Hope u r all doing fine!
I knw update thoda late ho gaya hain...wat to do...m all tied up wid projects and practicals, to say nothing of the farewell we have to give 2 the 10th std batch (Please remind me WHY they need a farewell? Oh yeah...its because they've given 10 YEARS to the school...well, it aint helping US much!!)
So anyways, enough of my rants. Here i present the third chapter o the story!!

CHAPTER 3
RECAP - Sandhir tell Parth all about their relationship, and also that randhir is from the black clan and Sanyukta from the yellow. Parth does not object to inter-clan relations, but reminds them that they needed to tell their parents. Randhir proposes marriage to sanyukta; she says yes.
Proposing to sanyukta was the easy part. The difficulties were to begin, now that they had decided to tell their parents about them.
A chilly winter wind blew,blowing the dead leaves from their spots n the sidewalk straight onto the road where they would be crunched by the barrage of cars going up and down the streets. Sanyukta and Randhir walked down the road, hand in hand. Though neither of them was speaking, they both knew instinctively what the other was thinking. Or may b it wasnt instincts at all...they were both thinking the same thing.
Randhir - Sanyukta...Ham yeh kar paayenge na?Dad ko manane ka toh pata nahi...magar atleast mom?? Aur bhai??
Sanyukta - Tum chinta mat karo, randhir. Hamara pyaar iss sab ko jhelne ki taaqat rakhta hain. We'll come out of this 2gether, dont worry. Aur rahi baat mom aur bhai ki, ek dafa baat toh kar lenge? Tum pehle diaolos toh chalo..phir dekhte hain.
Randhir - We should have brought Parth along...agar ham baat na kar paaye, atleast he could have charmed them out of denial!
Sanyukta - Negative sochna band karo randhir. Aur parth aata bhi toh kya hota? Tum bhool rahe ho tum nigrosso se ho. Koi bhi black magic tumhaare mom par kaam nahi karegi...aur white magic parth ko zyada aati nahi. Kya tum bhi
Randhir - I'm scared sanyu...What if...What if i lose u? Maine already bohot kuch khoya hain life me...i cant afford to lose u as well...
Sanyukta stopped. She turned towards randhir, held his arms and made him turn, too. She rose up on her toes and, making sure no one was looking, gently pecked him on the lips.
Sanyukta - Now keep quiet, okay? Shaant ho jaao. KUCH nahi hoga hame.
30 mins later, they were standing at the door of randhir's house. He had never lived there, but his mom and brother lived there. His dad, divorced and as the head of the clan, lived separately in a mansion, and he was a different person to tackle. RIght now, all they wanted was the approval of Renuka Sanyal, randhir's mother.
They knocked on the door. Randhir's elder brother, Ranvir opened the door. Ranvir came forward and hugged randhir. He stiffened, his arms hanging limply at his sides. Sanyukta noticed this and saw the disconfort in randhir's eyes as ranvir ushered them inside the house, exclaiming at the chill outside.
Ranvir - Well, well, welll!!! How nice to see u again, randhir! Kitne dinn ho gaye hain tumse baat kiye!
Randhir - U r right bro. Wese...mom kahaan hain??
Ranvir - Woh bahar gayi hui hain. Kaafi der ho chuki hain...she'll b back eny moment now!! And by the way, who's the pretty lady? Hame introduce nahi karvaaoge?? (smiles)
Randhir - Ah...um..woh... She's um she's sanyukta...
Ranvir - I see...nice to meet u, young lady. U r a friend of randhir's, i presume? Strange coz he's never made eny frnds here, in diabolos. Though that may b because he's never lived here much. Wanted to go study outside, u see! u from diabolos too, i hope! What clan r u from?
Randhir - Bro...she knows why i left diabolos...no need to pretend. She know everything about me. She's...we're really close. Umm...
Randhir sighed.
Randhir - Ranvir...i want to marry sanyukta. Isiliyeh ham diabolos aaye hain. Taaki mom se baat kar paaye iss bareme.
Ranvir - Dekho randhir. Aaj tak tum hamse itne door rahe ho. Apni decisions khud li hain. Aajtak toh kabhi hamare paas isi chiz ki permission nahi li. Shadi karni hain, kar lete. Ab kyun aaye ho hamse baat karne?
A look of pain shadowed over randhir's face as all the bitter memories of his childhood flashed before his eyes. Sanyukta was shocked. She had heard from randhir that his brother was hostile towards him, but she had never known he could hurt randhir where it hurt him the most. He was bringing back all the bad memories on purpose. She clasped randhir's hand and held it tightly. HE took a deep breath and began again.
