--FLASHBACK--

" Mausi, Mumma Akhir Maan Hi Gayi! She is letting me go to our school excursion. Love you for convincing her, Mausi." Little Khushi's lovely words brought upon a huge smile on Ananya's face as she lifted Khushi up in her arms and made her sit in her own lap affectionately.

"Love you too, baby. Jab Ham Kisi Se Bohot Pyaar Karte Hai Na Ham Unke Liye Apne Khud Ke Rai, Soch Yahan Tak Ki Khud Ko Bhi Badal Dete Hai. And your Mumma loves you so much that she would do anything for your happiness." Ananya's words were too far-fetched for young Khushi to understand as she returned a confused look to Ananya, who kissed her on the cheek compassionately while giggling at her nieces' cute antics.

Her Mausi's words came back to her. But unlike all the times in past, this time they were asking her to open the gates of her heart to someone who had completely changed himself to impress her.

The arrogant Arnav Singh Raizada who didn't take orders from anyone was listening to her unvoiced demands and was bearing her taunts quietly.

The person who was shameless and mannerless towards her in their initial days was apologizing to her for even holding her back to speak about their siblings' future.

The person who was known to be ruthless and cold to entire world was ready to move to couch at the cost of his own discomfort just to assure that she was not feeling comfortable.

If these were not changes then what else were, questioned Khushi's heart as it urged her to forget the past and move on. Life was certainly merciful enough to grant a second chance to their relationship and her heart didn't want to waste it, for somewhere there was a corner of her heart which would spread out warmth due to his love for her.

Her brother had handed over her responsibility to Arnav and that just increased Arnav's place in Khushi's heart. She had absolutely no right to even question the love of her brother for her and she was cent percent sure that her brother would never take a wrong decision for her and every action of his and Arnav's just proved it time and again.

Her mind traveled back to the day, Arnav had forcibly married her while her hands involuntarily raised themselves to touch her neck just as she did that day to confirm that she was facing the reality. As the skin of her touched another of the same kind, Khushi came back to the reality as the flashes disappeared.

Someone who wouldn't lose a chance to force her and claim his rights on her as a husband was now apologizing for stopping her. Someone who had filled her partition with force was asking her to backout from the Puja if she doesn't want to apply vermilion in her partition. Someone who didn't care about her feelings was placing her feelings above his own.

" Ma'am, it is late in the night. Are you not leaving?" Anita's question brought Khushi back from her thoughts as her eyes darted towards the clock to find out that it was ten in the night. It dawned upon her that she was engrossed in her thoughts for a very long time.

" I was about to go, Anita. You shouldn't have waited me. If there are files pending for approval, send them to the reception, I will collect them while going."

Khushi's lost look which Anita found when she opened the door was confusing her while Khushi exactly knew what she was going to do.

Shantivan,

Khushi walked into the room to see that Arnav was working on some files but he didn't forget to give her a warm smile, which again touched her heart.

" Arnav, I want to talk to you. Can you spare me a few minutes?" Khushi's soft tone and her words had shocked Arnav, who was not expecting this behavior from her anytime soon.

" Yeah sure, Khushi. Is everything alright?" Arnav's concern for her touched her heart yet again, that heart which she had desperately tried to safeguard from everyone.

" I hope everything will be alright, Arnav. I forgive you for everything what happened in our past and accept you and your love with all my heart. Finally, you managed to steal my heart whose keys my Mausi had taken off with herself. I love you, Arnav. Will you stay beside me forever?"

Joy erupted from every cell of Arnav's as his brain slowly deciphered the meaning of her words as it wanted to live the moment for the longest it can. But sudden light smacking on his arm, brought him back to earth from his dream heaven of love.

" If you are busy and in stress, we can talk about it later, Arnav. I know how stressful and important work can be." Khushi turned around to fresh up but Arnav stopped her by holding her arm gently,

" Nothing would be more important than what you want to say, Khushi. I would be guilty if you leave without opening up on what you wanted to tell." It was impossible that Khushi wanted to say something and Arnav wouldn't listen. Even if it was not a confession of love, every single word of hers would touch his heart automatically.

" Today I thought a lot about US, and I realized how wrong I was to look at you and your actions through a lens of the past. The lens has worn off and so has the vision of it. I want to give a sincere chance from my heart to us and our relationship. Will you help me in that Arnav?"

It was no less that a victory for him that Khushi was finally thinking to give him a chance and his love. His eyes glistened with pure love while his heart leaped in joy.

" You don't how happy your decision has made me, Khushi. And is this even a question to ask? I would be with you in every decision of yours. Thank you so much." Arnav leaned in to engulf Khushi in a hug but as an automated action, Khushi hand shot up, effectively stopping him from hugging her.

It hurt Arnav that somewhere some part of Khushi still doesn't trust him even though she has forgiven him and wants to accept him too. But he knew that he was deserving for it. He had forced Khushi in the past and his past was associated with too many girls for her body to trust him.

" It's okay, Khushi. I understand your state of mind. I will wait till you gt comfortable, no matter how long it takes."

Arnav walked away after giving her a smile of love and affection while Khushi questioned her own action while her mind told that it wasn't her fault because the reaction was too automatic.

A new chapter had opened up in their lives but will Khushi ever trust him with herself?
