Chapter 15 (a)
"Taani-"
She panicked, fear crept within her and tears brimmed in her eyes. Her mind went numb and all she hoped was, to send Rey. Again that familiar voice called out for her steps, making her jump on her place in fear. She recognized the voice, it was the person who was equally responsible for the pain she had gone through. She turned her head little, she gasped when she look at the person coming toward her.
It was payal, Vishesh's sister and the one who was with him, encouraging him when he was beating her, killed her child. She felt cold shiver ran down her spine when she saw him nearing her with a cold, empty smile playing on her lips.
"Because of you my brother committed suicide, don't think i'll leave you easily-" Payal sneered, she was seeing red. When she saw taani entering the mall few hours back, she was seeing red, she was seething in anger seeing her perfectly fine where as her brother lost his life because of her. She was following them, waiting for an opportunity to corner her in alone, so when she noticed Rey going away, she made her presence noticeable to taani.
"Payal-" She stuttered while the flashbacks of that fateful night were making her feel restless. Payal eyed her evilly. She moved close to her, she didn't gave her chance to react and attacked her, she strangled her neck, The people around watched in shock, some stepped forward to help, but payal was uncontrollable.
She was choking, tears filled in taani's eyes as she tried fighting off her, but due to weakness, she was failing miserably. Payal's sharp nails dig in her neck while her dead tight grip choked her. She was beginning to lose her consciousness, darkness was started to cover her vision when she felt someone had pulled payal away from her, but she was too weak to open her eyes and see her savior, but she already knew who it could be.
She let herself slip into the darkness, away from all the pain and suffering.
"What the f**k were you doing?" Rey pulled the unknown girl off her and slapped her hard, making her fall on the ground.
"Oh! So, lover boy came to rescue his princess-" Payal sneered, she get up from the ground, and next moment, security guards came there and took her in their hold, they had been informed about the whole incident from someone from the crowd.
"Sir, you take ma'am to hospital. We will hand over this woman to police-" A lady guard informed him, pointing at taani who was unconscious. Rey rushed to taani, worry took over his senses.
"This is not over." Rey whispered in deadly low tone to payal before he picked taani in his arms and rushed to the hospital, while on his way to hospital, he called the cops and explain everything to them. Soon, he reached hospital and she was admitted inside for the treatment.
Rey was waiting outside the hospital room, impatiently, when he received a call, it was from his lawyer.
"Hello, uncle. Did you found out who was that girl? And why she attacked taani?"
"Rey, She was vishesh's sister and she wanted revenge from taani. But you don't worry, she is arrested and I'll take care she doesn't get bail. Hows taani?"
"Doctors are treating her. I'm scared for her-" Rey mumbled brokenly.
"Don't worry, son. She is a strong girl, she will be fine very soon-"
"I'll call you later, uncle." Rey ended the call. He was waiting for dr. shilpa to come outside and inform him about her. He was praying to god to keep her safe.
