Filmmaker Subhash Ghai says he despises the use of words like 'Bollywood', 'Tollywood' and 'Kollywood' for cinema in different languages in India.

The veteran director thinks rather than aping Hollywood, people in India should name their regional cinema after the name of the states.

"It's big shame for any state of india n its regional cinema when they call themselves Tollywood Bollywood gollywood loosing their own entity.

"Why can't they be proud to name their regional cinema on states like Bengali cinema, Punjabi cinema, Gujrati cinema than Hollywood imitations??" Ghai tweeted.

While Bollywood is a popular name for Hindi films, Tollywood is used for Telegu and Bengali movie industry and Kollywood is a colloquial name given to Tamil movie business.
