Chapter 2
Its been a month to his discharge from hospital and he was recovering quickly, and his wife was behind it. She had been taking care of him, taking care of his every need which he find very cute and lovable. Without his acknowledge, he was falling in love with her. But still he was confuse at how distant she is from him. She was so close to him yet so far. She takes care of him, make sure he is comfortable, in simple words she was a dutiful wife any guy would wish for, yet he could see some hidden pain in her eyes which always force him to question himself. Is she not happy with him? With this marriage?
"Rey, your coffee." He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard her voice, he looked up and found her standing there with his coffee mug. Rey took the coffee mug from her and placed it on side side table while mumbling a quick thank you. Taani gave a small smile to him and turned to leave when he grabbed her hand and pulled her toward him, due to which she lost her balance and fall over him. She clutched his shirt tightly in her fists.
Rey wrapped his arm around her protectively, a chill ran through her feeling his hands on her bare waits, his hot breath was tickling over her nape. Her heart rate started to pick up, she raised her head from his chest and look at him. He was gazing down at her with intensified gaze, making her shiver in delight.
"Are you alright?" He asked her softly, Taani nodded slightly, then tried getting off him but her hand slipped and she again fell over him, her lips touched his neck causing her eyes widen in surprise while he felt chill ran through him. His heart started to beat faster than usual, and a craving to hold her in his arms, crept up with in him. He tighten his hold around her waist and pulled her up, holding her securely in his arms.
Taani lifted her eye lashes and her mesmerizing hazel orbs met his intense gaze. He couldn't hold himself back, he leaned and pressed his lips against her forehead, softly. Taani closed her eyes tightly, tears brimmed in her eyes. She wanted to push him away, ran away from there before she again starts hoping for their broken relation to mend.
"Rey, we have doctor's appointment today. Aap ready ho jaaiye, then we will leave-" Taani said to him, controlling her ragged breathing. Rey nodded, taani got up and walked over the closet to take out his clothes while he sipped his coffee and admiring her at the same time.

Taani & Rey walked out of the doctor's cabin after his check up and taking his reports and discussing about progress in his health, as per doctor, he was recovering very fast and his wounds had healed properly but he is taking lots of stress which is not good for him.
"Rey, I forgot my purse in doctor's cabin, You move ahead, I'll be back in a moment." Taani said to him when she noticed she had forgot her clutch.
"Its okay, I'll wait for you, you go." Rey replied to her, taani nodded and went inside the doctor's cabin after knocking.
"I forgot my clutch." Taani mumbled, she smiled at doctor armaan who was there with doctor shilpa, who also happens to be to Rey's friend and the doctor who abort her child. Her eyes held unshed tears, she took her clutch from and turned to leave when shilpa called out for her.
"Taani, I know you hold him responsible for your abortion, but its not what it looks like. Once his memory is back, talk to him. Don't punish him & yourself for the mistake he hasn't committed." Dr. Shilpa said to taani, who was like her little sister but after that incident, taani has stopped talking to her and shilpa knew she hasn't forgiven rey yet, has distance herself from him.
"No explanation can justify what he did. I can never forget he killed our first child." Taani whispered painfully as a lone tear escaped her eye.
"But it was for your betterment only-" Shilpa said to her, armaan was silent spectator all the while.
"Really?Snatching my child from me, was for my betterment? How?" Taani questioned with fierceness and pain visible in her eyes.
"To save your life he had to take that decision. It was painful for him too, but he put you above everything else." Shilpa told her, the truth which she should have told earlier but couldn't because of her promise to Rey, but now she felt its important for taani to know, its important for Rey, for taani.
"To save my life?" Taani asked, nothing was making sense to her, all knew that he never wanted her or her child. He refused to accept her as his wife because she was forced upon him and the same case was with the child growing inside her. He never wanted it, he had made it clear on the same day she told him about her pregnancy.
"Yes. If you had continued your pregnancy then you would have lost your life. You are just 18, your body is weak to carry a baby, and there were many complications in your pregnancy. Terminating the pregnancy was the only option we had." Shilpa told her, taani was staring at her without blinking, tears were rolling her cheeks, not knowing what to say. A part her was happy that he cared about her, but the other one cursed herself for not being strong enough to save her baby. If only her body was strong enough to carry her child, then he wouldn't have take that step and she would have had her child with her.
"He is not as bad you think of him. Give him a chance." Armaan said to her, gaining her attention. Taani didn't knew what to say, though it was a relief to know that he didn't had bad intentions behind her abortion, but she can't forget what happened before that. She had spent a year with him, bearing his ignorance. Every moment had made her feel unwanted. Every time he used to look at her, made her realize that she is not needed here, she was forced upon him. He never wanted her. She was the girl he doesn't love nor ever will.
Taani closed her eyes tightly. In past one month, she was the perfect wife to him, taking care of his needs, but not once she sat with him and talk to him like a partner should, she had maintain a safe distance from him because she was scared of another heart break. It was not easy for her to forget the 1 year of her failed, loveless marriage and act as if nothing is wrong between them.
