eyes and looked at Simmi.
After a moment a smile appeared on Roshni lips
"Ma...Ma aap teek hogaye" and ran and hugged her.
Simmi was taken aback as was everyone
else in the room
Simmi left the hug and looked at her...and after a while
"Roshni ... beta tum"
Flashback
DD was the chief guest for the
Ribbon Cutting of a new Wing at "St David's Hospital" and was very busy chatting with the press totally ignorant of the fact that Roshni was also there. Roshni tried to get her Mom's attention a few times but as usual was totally ignored. She just sat and watched as her mother happily posed for photographs.
Roshni became bored playing alone in the corner with her doll and began to wonder the corridors of the hospital . As she walked she overheard the conversation of a doctor telling the hospital interns about a patient they were standing around.
"This woman has been in coma for the last 6 years. We have tried every possible medication available in the market, but unfortunately nothing has worked so far. Recently we have changed her medication
and hopefully this new course will have some affect on her and she awakens from her long sleep."
Roshni entered the room after the Doctor left.
She looked at the patient and smiled.
"Your so beautiful. Like an Angel" Roshni said as she caressed her hand.
"Is it okay if I stay"
She sat down beside her and talked her heart out. Told her about her life her mom the boy that teased her in school, her likes her dislikes ... everything.
She felt a connection with this woman even though she didn't know her. She hadn't realised the time when she heard her driver uncle calling her name...as she got up she told the woman
"I'll come back tomorrow paaka promise...:
and as she was about to leave she kissed her on the cheeks and said
"Ma can I call you Ma. ..."
For the next 2 months Roshni would visit her whenever she had the chance. She felt close to her..And loved her meetings with her.
Roshni was unaware of the fact that Simmi could hear her every word
The words were like medicine for
Simmi. She sensed Roshni pain...having a mother but never being loved.
This gave her the will to get better for her own son
It made her realise how much her own son must be missing her love, her presence.
How much he needed a mothers love.
But then suddenly Roshni stopped coming. ..
Back to Present
"Roshni ... Roshni" tears welled up in Simmi eyes..
"Apne peechan liya mujhe. ..but how? Roshni asked
"How can a mother not recognise her child..you were my cure. Even though my eyes never saw you, mere dil ne tumhe pechan liya beta"
"I still cant believe it ...my little Angel..my Roshni...Ab meri beti saach meri beti ban jae gi"
Simmi was overwhelmed with happiness
She hugged her tight and
kissed her over and over again
Roshni loved this feeling. It was the first time she felt what a mothers love was like
Everyone around them especially Sid stood confused
"Ahhh you know each other...how? :
"It's a long Story Sid will tell you some other time, but first we need to discuss the Wedding dates right"
"Yeah and Make it as soon as possible!!!!" Sid looked at Roshni and smiled.
He was so happy. Finally his Dream was coming true and he just couldn't take his eyes of Roshni
Roshni too was happy as she couldn't take her eyes of her
"Ma"
Finally she understood and felt what a mothers love meant
