Chapter 12

He was surprised to see the same person whom he has seen Arohi with in the hotel. He was hell confused. If the person was Arohi's friend ex-boyfriend then what was she doing with him on that day in drunk condition.
He at once pulled the curtain sensing that person might doubt about someone in the room. He could sense him coming toward the balcony. So he at once pulled her toward him. She collided with his chest with the sudden jerk. She held his shirt on his chest to prevent herself from falling. And his hand automatically covered her mouth to stop the shriek. Her eyes widened at his this act. He too looked at her and gestured her from his eyes to calm down. She kept staring at him. They moved toward the very narrow gallery which was adjacent to the other face of the wall they were pinned into. She clutched him tighter and hid her face in his chest sensing the jerk coming into the balcony.

Arjun peeped from there and heard the sound of closing the door. He looked at her. She had scrunched her eyes tightly due to fear of getting caught. Sensing his constant gaze she lifted her face and their eyes met, getting lost in each other forgetting every thing. Their lips were inches apart. They tightened their grip on each other unknowingly. His hand which was now holding her shoulder moved towards the nape of her neck lazily. Shivers ran through her body. He bent his face slowly towards her lips and she also lifted her face slowly to meet his lips. Their lips were almost brushing each other. She closed her eyes in anticipation. He was about to place his lips on hers when his phone vibrated in his pocket breaking his trance. He at once removed his hand. Feeling loss of his touch, she also opened her eyes. Realisation struck her. She at once created some difference between them. Due to awkwardness and embarrassment they were looking every where except each other faces.

He moved towards the balcony to check. No one was there in room. He signalled her to come. She followed him. They came to the room. She started fiddling with the keys. He turned her around holding her shoulder.

" I want to know everything NOW."demanded Arjun emphasizing now.

She looked at his hand which was on her shoulder. Sensing her uneasiness he at once removed his hand.

" Sir pls try to understand. We have to ..."

" I have seen you in the arm of this man in drunk condition."he said gritting his teeth. Unknown kind of possessiveness took over him.

She was shocked to hear this.

" Sir I will tell you everything . Trust me. We don't have much time. Anytime he can come back and moreover hotel staff can notice the camera. So pls..."replied Arohi composing herself.

He know that she was right. So he didn't ask her anything further. She fin ally opened the drawer and found the pen drive.

" Sir I got it. Let's move from here."

" Wait"

She looked at him questioningly.

" If he had backed up the data."he said looking at the laptop on the bed.
With that he moved towards the laptop and opened it.

" Sir it is secured. How we are gonna opened it."

He looked at her and smirked. He started typing something.

" Sir by any chance are you hacking his system."

He smirked.

" Sir you are HACKING HIS SYSTEM"she said freaking.

" Shhh... Miss Arohi. Hum dono pakre jayenge."

She looked at him dumbfounded.

" I am an ethical Hacker. I am trained in ethical hacking. Though it was not my subject. But I even did an advance course in it. You know I used to hack my dad's laptop when he stressed so much in his work. Though at first his reaction was anger but in sometime he would just understand that me and mom don't want him to take stress and most importantly need him. You know he is the best dad..." he stopped. His face fell down on realising something.

Arohi noticed his change of emotion. How his face change from happiness to pain.

" Sir are you alright?"asked Arohi in concern.

" I have hacked it. "he said emotionlessly diverting the topic.

" Is lichar ne iski copy bana rakhi hai."she said angrily.

Arjun deleted the file in the laptop and also the pen drive one. He asked her to put the pen drive in the drawer back and lock it. She did as he said. He put the laptop at its place and both move from there. They came back into Arjun's room.

She could sense he was disturbed.

" Sir I think we should just check out."

" Not before you tell me the whole truth."

" Sir actually his name is Vineet and he is an ex-boyfriend of a friend of mine. My friend was blinded in his that she was not able to see his real character. He is a playboy. When we friends tried to tell his truth to her many times she didn't believe us. He even manipulated her saying I am trying to break their relation because I like him. She had even planned to elope from her house to be with him because her family was not convinced about his character and hence refused to marry her to him. So I planned to expose him in front of her eyes. I pretended to be drunk and act as if I am defeated. I very well know his playboy nature that he will try to use his cheap tactics with me. He fell in my trap and confessed his truth. But now this cheapo has some pics of his and her. So he was trying to blackmail my friend to... I don't want to say what he want. It just disgust me that this kind of people even exit. Thank you so much sir aapne meri itni help Ki. Aap nahi hote to I don't know how would I have managed."

He pulled her towards him. And clutched her shoulder with pressure. She was in pain due to the pressure.

" Samajhti kya Ho tum apne aap ko. Mother India Ho. Agar us din tumhare saath us rascal ne kuch... Us din ka chodo agar aaj tum pakdi jaati to. Ek baar bhi socha hai mujh par tumhari family par tumhare bhaiyon par kya beet ti. Ye sab tum kyon socho gi tumhe to bus mahaan bun na tha. Haina."he shouted at her. His eyes were burning with anger.

" To kya karti. Chod deti aap ne friend ko ek haiwaan ke haton. Karne deti usay apni life spoil. Kya agar wo aap Ki friend ya behan hoti to kya chod dete aap."she jerked his hand and replied with equal rage.
" Haan sir boliye. Kya chod dete aap?"she asked softly.

