"Thank you sir for visiting, please come back again with your girlfriend" the waiter said with a smile as he handed Bihaan the parcelled food packets.

"Girlfriend? Bhaiya, Mujhse ek patni samhal nehi jaati, yeh girlfriend kaha se tapak padi?"

The waiter uncomfortably shifted his eyes towards the pretty girl who was standing by the door of the shop looking at them with eyes as big as saucers. She was listening to them.

The waiter gulped; they can't be brother and sister. My eyes can never judge wrong. They are in love. "No Sir, I was referring to..." the waiter cleared his throat, the girl is his wife...Oops! Error in judgement...awkward...I get it now "...since Madam is not wearing any ...I meant...woh actually... " he continued painfully, " any signs to indicate her marital status... so I thought...well, I am really sorry Sir" he turned towards the girl, "Sorry, madam please do visit our shop with your husband again. I am sorry." He finished hastily embarrassed.

"Arey Bhaiya, sorry kyon bol rahe ho? Even I don't feel like I have a wife most of the time. Girls nowadays have become modern, they don't have that traditional values in them anymore" He eyed his wife who had turned red with corner of his eyes and continued," Girls don't wear vermilion these days because their hair will get damaged, refuse to wear mangalsutra because it doesn't go with their dress. Image is more important than a husband's lifespan. What to do Bhaiya? It is called modernization. Tarakki" Bihaan finished casually and looked at Thapki who seemed to burst into flames any second.

She stomped outside with a huff and Bihaan couldn't hide his smile anymore. He loved to irritate his chuk chuk gadi so much! He followed her out to his bike.

"What r-r-rubbish was that, R- Rampyaare?" Thapki muttered angrily the moment she could think coherently. She was so mad at Bihaan. She was going to kill him. She wouldl not go home with this brute. She refused to sit with him in his goddamn motorcycle behind him.

"Eh?" Bihaan missed inserting his key to ignition. Rampyaare? Has she finally lost it? "What are you talking about?"

"You kn-kn-know why I d-d-dont wear ma-ma-mangalsutra and si-si-sindoor." Anger was making her stammer twice as much. "How c-c an you insult m-m-e so, R-Rampyaare, infront of that m-m-man saying I don't value t-t-traditions or c-c-care how long you live?"

"Gajaab... Have I said anything wrong? Do you care I live or die? And anyways do you want me to tell that man our whole life story, why you really don't wear them?" Bihaan quirked his brow.

Thapki's eyes began to water as she stared at the beautiful monster, Does he really thinks I don't care whether he lives or die? "You are n-nothing but an unfeeling, in-in-insolent brute who..."

" Haan , Haan, I know I know, I am the worst person you have ever met...old story...will you please shut up now and care to sit so that we can go home? I am hungry."

Thapki hopped to sit behind him. "I hate you Rampyaare"

Bihaan started his motorcycle. "What's with this Rampyaare?"

"I ate more than one-third p-portion of what I ordered; hence you are R-R-Rampyaare from now on, on your own accord"

"You did not"

"Did too"

"Did not"

"Did too"

And so it continued...

When they entered Pandey Nivas they were still bickering.

Quite a few days had passed, Vasundhara finally mustered up the strength to leave her room. Physically she looked like her own old self but emotionally she was a mess. She couldn't bear to face anyone after what she had done. God! What have I done? I have ruined my saja huya sangsaar in my own two hands. She was leaning against the balustrade on the balcony and berating herself which was all she had been doing lately...

She saw the bickering couple enter the house. Bihaan looked exasperated and Thapki looked like she wanted to tear all of Bihaan's hair. I have not only ruined my Dhruv's life but also two others.

As she continued watching the bickering couple from the balcony an idea began to form in her mind. She just knew how to redeem herself in eyes of her family members and get back Dhruv's love. She could make everything right! She could get back everything just as it was. She would make everything all right she vowed.

She smiled.
