I wish Rani's intelligence was stronger than her pride! Then she would keep answering these "taking a scholarship is like taking alms from the rich" taunts with the answer she's already given at least once, "the rich got rich on the backs of the poor, so the least they could do is make reparations through scholarships." I don't think it makes sense for her to try to prove herself by meeting the challenge of paying her tuition fees herself - she needs the scholarship because of her poverty, and her poverty is not due to any choices or bad decisions she personally made. This shouldn't sting her pride - logic can save her from herself if she would only let it! I understand why they're building a story around this kind of class conflict, it makes sense since Raja acquired this prejudice against poor people in general and Rani specifically. But it's still frustrating to watch Rani get baited into poor decisions and inconsistent behaviour to serve the story.


And of course...it's only going to get worse over time, not better 😳