He was spellbound. She is right. He would never have left his friend in this kind of situation. He himself don't know why he shouted at her. Why he felt protective toward her.

She hissed in pain. He came out of his thought hearing her hiss. He looked at her. She was rubbing her shoulders to ease the pain.

" I am sorry."he apologized looking at her.

" It's ok Sir. Anyone who cared for me would have reacted like this."she spoke absentmindedly.

He was stunned to hear this. When realisation struck her what she said she was also stunned.

" I m..ea...n sir that..."

" Let's move from here. It's already late."he cut her avoiding the awkwardness.

They both move toward the reception to check out. Jai was waiting there. He had called him in case anything backfires. Jai was stunned to see the two together.

Arjun was completing the formalities.

" Sir your coat. You might have dropped it when your wife..."said the manager handling him his coat.

" You don't have to tell me the details."cut Arjun.

Arohi was all red remembering the moment. Jai was surprised to hear 'wife'. He looked at Arohi who was blushing like a newly wedded bride who head been teased by their friends. He understood that he had missed something.

They move toward their cars. Jai held Arjun's hand and stopped him.

" Waise dude tune Shadi kab Ki. And if I am not wrong that manager was talking about Arohi. To that means..."teased Jai.

" Shut up Jai."said Arjun cutting him. He walked toward his car.

" Kuch to Hua hai. Kuch Ho Gaya hai."sang Jai following him. Arjun glared him.

" Come Arohi I will drop you."said Jai.

She nodded.

" Oh so sorry Arohi. I forgot I have to meet a client. Arjun why don't you drop her."lied Jai.

" It's ok Jai. I will take a cab."she replied. She doesn't want to be again in awkward situation.

" Why Arohi? He will drop you. When I asked you, you agreed. Now when I am saying that Arjun will drop you are denying. What is the problem. Waise bhi he is your hus...".

Arjun glared him angrily. Jai gulped.

" Ok bye guys. "he said gulping and drove away.

He dropped her at her house. She murmured a quick thank you and left hurriedly. Arjun chuckled at her action.

Arjun and Arohi both were thinking about each other. They both were reliving the moments spend between the two.

'She was helping her friend and I thought that she is a characterless girl. I also misunderstood her and her brother relation. How much I have hurt her due to this misunderstandings. But why did I even care whether how many boys she has in her life. I should not have reacted, the way reacted her in past. And today...'thought Arjun.

Ek baar bhi socha hai mujh par tumhari family par tumhare bhaiyon par kya beet ti.
It's ok Sir. Anyone who cared for me would have reacted like this.

'Why did I say that, kya mujhe fark parta hai? Do I really care for?'thought Arjun.
' Yes you do care for her. Not from now but from the start. She effects you. And she effects you very badly.'said his inner voice.
' No this is not true.'screamed Arjun.
' Yes it is true. Aur yeh utna hi sach hai jitna Ki yeh sach hai , that you like her very much. And i have a feeling that she also likes you.'said his inner voice.
'No I can't like her. And you know that. And she should also not like me. She knows nothing about me. I should avoid her. Haan I think main iske barey mein kuch jaida hi soch raha hoon. If I stay away from her everything will be fine.'he told to himself.

'Was I about to kiss him. Kyun jab wo mere itney kareeb hote hai to mera dimag kaam nahi Karta. Kyun aaj itna kuch Ho Jane ke baad bhi mujhe kuch bhi galat nahi laga.'thought Arohi.
She was thinking about his words.
Ek baar bhi socha hai, MUJH PAR tumhari family par tumhare bhaiyon par kya beet ti.
'Kya unko fark padta agar mujhe kuch Ho jata.'
' Why nowadays my thoughts start with him and end at him? Why his pain always bother me? Why even his small smile brightens my mood. Why I am always attracted toward him.'thought Arohi.
' Because you like him very much.'replied her inner voice.
' Yes I like him. That's why my brain stops working when I am close to him. Because it's my heart which overpowers my brain. I will have to talk to him.'she said to herself.
She hugged her pillow tightly and drifted into sleep awaiting for the next morning.

She wake up early and smiled thinking about yesterday. The realisation itself was giving her Goosebumps. She got ready to go the office.

She reached earlier to meet him but he was not in his cabin. She thought of waiting , as it was early. But whole day passed he had not came yet. She started worrying about him. She called him but he was not responding to her calls. She thought of asking Jai but Jai was also not there. She called Jai but his phone was also not reachable. This increased her tension. Office hours were almost over. Then she thought of calling Gaurav.

" Gaurav is everything fine."she asked instantly as he picked up.

" Yes Arohi. But what happened. Tum pareshan lag rahi Ho."

" I mean tum kahan Ho. Kya tum sir ke saath Ho."

" Sir mere saath kyun hongay. Main to ghar aa Gaya hoon."

" Matlab sir tumhare saath nahi hai. Sir kahan hai. Sir aaj office bhi nahi aye. Main kab se unko phone kar rahin hoon. Wo utha hi nahi rahein. Jai ka bhi phone nahi lag raha. I hope Sir is fine."she said panickingly.

