Part 10

Rey was sitting in his cabin, holding a file in his hand but his mind was somewhere else. He wasn't able to understand what had happened suddenly to his parents who want him to get married because before that they didn't force him for anything. Yeah! Of course he want to get married but not with whom his parents have chosen but with the girl for whom his heart beats... TAANI.

The only thought of her brought a smile on his lips and happiness in his heart. She is the girl, every guy would die for and he know his parents also will like her but right now he can't just tell them about her and other side he doesn't want to upset his parents also. He was searching for ways to escape this situation that anyhow this 'meeting-the-girl-for-marriage' drama will end.

He brought back into reality when someone knocked on the door and then he heard door opening sound. It made him angry as he has instructed his PA to not to send anyone in as he doesn't want to meet anyone for some time.

"Why the hell are you here? What's your problem...Don't you understand I don't want to meet anyone.." he shouted without looking at the person.

"Woah... angry young man... what happened..?" the person exclaimed as he got startled with his reaction and hearing the familiar voice Rey looked at him and sighed.

"Swayam." Rey whispered as he looked the person was none other than his best friend. Swayam gave him a weird look and entered inside.

"What brought you here?" Rey asked directly as he wasn't in mood to talk much.

"Hello to you too, Rey." Swayam replied with sarcasm filled tone as he sat down on the chair in front of him. Rey narrowed his eyes and turning his head starts working on laptop or can say trying to show he's busy.

"Aaj temperature kafi high hai... hai na?" swayam asked looking here and there.

"Spill, why are you here and get lost." Rey snapped at him but instead of got shocked Swayam starts smiling more as annoyed rey' has always been a worth watching sight. It's not an everyday you can get to see him like this because Rey is always been a 'fun-loving' guy.

"Dude, are you in that time of month?" swayam asked in teasing tone as he was enjoying this so much.

"Look... I'm not in mood to hear your nonsense.. so, come to the point or else I'll throw your ass out of here." Rey said with seriousness in his voice that he mean it.

"Ooppsss... sorry..." swayam puts up his hands surrendering.

Rey shook his head on his melodramatic self and returned back to what he was doing before... trying to look busy, but he could feel Swayam's continuous gaze at him this made him irritated.

"What..??" Rey asked annoyed as he looked straight at him.

"That should be my question." Swayam replied back. Rey sighed and hide his face in his palms which were rested on table.

"Ab bolega... kya hua..?" swayam asked in usual tone.

"Mom-dad has chosen a girl for me..." Rey replied in low tone as he looked up.

"Girl... Why..?" swayam asked, innocently.

"For marriage, you stupid." Rey snapped at him frustrated.

"WOW... that's great... congratulations dude." Swayam spoke excitedly.

"Shaadi hui nahi hai abhi." Rey stated with sarcasm filled tone.

"So what..? hui nahi hai toh... ho jayegi." Swayam smiled at him sweetly and don't know why but it irritates Rey so much.

"Will you just shut up?" Rey shouted.

Seeing him so much angry Swayam sealed his lips for his dear life.

"They want me to accompany them to meet that girl." Rey said after some time when he calmed. Swayam raised his eyebrows at him when something clicked into his mind.

"To mil le... kya problem hai..." Swayam said casually.

"What..? Are you gone mad or what...?" Rey said loud voice.

"Isme mad hone wali kya baat hai aur waise bhi milne me kya problem hai...mil le... you are 25 dude and I think this is right time for all this..." swayam repeated Rey's words which he had said when Swayam was in same situation.

Rey glared at him knowing what he's trying to do.

"What...? Tune hi kaha tha... remember..?" swayam asked tried to look innocent.

"Teri aur meri situation me difference hai." Rey said.

"Kya difference hai..?" swayam asked as he raised his eyebrow at him.

"You didn't want to get married and I want to do but..." he didn't complete because he wasn't sure to tell him about Taani right now.

"But...?" swayam again asked curious.