Randhir - Ranvir...baat usse gehri hain. Sanyukta...sanyukta f..f..flavos...se..hain
Randhir stammered out his confession. Ranvir looked from randhir to sanyukta, and back to randhir as anger shadowed his face. He landed a swift punch on his younger brother's face. Smarting from the blow, randhir looked up at him in anger, but did nothing to avenge it. Sanyukta looked on, shocked. She wondered why and how randhir was controlling his anger, while ranvir landed more blows on his body. And then it struck her.
In diabolos, one of the most basic rules was that one could never hit someone older that oneself. It was considered a heinous crime to hit an older person, one which nearly always resulted in death for the guilty, and life imprisonment or eny1 who was suspected to have looked on upon the act. She shuddered as ranvir went on inflicting blows upon the poor soul in front of her. She though about how he had been tortured all his life, about how he always maintained his distance from his family, how even the mention of his past brought back bitter tears he always struggled to control...so much pain. And here was a person, whom he called his brother, inflicting more agony on him. She couldnt bear it anymore. She couldnt possibly hit back ranvir and risk a death sentence on herself, so she did the next logical thing she could think of. She threw herself on to randhir's body and covered him as much as she could with her petite frame. Randhir was shocked. No one ever tried to defend him before. Ranvir kept hitting him through the spaces her body couldnt cover. She was outraged.
Sanyukta - STOP IT! Stop hitting him!! He's ur brother god damn it! Why cant u see he is so hurt! Hit ME stop hitting him!!
Sanyukta began crying. Randhir longed to go comfort her, but he couldnt. She had draped herself over his body and he himself was pinned to the ground by ranvir. His shirt, now torn at parts, was rapidly turning red.
Ranvir was busy hitting him through the parts sanyukta's body couldnt cover. He put forth a badly aimed blow which caught at sanyukta's shoulder. She screamed out loud. Horrified at having hit her, ranvir jumped back. Crying hard, she got up and helped a bleeding randhir to his feet.
Sanyukta - Maine randhir se suna tha uski family k bareme. Hamesha sochti thi k shayad woh thoda exagerate kar raha hain, surely, no one can be so cruel to their own family member. Par aaj pata chala k jo bhi usne bola, woh sab sach tha. Chale jayenge ham yahaan se! U dont need to hurt him anymore...no one needs to hurt him anymore!! We'll go away! We r enough for each other. Shaadi kar ke kai dur chale jaayenge jahaan koi randhir ko hurt nhi kr payega ( sobbing)
Suddenly, the door opened. Renuka sanyal stepped inside just to witness the end of sanyukta's speech, and the scene she saw inside horrified her. Ranvir was standing in front of a bleeding randhir. Randhir, barely consious, had his arm around sanyukta, who was helping him stand upright. She guessed the situation in an instant. Everyone froze on seeing her standing in the doorway.
Renuka - Are u boys already continuing ur ancestor's tradition of killing each other?? They waited untill their fathers died...u kids wait atleast untill i die!!
Ranvir bowed his head, and made a quick exit from the room. Renuka looked tenderly at sanyukta and told her to do the necessary first aid.
Renuka - Main ranvir ko kuch der k liye bahar le jaa rhi hoon. Tum randhir ka khayal rakhna...koi nahi hain gharme, feel free. I'll be back in an hour, phir baat karte hain.
So saying, she held ranvir by the hand as though he was 6 years old, and dragged him out of the house.
Sanyukta warmed up sum water n got the first aid kit, and told randhir to take off his shirt. Dipping a soft sponge in the water, she bathed his wounds witht he hot water as she sobbed. She applied ointment on his back, and collapsed in his lap, crying.
Sanyukta - m sorry, randhir. Yeh sab meri wajah se hua hain. Na main tumse kehti k apne parents ko batate he, aur nahi aisa kuch hota.
Randhir lifted her out of his lap and hugged her tightly, stroking his fingers through her hair to calm her.
Randhir - Shh...kuch nahi hua mujhe. M all fine. Aur waise bhi, tum toh aa hi gayi thi mujhe bachane, kyun? Main thik hoon baba...kuch nahi hua mujhe.
Sanyukta - I love u randhir...i'll never let anything hurt u again, i promise
Randhir - I love u too sanyu
PRECAP - Parth!! Kya bakwass kiye jaa rahe ho! Kuch acche ideas do baba...ese batayenge toh haan bolne se pehle has has k marr jayengi ma...randhir ko di dekh lo! Lot pot hogaya hain hasi se!