" Arohi calm down. Sir is fine. Mere kehne ka matlab tha Ki sir aapne ghar chalein Gaye honge. Sir aaj site pe thein Isliye office nahi aaye. Aur rahi baat phone nahi uthane Ki to shayad wo..." He was not able to complete his sentence because Arohi cut the phone.

He was sitting on the sofa and glancing at his phone. It was showing 20 missed calls of her. He was feeling bad for avoiding her after what happened yesterday. But it has to be done for the good of both. He was in his thoughts when doorbell rang. He opened the gate only to find her standing.

" What do you think of yourself. Samajhte kya hai aap apne aap ko. Aapko pata hai main kitna dar gayi thi. Aap aaj office nahin aaye. Mera phone nahi utha rahein the. Jai ka bhi number nahi lag raha tha. Pata hai kitne bure-bure khayal aa rahein thein. Par aapko kya. Kal to mujhe bahaut bhasan de rahein thein. Ek baar phone utha ley tey to kya hota. Agar itney busy thein to free hone ke baad call nahi kar saktey thein."she said angrily.

[B]" Shut up "

" Why would I. You should apologize for your irresponsible behaviour."

" I said shut up Miss Arohi. Who are you to me that I am answerable to you. Don't forget our relationship. I am your boss and you are my employee. So I will decide whether receiving your call is important or not. Mein aapke tarah faltu may time waste nahi karta. I have a company to run. So pls maintain your professional etiquettes."

" But kal Jo Hua. I thought." She was hurt.

" What you thought. I just helped you. Tumhari jagah koi aur bhi hota to I would have done the same. Don't give yourself that much important."

" Thank you so much SIR for making me realise. It was my mistake that I misunderstood you. I should have known that meri jagah koi aur hota to bhi aap wahi kartein. Mujhe pata hona chahiye tha that you would have, ALMOST KISSED any random girl. I am so sorry for my unprofessional behaviour. Aage se aisa nahi hoga. Sorry for the inconvenience SIR"she said in hurt voice and turn to go from there.

Jai was on the door. He was shocked to hear everything. She wiped her tears seeing Jai and gave him a faint smile and walked from there. Jay didn't ask her anything. He looked at Arjun who was also going towards his room.

She cried and cried and cried. Her tears were not stopping. She know that on whom she was wasting her tears is not worthy of it. But what to do she had felt something this much strong for the first time. His words were piercing her heart. She looked at the open sky from her balcony and this made her cry more. She felt someone wrapping a shawl around her. She at once wiped her tear and turned to find her mother and father standing.

" Maa papa aap log yahan." asked Arohi trying to hide her crying voice.

" Kyun hum aapni bachee ka dukh baatney nahi aa sakte."replied Sudheer.

" Dukh. I am not sad Papa. I am just tired."

" Pata hai Arohi jab bachaa dukhi hota hai na, to wo Maa se kitna bhi chupale. Maa ko pata chal hi jata hai. Aur agar Bache Ki aankhein Teri jaisi Ho Jo sab kuch apne aap hi bayaan kar deti Ho to Maa ka kaam aur aasaan Ho jata hai"said Amrit sitting beside her and caressing her hair.

" Bol bachee. Kya baat hai."asked Sudheer sitting beside her.

" Nothing Papa. It's not serious."she assured leaning her head on his shoulder.

" Aacha nahi batana hai mat Bata. Bas itna yaad rakhna Ki koi cheez agar takleef de na to uska saamna karo lekin yaad rakhna Ki wo worthy Ho. Agar koi unworthy cheez takleef de to usko ignore karna hi behtar hota hai."said sudheer.

" Ab tu soja. Aur haan ek baat aur kuch bhi Ho jaye hum hamesha tumhare saath hai."said Amrit giving her the hot chocolate mug.

She analysed her parents word and wiped her remaining tears and got into her room to sleep. Next 2 days were weekend giving her ample of time to compose herself.

He was not getting sleep. He tried to sleep but her hurt face always come in front of him. He justified himself saying what he did was right.

Jai thought of talking to him about yesterday. He saw him coming down with a gift box in his hand. He at once remembered today's date. Jai thought today is not the right day to confront him. But he made a mental note to ask him about yesterday.

" So you are going to meet them."asked Jai.

Arjun nodded and silently started his breakfast.

" Wish her from my side also."said Jai.

" Mmm"replied Arjun.

Rest of the breakfast was silent.

He was waiting for her in a restaurant. He didn't want to face her because she will again ask her something which he can't give. But he can't avoid this day. Whole year he can avoid her but today. His thoughts was broken by someone's voice.

" Hi Arjun." said a female voice.

" Hi "he replied smilingly.

He got up from his sit to pull the chair for her.

" Say hi baby."she said to her 2 yrs old baby.

" Hiii... Chaasuuu"she said in her baby voice clapping her hand.

" Hi bachaa and happy birthday jaan."he said kissing her and taking her from her mother.

He make her sit on his lap and gave her the gift. She clapped her hand and jump seeing the gift. He kissed on her cheeks seeing her cute antics. She also gave him open mouth kiss.

" Kaise Ho Arjun."she asked.

" Theek hoon. Tum kaisi Ho."

" Main theek hoon Arjun. Par mujhe nahi lagta tum theek Ho."she replied.

" Taru had grown up. And she had learnt to speak."said Arjun looking at Taru trying to divert the topic.

" Haan ek saal par dekhne se aisa hi lagega."she replied.

