Oh, may I say that, that is the ONLY way to greet your husband... Laughing.. Pardon the lame pun. Just perfect Jigs. I had so much fun in this chapter. I was just collecting my favorite moments and loving how you incorporated them in my favorite story
'he shook off the excess water from his hair, splashing it directly across her face.' Ahhh... what do I say...
I laughed so hard at his creative solution of getting everyone out of the house to get some alone time with K. Do you know why? Because he could not say 'Aane Do' to this audience.
Anjali's interruption... sigh... I guess we have to forgive her for that but Khushi's response..."Baccha, no need to kiss up for ruining yet another romantic moment between us." Priceless! Laughing.
I loved the beauty of their love. Sometimes (ok most times) when kids come along, the relationship between the parents is forced to take the back seat. The magic is when you can find a balance between being parents and being spouses... that's where the best of both worlds lies. And you have given your A&K that magic. Thank you.
The christmas eve... The camaraderie not just between adults, not just between kids, but between adults and kids. One of my most favorite parts of this chapter was where Aman blocks Ari's way to demand his due. Sometimes a secondary character can almost take the most favorite spot. Aman did that here... Love his loyalty where he point blankly reveals Arnav's dad's whereabouts to him... no 'I am hiding it from you for your own benefit... coz I know what is best for you'. That excuse/mindset drives me crazy, therefore I appreciate all the more how your story is captivating without resorting to artificial props.
And "If I gave my daughter coal as a gift, she would not only love it, but also claim it was the best present... so you see there's no match." Papa ki chamchi... and isn't that the loveliest feeling for a father to experience.
And then the piece de resistance... that scene between the kids that I had been so looking forward to... Loved how the grown ups got into the spirit of that, with Arnav delivering the punchline. I had seen all possible ends to this scene but not this one.
I told you na... that this chapter is full of favorite moments for me. I could pretty much recount the whole chapter...
Yep they have paid their dues to life and it is time now to reap the rewards. What a beautiful present... what a beautiful family. Thank you Jigs for sharing this.
