Ch 54 : It Wasn't Your FaultTaani look at him, he was surely shocked after the revelation, and she had expected that, thus she never told him that, she knew it will break his heart.
"How?" His voice trembled, he held her shoulders and made her look at him, his eyes were demanding answer.
"When i was pregnant with Reyaan, there were many complications which got worse during delivery, it was hard to save me & the baby, but somehow doctors saved me & Reyaan but i can't conceive again. Doctors said there are very less chances of me conceiving again." Taani told him, tears were streaming down her cheeks. She knew, this will break him. She had seen hope in his eyes when he thought she is pregnant.
"Rey-" She look at him with teary eyes, Rey did nothing but pulled her in his arms, with unshed tears in his eyes. The mere thought of her & Reyaan being in danger made him felt like dying.
"I'm sorry! i'm so sorry, taani. It's all because of me- If i hadn't left you then you wouldn't have to go through all this. Because of me you lost your everything-" Rey mumbled, cursing himself, he felt like killing himself.
"Rey! It wasn't your fault. We should be happy that, today our reyaan is with us. He is god's blessing, what else we need?" Taani whispered, she broke the hug and cupped his face in her palms. His heart goes out for the girl, who had lost her everything because of him.
"I never felt sad over this, because i knew i have reyaan but i never thought about you, you weren't here at that time. I'm sorry, I can't give you happiness of becoming a father again." Taani whispered, her voice was heavy with the pain she was in.
"I accept, I wanted to feel happiness of becoming father again, because i wanted to pamper you during your pregnancy, want to live those moments which i missed when you had reyaan. And please, don't make me feel more guilty by apologizing. It should be me, who needs to be sorry. And you know, you are right, so what we can't have second baby, we have reyaan. He is everything to us." Rey said to her before he hugged her tightly, they shed their tears together.
"Haww! You both forgot me-" They broke the hug when they heard their son's voice, who was standing at the door, with his arms crossed against his chest.
"AW! How can we forget you, you are our star-" Rey shouted, he walked toward him and picked him up in his arms, all he wanted to do, was hold them close to his heart and assure himself, they are safe and with him. Her revelation about her pregnancy had shook him, he was glad, thanked his god for saving them that day.
It give him one more reason to keep them happy and protect them from any kind of pain. And he will do that, till his last breath.