" Aaj nahi Purvi."said Arjun.

" To kab bolu Arjun. Aaj ke sewaye aur kabhie tum miltey Ho. Teen saal se tum India Mein ho. Aur in teen salon Mein, tum mujhse Kewal do baar Miley ho. Mujhse miley to ho atleast par unko to tumne 5 saal...Arjun kab tak past ko pakar kar baithe rahoge. 5 saal ho Gaye hain Arjun. Ab to aage badho. "replied Purvi helplessly.

" Tum past ko pakar kar baithi ho Purvi. Arjun to kabka aage bhad Gaya."he replied sternly.

" Aacha chodo ye sab. Ye batao Salil kaisa hai."asked Arjun.

" Salil theek hai aur baki sab bhi."replied Purvi knowing that he will not ask about them.

" Arjun ye lo main tumhare liye gaajar ka halwa layi hoon."she said forwarding him the small tiffin.

" Thanks Purvi par meine gaajar ka halwa khana chor Diya hai."

" Thoda Sa khane se kuch nahi hoga at least taste to karo. Meine banaya hai."she said opening the tiffin and forwarding him.

" Mujhe pata hai Purvi ye tum ne nahi banaya hai. Ye usne bheja hai."replied Arjun emotionlessly.

" Tumhe kaise pata ye Maine nahi banaya hai. Believe me Arjun ye meine banaya hai."

" Mujhe pata hai. Aisa halwa wohi banati hai. Iski smell Bata rahi hai Ki isey usne banaya hai"

" Jab tumhe pata hi hai to thoda Sa kha lo na Arjun."requested Purvi putting the tiffin in front of him

" Mujhe late ho raha Purvi. I think I should leave."said Arjun.

Purvi became sad that he not even tasted it when she saw Taru putting her hand in tiffin and grabbing some halwa in her little fingers. She moved her hand towards his mouth.

" Chaaasuuu"she said in her baby voice bringing her fingers near his lips.

" No Jaan. Ye aap khao. Chaachu ko aacha nahi lagta."he said. She looked at him with her big eyes. She made a puppy face.

" Come on Arjun aur Kisi ke liye nahi to Taru ke liye kha lo."she pleaded.

He finally gave up. And ate it kissing her fingers.

" Tum Maa beti ko blackmail karna bahaut aache se aata hai."

" Waise how was it?"asked Purvi.

" I think I should leave. It's quite late."he said handling Taru to Purvi.

" Bye Jaan "said Arjun kissing Taru's cheeeks.

" We will wait for you in the party tonight."said Purvi

" Don't. Because you know I am never gonna come."he said and moved from there.

Her phone rang.

" So did you met him"asked the other person.

" Yes Salil."replied Purvi.

" Did he agreed for the party?"

" No "she replied disappointedly.
" I don't know when everything will be fine between them."

" Don't worry Jaan. Sab theek ho jayega."

" Waise you know your laadli fed him the halwa."

" Did he not recognized the taste?"

" Do you really think he will not recognize the taste of her hand. Usne to smell se hi pakar liya but your laadli played her trump card. I mean her puppy face and it worked."

" I am so proud of you my bachaa. She will be very happy on hearing this."

" I know she will be very happy."

Chapter 13

They were doing their daily routine that is, he staring at her while she was drinking her coffee with Simmi and other colleagues. A week has been passed when he lashed on her. From that day she had strictly maintained her 'professional etiquettes' as suggested by him but it seems like he is the only one between the two who is restless with the decision that too his own. He stared at her smiling figure but something was amiss in her smile. He cursed himself for being rude with her once again but he was left with no choice. He can't nourish the relation they were stepping into. She left from there and he sighed in disappointment. He closed his eyes resting his back in the chair.

" When will you let your guard down."

He snapped his eyes open hearing Jai's voice.

" Jai!"

" I asked when will you let your guard down and accept it?"

" What do you mean?"he said turning the pages of file.

" You know what I am talking about."replied Jai looking towards Arohi's cubicle.

He ignored jai. Jai sighed.

" Arjun I cannot push you everytime and specially, not in this matter. Kuch cheejay khud realise Ho to achaa hota hai. And realisation se bhi jyada jaruri hai acceptance. One need to accept the realisation else it is of no use."said looking softly at him.

Arjun didn't say anything. He just stared Jai.

" I know you have realised, bas accept karna baki hai. Darr to bas iss baat ka Ki kahin accept karne mein bahaut der na Ho jaye."said Jai softly and moved out of his cabin.

The ringing of his mobile snapped him out of his thoughts.
He picked up and answered the call.
" Ok we are coming."he replied.
" There is some problem at the construction site. We need to go there. Take the blue prints with yourself."he said calling Arohi.

There was an awkward silence in the car between the two. She was looking out of the window completely ignoring him. And he was not liking it at all but he also can't do anything because he himself has asked for this.
They reached at the construction site and indulged themselves. After hours of working finally the issue was sorted out. It was almost 5'o clock. He was walking toward his car while talking with the engineers and she was just ahead of him. She stumbled on the concrete rock while walking but before she could control herself from falling, a hand wrapped around her waist and hold her tight to prevent her from falling. Her eyes met with the eyes of her saviour and she lost herself in the pool of emotions which was reflecting in his eyes. A little amount of care, a bit of worry, a pinch of anger and ample of relief. He was admiring her beautiful eyes when the engineers voice echoed in his ears.

