An Awkward Tea Party

The afternoon sun cast a golden gleam over the room as two strangers sat together in silence. The only sound to be heard was the ticking of the clock. The door clicked open and a servant dressed in white came bearing a tray. Setting it down on the table, the man retreated without speaking a word. The man reached his hand forward and picked up the tea pot with practised ease. Pouring a cup of tea, he turned towards the woman who was now looking out of the window with detached curiosity.

"Do you take sugar ?"

She nodded her head in negative without bothering to turn her face towards him. Shrugging his broad shoulders, he set the cup down on the table and then proceeded to pour himself a cup of tea. He watched her closely as she continued to sit rigid and face turned away. Her discomfort seemed to please him as he smirked to himself as he finished the tea and set his cup down.

Then finally leaning back on the couch, he said calmly, "Why does your family think we are engaged, Ms. Priyanka Singh Oberoi?"

The woman twitched in nervousness as her hands tightened into fists on her lap.

Calmly, Ranveer reached for her cup of tea and held it forward.

"What game are you playing, Ms. Oberoi?"

What a delight it's been to read all these shots!

Innika: That was such a touching little piece. I love angst and your shot brought it out beautifully with just a tinge of comedy. Isn't Shinde a very caring officer in the ACP's team? Though what the poor guy had to almost face! 😆

Anu: That was a lovely insight into Randhawa's life through the many birthdays. The man has gone from happiness to sadness to happiness again - quite the way life often is. And Nav, was I glad to see the notorious boy here! 😆 Making Mamu's house a mess. That ending scene of PriVeer having chai together was very heartwarming and lovely!

Twerps: That little drabble threw me off with Randhawa's question about why do the Oberoi's think that PriVeer are engaged. And who knew that the meek and timid Priyanka Singh Oberoi could play games? 😉
