Bollywood: Singing to the tune

Songs are an indispensable part of the Hindi film industry. No wonder then that a number of our films in the last decade and a half are titled after some famous Bollywood numbers. Take a look…

Om Shanti Om (2007) – This Farah Khan flick is an 'official' tribute to Karz (1980) which featured the chartbusting number of the same name.
Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (1995) – The title of Aditya Chopra's blockbuster was inspired by the famous song in the Shashi Kapoor-Mumtaz starrer Chor Machaye Shor (1974).

Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (2006) – This is a classic Kishore Kumar song from the 1976 film Chalte Chalte which had Simi Garewal and Vishal Anand.

Laaga Chunari Mein Daag (2007) – A famous song from Raj Kapoor-Nutan starrer Dil Hi To Hai (1963).

Bol Radha Bol (1992) – The title of this David Dhawan film having Rishi Kapoor and Juhi Chawla in the lead is an all time classic song in Sangam (1964).