" Are you fine Miss"asked one of the engineer.

She came into her senses and straighten herself and nodded awkwardly. He was still looking at her as if asking is she fine.

" I would have managed. I was not about to fall, I just stumbled. Any way thank you Sir. But it was not required."said Arohi.

Anyone who heard her would have thought her to be very rude. But he very well know that it was not out of rudeness but because of pain which was given by him only.

" Let me drop you."he said politely

" Thank you Sir but I can manage."she replied stiffly.

" Don't be stubborn Miss Arohi. I will not leave you here alone. Moreover I know you don't have your scooty with you."

" How does he know that?"asked she herself.

" Aur waise bhi agar tumhare..."

" I know Sir. Agar meri jagah koi aur bhi hota to you would have done the same. Thank you for your concern for a MERE EMPLOYEE but still I can manage."said Arohi cutting him.

He was about to reply her but someone voice stop him. Someone was calling Arohi's name. She turned around to look at the person. The surprised expression and enormous happiness on her face didn't got unnoticed by him. She ran to the person, in excitement and threw herself hugging him.

" Oh my God. Oh my God. You here. You stupid, idiot can't you just let me know. When you arrived? I doubt you even plan to tell me or others. I just hate you. Answer me you troublemaker..."

" Easy baba easy. If you will let me speak, then I will speak na. I am sorry babes, I should have informed at least to you about my whereabouts. But I want some peace here which I cannot have with you because of your non-stop chattering."the person teased her.

Arohi smacked his arm in response.

" Ok now seriously sorry. I want to give you surprise by reaching directly but on seeing you here, I couldn't control myself. But I am ready for any kind of punishment."

" Punishment to tujhe milegi. Tomorrow you have to spend whole day with me."

" That's a big punishment. Whole day with a chatterbox like you. I think I have to visit a doctor for the sake my ears."

" Dhondsss "

He held his earlobe for apologizing. All this conversation was heard by Arjun. He was pissed at her and more pissed at himself for feeling this way.

" Chal let's have coffee "said Arohi.

" I think someone is waiting for you. "Dhonds said raising his eyebrow towards Arjun.

She looked at him and the face that was sometime ago blooming with happiness fell down. The change in expression was noticed by both the men. She excused herself.

" Sir aap abhi tak nahi Gaye."

" How can I leave you here alone with an unknown person. I need to assure your safety."he said possessively.

She was pissed of his behaviour. He himself wanted her to stay away from him. And when she was doing the same he was making it difficult for her.

" Sir he is not unknown for me. He is my childhood best friend. And I am more than safe with him, than you. And please don't interfere with my privacy."she said frustratingly.

He was hurt by her this statement. She didn't wait for his next action and turned around to walk to Dhonds. She held Dhonds hand and walk into the nearby cafe.

He stared at her retreating figure.

" Send Miss Arohi to my cabin. "ordered Arjun to Gaurav.

" Sir she is on leave for one day. "replied Jai.

He remembered her talk with her friend.

" Why"he asked restlessly.

" I don't know Sir."replied Gaurav and exit his cabin.

His anger has no bound. How can she take a leave. How can she ignore work for her stupid 'childhood best friend'. He couldn't stop thinking about their bonding which he saw yesterday. He picked his phone and dialled her but she was not responding. He dialled again but same thing happened. This increased his restlessness and anger.

" Come in my cabin now "he ordered her.

She know that his mood was not good. She has some kind of feeling it is due to event of day before yesterday.
'Does it affect him. And if yes then why? He himself has asked me this. Then why now?'she asked herself.

She knocked the door. On entering she saw him busy on his laptop. She sighed in relief. But his next sentence again created havoc within her.

" Kal kahan thi? "he asked possessively.

" Sorry!!!"

" You should be"

" What!!! I mean what you asked?"

" I know you heard it first time. So now reply where were you yesterday?"he said still looking at the laptop

" I don't think I need to answer this question."

This irked him. He got up from his chair and stood in front of her blocking her between him and the desk. Her breath hitched. He was standing very close to her and looking directly in her eyes. The intensity of his gaze forced her to look at the floor.

" I. ASKED.WHERE. WERE. YOU YESTERDAY?"he asked gritting his teeth.

" And...I..I...have...al..already..to.ld you .she said stammering not looking into his eyes.

" I need an answer dammit "he said angrily holding her arm and jerking her towards him.

" I am not answerable to you. "

" Oh yes you are. I am your boss"

" No I am not. It's my personal matter."she replied this time looking directly into his eyes.

" May be it's your personal matter. But if it will affect my company then it's not."
He himself don't know what shit he is speaking. He just want his answer by hook or crook.
She was flabbergasted. How her being on leave for one day will affect the company. Well she doesn't know that it was not affecting the company but the owner of the company.

" I don't think so. I don't have any pending work."

" Tum us stupid Dhondu ke saath thi na. How could you do this. Kya tumne ek baar bhi mere barey Mein nahi socha. Kya kaha tha tumne tum mere saath safe nahi Ho. How could you dammit."he said bringing her more close to him.

She put her hand on his chest to avoid any kind of contact that can later put her in embarrassing situation.

