And then the door knob turned and Arnav came out. From his face khushi could make out that his back was still hurting but he was attempting to hide his pain.
Without saying anything she again put his arm around her shoulders and assisted him back to the bed.
" now slowly lower yourself. Don't slump on the bed."
He thought of doing the same but ended up doing the opposite. He sat down with a jerk and almost pulled Khushi on top of him. Khushi tried to steady herself and not fall on him. While doing so, his lips brushed near the corner of her mouth and she instantly inhaled sharply.
" sorry." Arnav whispered close to her lips. She held her breath and carefully removed his arm from her shoulders. Then stepped back.
" I'll get you a hot water bag." She said after finding her voice that she had suddenly lost. Then without waiting rushed out of the room. She needed a minute or two settle her heart that was racing rapidly inside her chest. And her face that was burning with his soft touch, desired to cool down.
Resting her head on the recliner, Khushi watched him sleep. The hot water bag was still on his back, warming it. Hopefully the pills and hot water fermentation would reduce his pain and help him sleep better.
Her eyes continued to gaze at him and her one hand still clutched her chest as her heart refused to slow down. She was still taking quick intakes of air as her other hand felt the corner of her mouth, his lips had touched.
Gosh, what was with him that his one word, one gaze and one touch, would make her lose her senses? Why did his presence, his closeness, create a storm inside her? And was all this one sided...perhaps not.
