Chapter 13 - Khushi in New Avatar!!

Arnav reached Paris. He did not want to call her as he feared she might try to avoid him. Payal had already given her address and contact numbers.

So he decided to drop by a little late at around 8.00 pm.

"Hello there, who are you looking for?" Ananya opened the door.

"I am here to meet Khushi Gupta" Arnav replied politely.

"Khushi, some guy is here to meet you" Ananya shouted while opening the door.

"Anu, who can come to meet me here? I don't know anyone here. Anyways ask him to come in, this is my last move. Amit is so going to lose today" Khushi screamed back.

"Hold on a minute, I have seen you before. Oh my god, you are the great Arnav Singh Raizada, right? How do you know Khushi? Oh, yes, yes. You are her sister's brother in law right? Ananya was blabbering to herself now in excitement.

"Is that what she told you about me? I am her sister's brother in law?" Arnav was angry as soon as he stepped in. Is that how he only related to her, he was mad at that thought?

He entered in and shocked to see Khushi. She was wearing a spaghetti top and shorts with her hair tied in a loose pony. She looked sooo ****y, yet cute and adorable... He was always mesmerized by her no matter what she wore... But then the thought of she enjoying and having fun and this dumb Amit gets to see her long legs and gets to spend time with her irked him even more... Not that Ananya was wearing very different clothes but Arnav's possessive instincts were getting rubbed...

"Yes, checkmate" She screamed and "Amit, you are treating for a coffee tomorrow" she jumped with a winning smile and did hi-fi to Ananya...

But she calmed down as soon as she saw Arnav standing in their living room staring at her. She was not only surprised to see him there but kind of confused why jiji or Di did not inform her about his visit. May be he might have decided suddenly due to business visit, she thought.

"Hi Khushi" Arnav was polite trying to hide his anger.

"Hello Arnavji, how are you and how come you are here?" Khushi could not hide her curiosity.

"I think you did not like my surprise visit. I was here for business meeting and your jiji sent you some stuff" He handed Khushi a bag.

"Who will not be happy to see the great Arnav Singh Raizada? You have to have dinner with us, what say Khushi?" Ananya announced.

"Yeah, Sure. By the way this is Ananya and Amit, my colleagues plus new friends and we share this apartment. And this is Arnav Singh Raizada, my jiji's brother in law" Khushi introduced them.

"And the owner of AR Designs, the youngest business tycoon, most handsome hunk, the most eligible bachelor, three years in a row winner of "Youngest Entrepreneur" award..." Ananya continued his introduction with super excitement and showing off what a big fan she was of ASR...

Khushi looked at Ananya. She never knew Ananya was such a big fan of Arnavji. She felt jealous.

"It's ok Ananya, you can call me ASR" Arnav shook his hand with Ananya.

"Hello ASR, its pleasure to meet you personally. I am also one of your biggest fans" Amit shook his hand.

Khushi went to kitchen and started preparing dinner. Made him his coffee.

"Ananya, don't put sugar or milk. He takes black coffee" Khushi informed.

Arnav smiled realizing she remembers. Of course, she would!! He thoroughly enjoyed the coffee made by Khushi after such a long time.

Khushi was awkward with her dress and wanted to change but it might get even more awkward she thought. So after preparing dinner, she used excuse and went and changed into a simple knee length sleeve less dress.

"Wow Khushi, you always manage to look gorgeous in any attire. Come let's have dinner. Let me serve you all." Amit complemented Khushi.

Ananya and Amit were told about Khushi's story by Payal and Anjali but Khushi did not know this and they both planned to be part of their love story and do their part!!

Arnav choked on his food. His eyes were red. Khushi ran to him, pat his back and offered him water! Arnav was mad seeing Amit so close to Khushi, take care of her all the time and Khushi allowing it. He hated it when Khushi was smiling at Amit's compliments rather cheesy compliments, he thought. Arnav simply wished he could choke Amit to death!

Arnav was not getting any chance to talk to Khushi with Ananya and Amit hovering over them. Arnav did some quick thinking after dinner to somehow get some privacy with Khushi...

"Let's walk up to my car, Khushi" Arnav suddenly requested. Ananya winked at Khushi and pushed her out. Khushi had no choice but to go with Arnav.

Chapter 13 Continued -

"The elevator is going up" Khushi realized and pointed it to Arnav.

"It's ok, Khushi" Arnav was calm yet determined. Not a good sign, Khushi thought. She could see he pressed last floor and terrace which is usually empty. She had no chance to run away and climb down those many stairs she thought.

"What is going on Khushi?" Arnav could barely control his anger now and nailed her to the wall as usual. He made sure not to hurt her physically but his anger was rising every second.

"What happened now?" She was confused.