" Sir you're crossing your limit. And his name is not Dhondu. Moreover why does it affect you. If I am spending my damn time with him or any other guy. It's my life. So pls STAY AWAY"she said getting out of his hold. She turned around to leave

" It does affect me. Can't you understand."he said clutching her arm and turning her around roughly.

She looked into his eyes. She was not able to read what is in it. She stared at him blankly.

" Why ?"she asked softly still looking into his eyes.

He left her hand and stared her. He doesn't have any answer. He was confused. Was it just like? She was trying to find the answer in his eyes which his mouth was not able to speak. He turned around and ruffle his hair frustratingly.

" Jab aapke pass iss sawal ka jawab hoga tab mujhse apne sawalon ka jawab maangiyega."she said and left his cabin.

He was drinking coffee and staring at the starless sky. He was thinking about today's conversation between him and her when someone put his hand on him.

" Anything bothering you. You know you can share with me."asked Jai sitting beside him.

He nodded negatively.

" Is it about Arohi."again Jai asked.

" I don't know Jai what's between me and her. I have realized that I cannot see her with anyone but I don't want to rush into any conclusion. You know how messed up I am. And I don't want to mess her life also. I somewhere know I like her but I am not sure about anything further. I don't understand what to do?"he said sighing

Jai very well know how difficult it was for him to open up even before him. He was afraid, insecure due to his past. He himself don't want him to rush that's why he is not forcing him for anything.

" Then give her and yourself a chance. Talk with her and tell her about your feelings. "
" But if I am not wrong you both aren't in talking terms."Jai said after a pause.

" Yes. She avoids me."he replied in hurt tone.

Jai know what is the equation between these two nowadays. He need to do something. Then an idea came into his mind.

" Accha chal chor wo sab. Hume parson Mehra Ki party Mein Jana hai. Par meri ek hearing so I will not be able to come. Why don't you ask Arohi to come with her. In this way you will get sometime to talk with her. What say."

" Par kya woh manegi."he asked hesitatingly.

" Woh sab tu mujh par chorde."

He was waiting for her in the car when she came with Shefali. He was stunned to see Shefali. He called Jai but cut the call on seeing him.

" Dude our plan backfired. She said she wanted Shefali to give her company. And I couldn't deny her."

" Now what?"

" Ok I will accompany you all."

" But you said you have hearing."

" Which hearing?"

Arjun gave him glaring look.

" Ohh...thatt...hearing. It got cancelled."replied Jai biting his tongue.

Arjun gave him ' oh really look '.

"Jai tu to nahi aaney wala tha na?"asked Shefali.

" Woh my meeting got cancelled so thought of joining you all."he answered

" Hearing "commented Arjun.

" Huh!! "

" Not meeting Hearing Jai."teased Arjun

" Both are same thing. "replied Jai nervously.
" Ab chalen warna pahaunchte- pahaunchte late Ho Jana hai. 3 ghante Ki long journey hai bhul Gaya kya tu."said Jai stopping the tease game.

Arohi sat with Shefali in back seat and Jai joined Arjun in front. They drove away while chattering. But the chatterbox was silent today. She was speaking when asked to. After an hour Shefali felt sleepy and she slept. Jai also pretend to be sleeping giving them some privacy. She felt restless because he was looking at her through rear mirror. She wanted to hide herself from him but she doesn't have any place. She wanted to pretend as if she is sleeping but she know that his gaze will be on her. And moreover she was also not able to control her gaze. Whenever their eyes collided they moved their gaze away from each other. This was noticed by Jai.

" Arjun road par dhayan de. Mujhe itni jaldi Marne ka shauk nahi hai. "

Arjun glared him. Arohi was embarrassed. Shefali also got up from her sleep.

" Do anyone mind if I play radio."asked Jai.

" As if Hume problem hogi to tu nahi bajayega."replied Arjun irritatingly.

" Mujhe pata hai tu sadu hai. Prove karne Ki zaroorat nahi hai. Chal rok car ab main drive Karta hoon."

Jai started driving and continue changing channel. He tuned when he heard the song.(Guys pls read the song lyrics. It describe the situation well. I suggest if you could hear the song. It's the song of movie pardes)

" I am shutting the radio off, my head is throbbing."said Arjun ending the awkwardness.

Jai smirked hearing him.

After taking some rest. They started getting ready for the party.

Arjun was busy talking with the host and other business delegates. But he was looking at her to see that she is fine.

Arohi was enjoying the party with Shefali but she was not unaware of his gaze.

Jai looked at both.
" Maine socha Ki yeh party inhe ek dusre se baat karne ka ek mauka degi par yeh to... Ek kewal taarta hai aur dusra kewal ignore Karta hai. Socha tha agar ye dono ek dusre ke saath busy rahenge to main bhi Shefali ke saath thoda quality time spend karta. Kitni pyari lag rahi hai meri Shefu. Hai main mar jaawaan."he said to himself sighing and looking at Shefali.
" Par abhi apne baarey Mein sochne ka time nahi hai. Mere gadhe dost ke liye kuch chakkar chalana padega."

He moved towards Shefali and Arohi. He asked Arohi for a dance. Shefali's face fell down. She was expecting him to ask her but she smiled trying to hide the sadness. Jai noticed her this action. He felt bad for Shefali but he has to do this for Arjun.
Arohi didn't want to dance but she can't hurt him by refusing him. Moreover she didn't want to leave Shefali alone. Though she tried denying him politely but he insisted so she agreed.

