Devanshi comes face-to-face with Kusum Sundari when she rushes to the temple to fetch lotus flowers to cure an asthmatic attack that Sarla gets.

Devanshi happens to catch a glimpse of a man wearing bangles who attempts to steal Ishwar's chain. She tells the family who then chases the man.

Devanshi is finally rendered innocent after being accused of stealing Ishwar's chain. She walks out as a free human being, but Sarla has something else planned for her.