"What happened? You leave India in spite of me requesting you not to leave again and again, you come here as if nothing happened, you are roaming around Paris taking pictures and that dumb Amit, is he your buddy or boyfriend in a week? And you ask me what happened? And what were you wearing Khushi?" Arnav hurled whatever he had in his mind. He was mad.

He had not slept properly even one night after she had left India and here she was enjoying her life as if nothing had happened... Arnav was no longer thinking rational...

"What do you mean? You had problems with me and everything I do, back then and you have problems now also that too when I am far away from you? And you are complaining as if you own me, what I do is none of your business anymore" Khushi was also getting angry by his snobbish behavior.

"Don't talk to me like that Khushi, I am warning you" Arnav barked.

"It's always about you right? Why are you even here?" Khushi asked in no nonsense tone.

"Khushi, don't you get it?" Arnav tried to calm down.

"No, I don't. Can you please care to explain?" She asked him straight raising her voice.

Arnav knew right then that he started today also on a wrong foot. If he wanted to talk to her, apologize and express his feelings, he better not be arrogant. And he was never good expressing himself. But he had to do it now or never.

"Why are you so close to Amit? And why are you suddenly so bold?" Arnav asked.

"Oh my god, let me get this straight. Why are you acting like big daddy or a possessive boyfriend who is so concerned about my clothes or with who I mingle...? Jealous, are we?" Khushi was trying hard to understand what was going on his mind. She was surprise to see his mind was stuck on Amit rather than everything else important.

"Yes, I am... I am jealous like hell..." Arnav simply confessed.

"Look Khushi, after you left India, I could not sleep even a night thinking about you. Missed you so much, I was miserable. Did not go to AR for whole week. Can you imagine me and not doing work? I was depressed and here you are, already moved on and enjoying life!" Arnav slowly started opening up.

Khushi was shocked to hear him. He was missing her so bad but why now?

"But why? It's not like we met every day or we were in a relationship. In fact we have only met twice after jiji's marriage that too because of video incident. So why now?" Khushi wanted him to confide in her what is going on in his mind... He has been confusing her forever with his mixed signals and contrast behavior...

"That was different Khushi, you were still in India. I was closely monitoring you. Throwing Shyam behind the bars was my highest priority so you and Di both can be safe. I wanted to meet you that morning but then the video incident happened" Arnav explained.

Khushi waited for him to continue.

"Look Khushi, I am really sorry from the bottom of my heart for my behavior in the past" Arnav again apologized.

"I don't get it, Arnavji. We already discussed this and I already told you, I forgive you" Now Khushi was not really sure where this all was going.

"If you have forgiven me, then why did you leave India and come here?" Arnav was really upset that she had to leave everyone because of him.

"Because I did not want my family to relocate again like we had to do it before, when video was leaked in Lucknow. It has nothing to do with you this time... You did your part by doing an interview in front of my house..." Khushi explained.

"What?" Arnav was curious.

"Arnavji, when first time you leaked that video, my parents had to answer whole Lucknow, it was very humiliating experience for them. People would stop us and ask any vile questions and it was beyond our tolerance level. I was scared it would happen again and my family will have to relocate again. And I did not want to stop Bauji's treatment, when he is responding so well to the current treatment in Delhi" Khushi really did not want open old wounds be she had no choice.

"I am so sorry Khushi. You cannot forgive me so easily. Give me any punishment. I deserve anything but your forgiveness..." Arnav begged her.

"Arnavji, it's better to forget and forgive. It will help both of us to move on in life" Khushi urged him.

"It's so easy for you to forget everything happened? Is it so easy for you to forget me and move on?" Arnav was surprised.

"Arnavji" Khushi did not know how to answer his question.

"How is everyone in RM and Gupta House?" Khushi changed topic.

"Khushi, answer me" Arnav demanded.

"But why? How does it matter now Arnavji? Shyam is gone. I am safe and so is your Di. My jiji is happily married with Akashji. And it's not like we were in a relationship. I hardly worked for you and now you are my jiji's brother in law and I respect you with that relation. So all good, isn't it?" Khushi calmly tried to handle the situation.

"So is that all I am to you? Your sister's brother in law?" Arnav was turning into his usual ASR mode.

Khushi could not look into his eye. She stood there silently.

"So is that all I am to you Khushi?" Arnav screamed with anger. He just could not digest that she completely denied his existence in her life. Her sister's brother in law, my foot... He shook her shoulders and forced her to look into his eyes. Tears started rolling down from her eyes. He was hurting her again just like before..

"Why it bothers you so much?" She too was angry by his arrogant behavior and pushed him back trying to release herself...

"It bothers me Khushi. It hurts me a lot. Hurts like hell... Because I love you damn it. I have always loved you but I was arrogant enough to deny it back then... And it took me so much time to realize but I really love you so much..." There he goes. At last he confessed. He turned around and was about to walk out of the terrace.

"No, you don't" She held his hand and shouted back...