He was looking at the duo and sipping his drink. When he heard someone's voice.

" You love her very much. Don't you."said Shefali standing beside.

He looked at her. It was not a question , it was a statement.

" Love is a big word. Isn't?"he questioned her.
She was silent.
" What about you?"he asked looking at Jai and Arohi.

" What about me. Me and Jai are just friends. There is nothing between us."she replied.

" But I didn't mention Jai."he asked questioningly.

Shefali was tongue-tied with his this statement. She was fumbling with the words.

" Don't worry I didn't mention Jai doesn't mean that I was not talking about him. Waise bhi he is so into you."he said with his signature smirk.

Shefali was stunned to hear this. Was he really ...she wondered. Shefali gave him a questioning look.

" Agar koi banda Kisi beautiful ladki ke saath hai phir bhi usko nazre Kisi aur ko dondh rahi Ho to iska ek hi matlab hota."he said sipping his drink and looking at Jai who was looking here and there to locate Shefali.

She felt something in her stomach looking at Jai as if thousands of butterflies are summersaulting.

" If you want to compliment Arohi. You can do directly. No need of all this. And moreover he is not my type. He is very much cheesy."replied she gathering herself.

" Just cheesy. Then you don't know him completely. He is much more than that. He is number 1 flirt, a total jerk, ullu da pattha, gadha, a pain in head." said Arjun.
Shefali smiled hearing these 'praises'.
"I can go on enlisting his qualities. Par inn sab ke waabjood I can give you gurantee that he is a very good person. Despite of his flirty nature he has never hurt a single girl. Moreover tujh se milne ke baad mera kamina awara dost sudhar gaya hai. I can assure you that he will always support you. Though he is a pain in ass but he is a good person."he said looking at Jai with so much emotions that Shefali didn't control herself from admiring the relationship these two people share. She was not unaware of Jai's care towards Arjun and now she was also not anawre of Arjun's feeling towards Jai. Friendship is one of the most beautiful relationship one can have isn't.


They saw Arohi and Jai walking toward them. So Arjun thought of giving the duo much needed privacy which was required after what he told to Shefali. Moreover he also want to talk to Arohi. So he asked Arohi to come outside with him. First Arohi denied but he convinced her saying it's important. They walked to the pool of the hotel.

" I wanted to give them privacy."said Arjun breaking the silence.

Arohi gave him a questioning look.

" Woh Jai like Shefali very much."said Arjun awkwardly.

She was surprised to hear that. But she somewhere had slight idea about this. The way Jai helped Shefali going out of the way. His concern towards her. These all things was giving her hint about it. She was very happy for Shefali. But she know that Shefali was hard nut to crack but she also know that Jai is perfect for Shefali.

" Are you ok?"asked Arjun in concern.

She got reminded of her equation with him. She felt low. Again everything came in front of her. His actions, his anger, his ignorance. It was hurting her badly. Lump in her throat was not letting her breathe. She wanted to cry but she also don't want to sound vulnerable in front of him. So she thought of avoiding him. She turned and started walking inside.

" Miss Arohi..."he said softly as if sensing her state.

" Don't worry I will not disturb them."

" Umm It's not that. I umm wanted to say sorry for my previous behaviour. "

She didn't said anything and started walking again but was stopped by his voice.

" Miss Arohi I really am sorry. I know I have hurt you and your ignorance is totally justified. But I really want everything to be fine between us. I want to give us, a chance. Will you give me a chance?"he said coming in front of her.

She looked at him emotionlessly.

" Please speak. Will you give us a chance?"he asked again holding her hand.

" No "she replied jerking her hand from his.

" But why? I know I have behaved like a jerk but that doesn't mean that you will punish me in this way. I was confused. So I thought of ignoring you..."

" Wow! Excellent! You were confused so thought of ignoring and hurting me. Have you ever thought about, how I will feel after that. Nahi haina. Kyun? Because my feelings don't matter to you. Jab chaha tab dutkaar Diya jab chaha tab aa Gaye mafi mangne. Main koi machine nahi hoon aapke tarah. I have a heart unlike you."she outburst cutting him and moving towards refreshment to cool down herself.

He was expecting this kind of outburst from her. In normal circumstances he would have not tolerated anyone speaking to him like that but now when the girl he love, did the same he couldn't say say anything to her because he know she was not wrong. Wait did he said THE GIRL HE LOVE. Was Shefali right about his feelings for her. Isn't it too early to name this feeling as love. He need to figure it out but first he need to find Arohi to ensure her safety. Strange isn't aap us insaan ko akela nahi chor na chahte Jo abhi abhi apko akela chor kar Gaya hai. He chuckled at his own thoughts and walked toward her direction.

" Give me a virgin margarita."she ordered the bartender.

He placed a drink on the counter and she gulped it down.

" Oh it tastes different."she said making weird faces.

" Mam that was not your drink. "

After sometime she felt good. It calmed her down.
" I want more."

" But mam.."

" I said I want more."
She went on drinking till she felt extremely good.

"Miss Arohi I wanted to..."

