Droplets of rain fell against the window. Geet sighed. She really hated the rain, she also hated the man that she was in the truck with who would not stop criticising her.
''Why don't you ever bring good results like the rest of your classmates? All you want to do is create trouble and talk back to teachers. I thought I taught you better then this, but in reality I have not.'' Mohinder screamed at Geet whilst slapping her head.
Mohinder angrily drove in the rain, he was tired of this burden of his shoulder in the name of Geet. He was sick of her blaming him continuously for her mother's death. He wasn't the one who caused it, so what if he slept with another women whilst his so called wife had cancer. This wasn't his problem, but he didn't deserve to be called a murderer by Geet.
''You're not my father'' Geet quietly said.
''What did you say? I dare you to say that again. This time it won't only be my hand which will beat you this time.''
''You're a bas***d and you don't deserve to be called my father, you murdered my mother ten years ago and I will never forget this.'' Geet screamed.
That was enough. Mohinder went red, he knew even if he beat her she would not care at all. He would have to take more stricter action.
After hours they finally reached Delhi, Mohinder grinned as he finally reached the destination where he could get rid of his burden. The care-house. As he violently pushed Geet out of the truck onto the rough floor he could finally see tears coming out of Geet's eyes. That b!tch has finally grown a heart he thought.
''There's a nice grandmother who funds this care-house for rebels like you, it's the end for you and me. Don't bother finding me because I'm happy with my new family. My wife and child will be happier without you'' Mohinder said with a beam as he vigorously threw money over Geet and quickly drove away.
''I was wondering..wondering when you would leave me. Looks like today is the day you abandon me.'' Geet tearfully said as she watched her father's car go into the distance.
After crying on the hard concrete for a few minutes, Geet finally stood up and got ready to accept her new home. She didn't have anything else for support except for a few rupees her father threw at her. At a tender age of 18 she didn't have anyone else to lean on. But herself.
Geet started to knock on the door hopelessly, she started to think would these people beat her like her stepmother and father did? Would she need to put a wall around her?
''Hello dear, what is beautiful girl like yourself doing here?'' The lady asked Geet kindly.
''Well...erm...my dad kind of dropped me here...'' Geet slowly answered the kind lady.
''Come inside then, oh yes, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Savitri Devi and I am the owner of this care-house and I also fund it. I don't know why you are here but you can trust me.''
Geet stared at the lady, why was she being so kind to her. Or maybe she was just showing pity. She didn't need anyone's pity.
''What's your name dear?''
''My name is Geet Han...Just Geet.'' She sadly answered.
''Okay Geet, tell me all about yourself in my office please. I always like to know about the people living here and their background.'' Savitri Devi gleefuly said.
After dragging Geet to her office, Savitri Devi asked Geet more about her life but Geet was not willing to spill her life story to some stranger she meet a few moments.
I'm going to end everything tonight anyway, Geet sorrowfully thought. She was going to end her life once and for all. She would finally be able to meet her mum the only person that she cared about.
''Well, can I go to my room now? I'm really sleepy if you don't mind.'' Geet asked the lady.
''If that's what you want to do then sure, it on the first floor. Room 21.'' Savitri Devi answered.
After reaching the room, Geet quickly searched for something she could end her life with. But there was nothing in the room except for a bed, toilet, window and a wardrobe. Perhaps they knew that kids that were sent here would try to kill themselves?
Finally Geet thought of what she would do after pondering for ages. She could check the toilet for some sort bleach or rat killing poison.
When she stepped in the toilet, she could finally have a sigh of relief as she saw the rat killing poison. Geet was undoubtedly scared, but she had to do this. She had nothing else to live for.
As she placed the poison near her lips, she heard a loud scream.
'How can you do this? How can you give up your life so easily. I know that I don't know you well enough to say this but you're precious. I know your father has abandoned you but beta, this is not the way to go.'' Savitri Devi angrily said to Geet as she threw the poison bottle on the floor.
'Precious? Geet laughed. 'How can someone like me be precious? Those closest to me left me. How would a stranger know my nature.' Geet asked Savitri Devi.
'You are precious. If you weren't then why would your father leave all your files here and ask me to get you a good job. Before you asked me to excuse you. I was going to offer you a job of someone's personal secretary. Please just give it 6 months, if you hate it then I won't stop you in whatever you do. This is Savitri Devi's promise.''
Geet was shocked? A personal secretary? The old lady did say only for 6 months then she was free to do whatever she wanted.
'Fine, I'll do it but after 6 months..I want freedom.''
Both the ladies shook hands on this, Geet smirked as she knew that she would hate it. But destiny had something else in mind.
'You'll have to work for my grandson, Maan Singh Khurana.'' Savitri Devi told Geet before she had the chance to ask questions. She knew her grandson was a tough nut to crack but she knew she could handle this by placing another tough nut with him. Two wrongs sometimes make a right she thought.
Precap: Maan screams at Geet for not providing his 9am coffee, but Geet gives her tit for tat😆
