CHAPTER 30

Note... all green part is of dairy

"She didn't tell you anything else about this night" i asked

"Mmm... yup.. she told me that i should not restrict you from touching me.. and that you have full right on my mind, body & soul" she smiled at me.

I really cant believe someone can be so innocent. Does she even know what she just said to her husband.

Now i wanted to tease her a bit "how will you sleep with all these heavy Jewellery"

She pouted "even i was thinking this.. that why is everyone decking me up like i am going to a party"

Ya khuda.. she looked so cute when she pouted. Her lips.. so kissable.. it is attracting me like a butterfly towards flower.

"May i remove them" she asked.

I nodded in a yes. She was struggling to open her bangles.

I went towards her. She stood up seeing me approaching. I held her hand and opened the bangle. Her hands are so soft. It made me wonder why she was not able to open it herself.. I guess she had never done it herself.. of course she must be having maids at her service then why would she work.

She smiled at me "thank you shehensha"

I smiled back. Ya khuda.. i lost count how many times i smiled after coming in this tent.

I made her sit on bed & sat beside her. I helped her to get free from her rest of the jewellery.

"I will have to wear these many Jewellery every day??" She sounded so worried. Instantly my mind drew a comparison between her and my other begams. They just love to become showroom of jewellery with loads of ornaments & here she is worried on these tiny jewellery.

I chuckled & came to other side of bed & laid on it & signalled Jodha to lay down beside me & she did as told.

"Don't you like wearing them" i asked amused.

"Its not like that.. actually i like simple & light ones.. they are so heavy to carry.. i was feeling like they are pulling me down to collapse on the ground" she answered.

I giggled "come here" i opened my arms & she came into my hug. I caressed her cheeks. She looked down.

I asked amused "are you feeling shy"

"I don't know.. i have never been so close to a man before"

"Do you like it when i touch you" i asked when i felt that she was trembling under my arms.. But I was contented seeing her smile.. She was not scared or not feeling bad on my touch.

"I.. i" she was breathing heavily.

I kissed her forehead & she hugged me tightly. A smile came on my lips. I hugged her back & caressed her long silky hairs. Few minutes later i felt her relaxing & i realised that she was asleep. I too closed my eyes & drifted into my dreamland.

You know dairy, i had my best sleep yesterday. I felt that i didn't had any tensions. It felt so good.

When i woke up, i found Jodha sleeping cuddling on to me. I smiled again.. hehe. I didn't wanted to.. but i had to wake her up coz we need to reach Agra soon. I caressed her hair & called her. It took me 10 minutes to wake her up. The "one more minute" dialogue of hers was nowhere to stop.

After getting ready i went to have a look on the court matters. After sometime Jodha came to me.

"Yes Jodha begam" i enquired the reason of her visit.

"Shehensha... woh.. i.. mmm"

I dismissed the guards & asked "What happened Jodha"

"Can i take my kanha with me" she asked with pleading eyes.

I gave her a confused look.

She continued "i don't eat anything before i worship my kanha.. if you allow me.. may i take his idol with me"

Oh now i got what she was taking about "of course you can take it. No one will force you to change your religion Jodha"

Her eyes beamed in happiness "thank you so much shehensha" excitement was clearly visible in her voice. She ran from there after saying that.

After sometime I went to OUR khema & heard some whispers while entering. And when I was in I saw Jodha was near the curtains & was shocked & scared seeing me there. She was hiding something or someone behind the curtains.

"What happened Jodha" I asked.

"Nothing shehensha" she said in a fearful voice.

My blood boiled thinking the possibility of a man being there whom my begam was meeting behind my back.

I proceeded forward & the look on her face was raising my suspicion. I moved the curtain & there were some rabbits. I stood surprised.

"I.. I will send them back shehensha... Please don't kill them. I.. I" she was shaking in fear. Oh so she was hiding these little animals but why is scared.

"Who said that I will kill them" I asked amused.

"Your guards told that you like hunting" she said in a low tone.

I smirked "yes... I like hunting, but not these pet animals. I like hunting wild & dangerous ones"

She smiled so widely. She is so cute.

I continued "If you want I will bring you many pets in Agra"

She literally jumped "really"

I chuckled "yes ofcourse"

"I can take them with me?" She asked

"I said you before also, you can have anything you wish" I smiled to her & she hugged me in joy.

We started our journey to Agra.

Jalal's phone buzzed bringing him out of the book. He closed the book & answered the call "hey abdul"

"Wassup bro.. you didn't came to office & not even informed me"

Jalal glanced at his watch "oops its 12 o clock.. i lost the track of time Abdul"

"What are you busy in"

"Reading a book.. wont come to office today yaar.. not feeling well"

"What?? What happened"

"Relax.. Nothing serious"

"Yeah.. as if i believed"

"Abdul..."

"Its ok buddy... i understand.. maybe i am not close enough to you so that you can share your pain with me"

"Abdul please.. you are the only one whom i trust.. whom i can rely upon.."

"Ok ok.. take rest.. i will come to meet you in the evening"

"Hmm.. ok bie" Jalal ended the call. He looked at Jodha's photo on his mobile.. The selfie which he clicked while kissing her cheeks.

"Even if you didn't love me.. i still love you Jodha. I just hope that you will always be happy with whomever you love. I know I had been too rude on you, but its a compulsion, even if i let go of you for your happiness, I can't see you with someone else. So its better for me to stay away from you. May god bless you with all the happiness in the world."

He closed his eyes in pain & opened the dairy to divert his mind.

Finally we reached Agra. I had sent the message of my marriage. I climbed off my horse & glanced around. Thousands were standing to welcome us. Mallika e azam, begam rukaiya, some important ministers were at the entrance & my other begams were peeping out from jharokas (windows).