She turned around hearing his voice.
" Oh Sssiiirrr aaappp. Par kyuuun I dooon't want to talk to yoouu."she said slurring-ly getting up from the chair. She stumbled but he hold her instantly. She smiled at him.

" Are you drunk?"

" Oh no no no. Main pi nahi hai. Mainu pila di gayi hai. Jo bhi hai sahi hai. Mazaa aa rahi hai."she said singing.

" Actually Sir Mam ne virgin margarita Ki jagah margarita pi liya."said bartender frighteningly.

" Are you stupid..."he was about to burst on him but stopped when Arohi started moving away from him.

"Hey stop."he said holding her arm.

" Nooo. I dooon't want to talk to you. I waaant to get ouuut of thisss paaarty."she said pouting.

" Ok I will take you."

" Nooo. I mmm a BIG girl. I will go by myself. Dooon't behave like myyy Rajveer bhai. Only he has the right to behave like that not youuu. Underrrstoood."she said childishly pointing her index finger toward him and started walking.

He was hurt with her last sentence but he shrug it off . He could see some men looking at her.

" Come with me."he said holding her hand possessively

She resisted but he didn't loosened his grip and kind of drag her out of the party to save her from the lustful gaze of some people.

" Leeeave my haand Sirrr."she said jerking his hand. She rubbed her wrist to ease the slight pain.

" I am sorry. I...I didn't mean to hurt you."

" Why doo youuu always hurt me sirr."she asked innocently looking into his eyes.

He look into her eyes. He don't know how to reply her. He doesn't have any answer.

" Don't you like me?"she asked pouting.

He was about to answer her. When her next questioned surprised him.

" Don't you liiike girls Sirrr? Dooo youuu like boys? Hawww are you gaayy Sirrr."

" Where did that come from. Does she really think I am a gay."said Arjun to himself.

" Do you like Jai Sirrr. I have seen you both. Rememberrr my first day of office and then you proposing to Jai and then Jai proposing you. Kya baat aage badhi yaa abhi tak aap dooono ek doosre kooo propose hi kar rahen hain."she said while sitting on edge of the swimming pool.

" Whatt???"he said sitting beside her.

" Buuttt I have one doubt Sirr..."she said showing her index finger and thinking.

He just stared at her angelic face. How childlike she behaves when drunk. This is her first time surely.

" Sirr you said Jaiii liiike Shefaaaliii. Buutt you like and Jaii also like youuu. So are you soutan of my best frrriend. Buuttt you can't be the soooutan because you are a man. Sooo does that mean Shefaalii is the soooutann but hoooww caaan she be soooutan. Sooutan are two women who marryyy same man haina. She is woman and you are a man. That means you are not a man. Are you?..."

He kept his index finger on her lips to shut her non-stop blabber. Feeling his finger on her lips she felt tingling sensation in her whole body even in her drunk state.

" I don't need to show you whether I am man or not. When the time will come you will know yourself."he said smirking.

She have goosebumps all over her body hearing his sentence.

" And moreover I don't like man. I am very much straight for your information. And about liking girls. Yes I like girls."

She pouted hearing that.

" But not in that sense. But I like a girl specifically in that sense. And about being 'soooutan' of Shefali. That's not possible because Jai loves her only and I like someone else. So basically no one is 'soooutan' here"he said looking into her eyes and air quoting soutan.

She doesn't speak anything and lean into him and rested her head on his shoulder. Her this small gesture means a lot to him. He wound his arms around her to return her gesture. He just stared at her who was looking into the water silently as if thinking something looking beautiful and serene. He doesn't want this moment to end. He just wanted to be in this position lifetime.

" But Sirr I am warning you and Jai if you guys ever hurt Shefali in anyway then I will never leave you and him."she said breaking the silence and passing out.

"There she goes again." thought Arjun.
He felt her holding his collar tightly and rubbing her face in his neck as if trying to find more comfort. Her this action brought some feeling which he don't want to acknowledge now. He looked at her to find her sleeping peacefully. He took out his mobile and dialled Jai.

"How does that happened?"asked worried Shefali.

" She drank alcoholic drink instead of non-alcoholic."

" Oh my God. She has never touch alcohol in her life. She will be fine na. I should haven't left her alone."said she worriedly.

" Calm down Shefali. She will be fine. Now we have to take her to the room."said Jai.

" You guys carry on. Shefali give me the key. I will drop her in the room."said Arjun.

" No I will not leave her alone."said Shefali.

" She will be fine Shefali. Don't you trust me."asked Arjun.

" It's not about trust Arjun. Moreover I am done for tonight."

Arjun can't stop himself from admiring the relationship these two shared. Friendship is one of the most beautiful relationship one can have isn't.

" She is right Arjun. You guys take her to the room. I will inform Mehra about our departure."said Jai.

He lifted her in his arms and followed Shefali.
She opened the door and he put her on the bed covering her with the duvet. Shefali moved out informing their parents that they couldn't return today. He looked at her angelic face. He tugged the hair strand behind her ear and kissed her temple which ease the lines of her forehead. He was amazed to see her responding even in her sleep. He felt extremely happy.
Shefali entered the room and informed him that she had talked to their family. Jai also came after informing Mehra and said that they will leave tomorrow after breakfast.

Arjun assured Shefali that Arohi will be fine and left with Jai to retire for the day.