"One sec... kahin aisa toh nahi tujhe girls mein nahi boys mein interest hai.. matlab uncle-aunty ko bahu nahi DAMAD milne wala hai.." swayam said with fake shocked expression and kept his hand on his mouth in horror.

"Looks like, someone doesn't love his life." Rey said with greeted teeth and about to launch at him to hit him but swayam apologized to stop this angry lion. Rey again sat on his chair.

"Kya problem hai..?" swayam asked in calmed tone.

"Nothing... I mean, I don't want to get married to any random girl... you know... I has always been waiting for a perfect girl... jise dekh ke lage ki she is the one with whom I want to spend my whole life... you know jise dekh ke wo love wali ghanti baje" Rey said with dreamy smile thinking that he has already met with that perfect girl and his 'love-wali-ghanti' has already rang.

"So... baji ghanti..?" swayam asked curiously, raising his one eyebrow at him, which brought Rey back to the earth.

"Umm... na... nahi..." rey lied to him but he was feeling guilty for hiding this from Swayam, who was not only his best friend but a brother also.

"Okhay... you know what... fir toh tujhe iss ladki se jarur milna chahiye... kya pata isse dekh ke teri wo so called ghanti' baj jaye." Swayam suggested.

"I'm not going to meet her." Rey said in final tone.

"Then..?" swayam asked what would he do now.

"Don't know." Rey shrugged as he also don't know what he will do.

Then they talk for some time and discuss about some meeting for which Swayam has came to meet him and then he left.

Rey made himself busy in his work when his phone ringed and looking at the caller's name he sighed frustrated.

"I know, mom, I'll come home early and go with you both to that girl's house for this marriage drama, now please don't disturb me again n again for reminding this." He said in annoyed tone as he picked the call because this was the 20^th time his mother has called him to remind him he has to come home early today.

"I just called, in case you forgot this in your work." Came a reply from other side.

"How can I forget this, when you're here to remind me?" He replied sarcastically.

"Ok..ok... don't get hyper. Bye." His mother said and cut the call sensing her son's anger.

He was about to put a phone back when suddenly something struck him.

"Ohhh... freak..."

He opened it and dialed her number but to his dismay it went unanswered. He frowned but then again dialed it but again it didn't get answered. He thought maybe she is in lecture that's why didn't answering so drop a message to her.

"Hey, there is a change in plan. I've a meeting in evening so we cannot meet today. I'm really sorry. I hope you understand."

'I'm sorry, Taani, I'm really sorry.' He thought as he was feeling really guilty to hide this from her but he was helpless.

He kept the phone back on table and leaned his head back at chair and closed his eyes. But after some moments he snapped open them as his phone beeps indicating a received message.

He grabbed it and opened the message after seeing it was from her.

"It's alright, Reyaansh. I can understand."

He read her reply and felt disappointed with himself. Only he knew how pathetic he was feeling right now that one side he said her he loves her and other side he is betraying her by going for this marriage alliance but for one thing he was sure he won't get married to any other than her and for that he has to do something real quick.

Rey was sitting in living room of that girl's house with his parents and the father of girl. All were talking with each other except him as he wasn't interested in their talks. He wished that anyhow he just disappeared from here. With each passing second his heart was sinking, making him restless.

Suddenly a fear gripped his heart.. What if she get to know about this and leave him.. forever?... NO... he just can't lose her. He can't afford to lose her.

He came back on earth when his mother asked to call the girl so we can meet her. And the girl's father told one of the maids to call her. This made him alarmed that he has so less time to think for a way to stop this.

Do something, Rey.

Think for the way.

Think Rey think.

He was chanting to encourage himself and then an idea popped up in his mind and he decided that he has to do this. Yes... he will do this only.

He was lost in his thoughts that he didn't realized when the girl came and sat on the couch opposite to him. His mother kept a hand on his hands which were joined together, resting on his legs. He looked at his mother who signaled him to look in front of him.

He closed his eyes for some seconds and then opening them he turned his head to the girl. His eyes went wide with shock, horror or anything when he saw the girl in front of him, smiling at him. The only words came out of his mouth...

"WHAT THE..."