Jodha came out of palki & came beside me. Her face was covered with veil.. as usual hehe. Everyone's eyes grew curious seeing her dress of rajput style. I smirked.

"Meet my new begam.. Begam Jodha.. princess of Amer" i spoke.

Shock was clearly visible on their faces.

Finally ruku spoke "rajwanshi"

I smirked "yes.. rajwanshi begam.. did you prepare her room rukaiya begam"

She nodded not knowing what to say. I wanted to laugh out loud.

After the welcome drama, some maids came forward & guided Jodha to her room. I had returned to Agra after a long time & so many things needed my attention. I got busy with the sultanat matters.

In the evening we completed the ritual of ismaic wedding of mine & my Jodha. MY Jodha.. It sounds so good.

After that a jashn followed. I was sitting on the throne with Jodha. Although her face was covered with veil, still the translucent material gave peek a boo of her enchanting smile. I was least interested in the programmes going on there. My full concentration was on my lady who was looking no less than a celestial nymph or better to say an apsara who was chanting me with her beauty effortlessly.

Finally night arrived. I was so tired & wanted a good sound sleep. But a smile came on my lips when I remembered that today it would be my first night with Jodha in Agra.

I made my way towards HER room. She was wearing ghagra choli without any jewellery or makeup. Still she looked so divine. But unlike yesterday, I found her a bit sad.

"What happened Jodha? Why are you sad"

"No shehensha.. It's nothing like that" she smiled.

"Did you like Agra"

"Yes shehensha.. It's a beautiful city. I loved it"

"Did you like my family"

"Yes" She said nothing more. And I know the problem. I just have to churn it out.

"How was your day" I asked.

"Good.. I strolled around in the palace. Fatima & Naira showed me around"

"Didn't you meet ammijaan"

"When I went to her chamber.. Her guard told me that she would meet me later. She was busy that time"

"And.. Whom did you meet"

"Rukaiya begam came here in the evening"

"No one else"

"Fatima & Naira"

"Your maids?"

"Yes.. They are very nice"

"You were allotted with only two maids??"

"Yes.. But it's enough for me. Moti came with me & she takes good care of me"

"Jodha..."

"Ji"

"What did Rukaiya told you"

She lowered her eyes & the same sadness & fear came back in her eyes. Wait.. What... fear?? Yes.. She feared something & that is related to Ruku.

I held her hand & pulled her closer. She rested her head on my chest.

"Jodha.. Please tell me"

"Woh.. Aaa"

"You said na that you will fulfill all my wishes. So this is what I want. Tell me Jodha.. What did she tell you?"

"She.. She said that you have many begams & concubines"

"And??"

"But bapusa told me that I will be your only wife"

"What??" I pulled her back. She was teary eyed. I felt a sting in my heart.

I continued "But your father knew about my marriages"

"Means.. It's true?"

"Yes" I don't know why but my eyes lowered.

"Had you known about my marriages, what would have been your decision on the marriage acceptance?" I asked.

"It would have been the same" she answered.

I sighed in relief.

"Then what's the matter Jodha"

She just stayed silent.

Then I remembered about Ruku "what else did Rukaiya begam said"

"She said that after spending some nights with me you will forget me like you forgot your other begams" she was almost crying while saying this.

"No Jodha.. I don't forget anyone. Rather opposite happens" I said

She looked at me confused. You won't understand Jodha.. They forget their husband.. And waits for their shehensha. None had ever loved me. Only my throne is loved by everyone. My own close relatives try to kill me for that. You won't understand Jodha. You won't. And I will never tell anyone about my feelings including you Jodha. I am very lonely in this crowd of selfish people.

"Nothing.. Leave it" I said

"You won't leave me na" she asked.

"Never ever" I said & hugged her. Probably she relaxed a bit.

"Do you fear Rukaiya begam?" I asked

"I fear to live without you... Death in your arms is better than life without you" she said meekly almost crying making my heart wince in pain.

"Please don't talk about death. We just have started our life.. We have a beautiful future ahead" I said taking her in my embrace.

She nodded & smiled to me. I slept hugging her. You know dairy she is so soft. My personal pillow.. hehe.

Next day i woke up in Jodha's embrace. She was hugging me protectively & I was hiding myself in her chest. It was something unusual for me. I had never slept in such a way... I never had anyone else's protection. Never ever I had relied upon others for my safety. I felt safe in her hug. But there are many things I felt for first time after Jodha's entry in my colourless life. I stared at her beautiful face. She looked so peaceful & contented. I slowly slipped out of bed without disturbing her sleep.

I was doing my sword practise when a melodious voice filled the air. It swiped me off the world. I followed the sound. Guards were looking at me as if am an alien. But not their fault. It was first time that I was leaving my sword practise in middle.

I reached the place my heart & ears wanted to go... To Jodha's chamber. I stepped in after opening my shoes. She was singing a devotional song. Her voice was like honey to my ears. Her hairs were wet & water dripping over her curves. She looked just wow. After her prayer she bowed her head in front of Kanha & stood up with that puja plate in her hand.

"Pranam Shehensha.. You here.. Come" she greated me happily.

"You have an amazing voice." I said

"Thank you shehensha.. Take arti" she said & forwarded the plate towards me. I didn't get what she was trying to do. I gave her a question mark look. She showed me how to take arti & I followed the process.

"Sindoor" she indicated. I took a pinch of it & filled her partition like I did during our wedding. She bent down & touched my feet. I had said her not to do this. She won't listen to me... So its better that I bend on her wishes. I blessed her & made her stand. She smiled at me.

"I'll come later Jodha. I have some important works now" I took her leave.
